Without a shadow of a doubt, San Diego is the best, the cleanest, and the most organized city in California. ❤ Let’s hope it stays that way. Thanks for the tour, Chris. 🎉
SD used to be a great city until too many people started to move here starting in the early 90s. Miserable traffic and outrageous housing costs are the sad result.
@@enjoyeverysandwich1117 I hear you, and you’re at least partially correct, but considering everything SD is still a much better place than most bigger cities in California.
Hi Chris. Thanks for the walking tour. It's a very nice and clean mall and very spacious. It feels like a shopping mall/ food hall because it has so many place to enjoy some great eats. I love how the greenery breaks up all the concrete a makes it a very relaxing shopping experience. The skating rink is awesome and the fire place and little ponds help create a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely a place to stop by. Thanks for sharing and take care.
This is about the only mall we have here that is not struggling (well, Fashion Valley is doing well, also, but UTC has a far more varied selection)…And it has changed just SO VERY MUCH from what it was! Westfield actually massively remodeled this TWICE (2012 and 2018)…Now that they’ve extended the Trolley, it just get So much more business, too
Never been to San Deigo but that shopping mall looks really beautiful. We went to Fashion Walk shopping mall in Newport Beach in California while holidaying in L.A in June 1996.That was a huge clean shopping mall as well.
@@YellowProductionsThat's it,i got the name wrong it was Fashion Walk not Fashion Island,we went and returned to to and from the hotel on a complimentary shuttle bus put on at the shopping mall's expense.Mum and i bought some fancy chocolates from a chocolate shop in there.
I love Westfield, although I'm more familiar with the ones in Sydney. Good to know I don't have to travel that far to see one. No offence to California or Florida, but one thing that always makes me chuckle being from Denver, is going to places like socal and seeing how bundled up everyone is as soon as the weather drops below 70°. Southern Florida is even more comical, they bundle up if it's less than 75.
hello yp , thank you for this stream about nice centers for parking lots and taking a walk for shop and eats. there are articles that buildings with hvac are closing. living in the hustle bustle of a city - indoor circling with A/C or bad weather can be fun. and losing a child, the security and just intercom the child to wander back to meetup location. kids sometimes lose battery life in their new watches. elle for courts
I am actually quite surprised about how much variety this mall has compared to Fashion Valley, I mean, for the biggest Outdoor mall in California you would expect Fashion Valley to have a higher variety.
Interesting that Westfield put so much into renovations. As far as I know, Westfield is planning to pull out of the U.S. entirely and is selling all properties.
Nope. Capital One doesn't give free coffee in their cafes (14:29) to Capital One credit and debit card holders. Drinks are half price, but since they switched to Verve Coffee, the drinks are worse and there are less to choose from. Nice mall. I've never been but will stop by the next time I'm down that way.
FV is still on the middle of a huge renovation. UTC is more walkable with more fun things to see. I only go to FV if I need to go to Bloomingdale’s or Neiman Marcus, which isn’t often! 😊
I used to live in UTC. It was a great place to live but then they ran the train line through it, they remodelled the mall, and just too many people live there or hang out there. It used to be quiet and I loved that mall. No longer. Now it's congested and is just another Fashion Valley Mall now. Shame.

Haven't been to this mall in years! Brings back memories❤
this mall is super nice so clean and tidy . awesome skating rink i love the dolphins
I used to work at that mall 20 years ago, really miss this place thank you for your video.
Looks like a great place to come and walk around with the family! Super indoor-outdoor space. Well designed!
Yay! I love the UTC shopping area. Thanks for sharing.

As a 35 year resident, I would largely agree, although Sacramento is pretty nice, too, actually…
Go to 12th and imperial and say that

Thanks James! Indeed. Not just another cookie cutter mall
Brought back a lot of memories, and parking also been a problem there.
This looks like a large place for an outdoor mall. I will go there the next time I visit San Diego.

Yeah. Agreed that Fashion Valley does "well" but UTC is doing *great*
I think Plaza Bonita is also thriving as well.
@@LittleToyBonnieplaza bonita? Lol seriously
@@chrmnxpnoy It gets Incredibly crowded at times, and a good chunk of the stores are still there.

It is. And it's a great place to go for some free AC. But compared to the malls in LA / OC it's average at best.
this place is swank.. gotta bring the fam. Thx for the vid
Thanks for sharing Chris
I had no Idea rhat San Diego has such a nice Shopping Mall
I loved that food court when i went there last year

That’s our mall! It just keeps getting better, unlike the other SD malls. I was just there.
Bought a bathing suit for the hubs at that Sun Diego last week, lol
It sure does keep getting better! Now it just needs more parking 😀
Shout out to Din Tai Fung, so good and so happy I finally tried it!
Mmmm!
well done
We love your videos. Can you do one on Miami? I now it is a stretch, and we would really appreciate. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Thanks Ibrahim. I don't think I'll be in Miami any time in the near future. But if I am you can be sure I'll make some videos!
very nice👍👍👍👍👍👍

Yeah. We are weak when it comes to the cold weather!
I’ve been there lol
This is nice like the Stanford mall

hello - that is really nice in california the food court there was inside. ny/nj does not just have a rink suddenly but maybe roller rinks.
sbarro is the better pizzaria than cpk - extra thin crust on your fun pacific sun side.
Agreed.. I like Sbarro

Yeah.. Fashion Valley is a bit "meh" in my opinion. It'll be interesting to see once they finish their remodel
This is the only really good mall left in SD that can live up to LA standards. Don't forget you can take the trolley right up to it also.
Interesting that Westfield put so much into renovations. As far as I know, Westfield is planning to pull out of the U.S. entirely and is selling all properties.
They spent a ton renovating this mall, and Century City in Los Angeles. So my guess is they'll hang on to a couple
I live close to this mall
is this in la jolla?
Across the freeway from LA Jollla
It’s in University City
5:25…Shout out to Rising Sun Sushi, which is fabulous (and is run by my friends Tony and Hailey!)
Mmm
I love lemonade but I live in Texas so I can’t go to that mall. That is a nice mall.

Ah. Half off. Thanks for the correction!
Better than Fashion Valley?
Yeah. I think UTC is way better than Fashion Valley.. Fashion Valley is definitely 2nd though
FV is still on the middle of a huge renovation. UTC is more walkable with more fun things to see. I only go to FV if I need to go to Bloomingdale’s or Neiman Marcus, which isn’t often! 😊
FV is very limited in the selection of stores
Yup, the parking situation SUX! And as mentioned, not free (after 2 hours).
Peppermint Patty-o sounds way more fun than Peppermint Beach Club...
Drinking game where I take a shot every time Chris says “outpost”…already drunk 5 minutes in 😅
That's a good one!
Hater on Tesla, heard that sneak diss
Nice. Not very zombie-proof though, it seems.
Once I know parking is difficult - I'm out!
I don't blame you

It is definitely not quiet any more for sure!
