yeah like what the fuck, Helloween is easily greatest, how can you not know this band being metal fan xD the same with Judas Priest, it's so obvious that they were game changers. idk why youtube recommended me this guy, he's pretty tasteless
@@JacobsKrąnųg maybe he's just not into old school metal dude. his fav subgenre is metalcore and this channel mostly talk about metalcore
Motörhead and judas priest in great? Almost all of the bands in "The greatest" wouldn't exist without those 2 lol, ridiculous
Metal as we know it wouldn't exist without them lol
And putting Linkin Park to greatest but only their first 2 album were really great, the rest in the other hand... Especially the last one... I mean come on !
Seeing slipknot be put where it was, made me very very happy
80% of these bands Guitarists have John petrucci 🎸🎸on speed dial as a mentor . Dream Theatre is one of The Greatest bands not only for their style but the influence they had on all the other bands styles mentioned here, except the older bands.Dream Theatre, one of the greatest bands to ever exist and still will be for a very long time.🎸🎸🎸🎸
+1 for the deep dive into power metal. It definitely hurt me more than it should have to see the power metal bands put in idk. If you do check out the power metal genre, I recommend Rhapsody of Fire, Blind Guardian, and Angra
i say Alice in Chains are metal but since they came out during that time they got lumped in with grunge
Yep
I consider them part of the alt movement
Unearth, Behemoth, Nile, Periphery, Meshuggah…. Oh my this list was unfortunately lacking. But great content Nick!
As someone who spent his teenage years having a phase for every subgenre of Metal, it's always weird to me to see how many people got into it via Metalcore and pretty much just stayed there ^^
(or maybe the odd Nu Metal gateway drug, then Metalcore and a dab of Deathcore here and there)
Putting Gojira in greatest gives me some hope for humanity 🙌🏼
>Having Gojira ranked the greatest 😀
>Not having Meshuggah in the list whatsoever 😑
@@eriakuromaru7768 I love Gojira, but also love Meshuggah. I'm also surprised Cannibal Corpse, Death, After The Burial, Fit For A King, Fit For An Autopsy and Thy Art is Murder weren't on it

This Video hurts as Powermetal fan...
Blind Guardian, Helloween are headliners in European metal festivals
This rating is very american, how dont u know Avantasia, Manowar, Powerwolf (germany) and Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius (finland)
Most people in the US don't know any power metal. The only power bands you ever see here are the really generic ones like dragonforce and sabaton because of memes
I used to like Power Metal when I got into metal as it would enrich any MMORPG experience(s) I had. When I shifted to faster combat games, I needed something to groove to, and death metal hit the spot and I started appreciating its heaviness as I just headbang my troubles and inadequacies away. I guess I grew out of power metal like I grew out of the fantasy stories I used to read as a child, as I do not actively seek out power metal today, seeing it as 'weak' - preferring instrumentals if I want filler.
Just my experience though.
@@howler9171 I'm one of those people in the U.S. that really likes European power metal bands. 😎👍

I dont listen to Priest but dude, theyre one of the ALL TIME GREATS. Thats a fact.
Putting Trivium in front of Priest is downright insanity.
Like, even as someone who loves Truvium, you HAVE to put Priest in front of Trivium.
Same with motörhead. Almost none of the bands in "the greatest" would exist without them lol
Priest and Korn below Trivium wtf.
I love Trivium to death, they are one of the best bands of the last two decades in my opinion, but putting them above Judas Priest feels so weird and wrong.
Bro Bring Me The Horizon at greats
You got to be stupid for sure
Come on man they are kids metal
Korn should be in goat with fellow Nu Metal bands. Korn literally created Nu Metal as we know it.
Yeah, Korn is the only one whose placing reeeally confuses me. Maybe bc they are not what you think of as actual "Metal"? But neither my beloved Linkin Park. Weird.
I completely agree. Korn is my favorite band ever
Korn is quite literally still inspiring this new wave of Nu Metalcore/Deathcore.
That influence is real and they are still pumping out amazing music.
@@Jarlaxle_Baenre I couldn’t agree more
@@Jarlaxle_Baenre yeah, too bad I don't like metalcore that much. Like the only nu-metalcore band I like is Tallah. I wish Nu Metal came back in its pure form, not nu-metalcore/deathcore.

The first metalcore band I've ever heard was Bullet For My Valentine.
Judas Priest… below Killswitch… that’s fucking insane. They are just as legendary and important to Metal as Black Sabbath.

So true
AILD and Korn deserved to be in GOAT status.
Listen to everything in the scene new coming out and you hear their influences absolutely everywhere.
How the holy hell are Arch Enemy in 'Good'? One of the best Melodic Metal bands that have ever existed. The riffs, the breakdowns, the longevity, the vocals from all 3 singers, and don't even get me started on Michael Amott, dude just knows how to write riffs!!!!!

Liked the video for putting slipknot in second place. I grew up listening to them and they were the heaviest band I listended for a long time.
KoRn being below BMTH just kinda feel odd to me, especially when System of a Down, and Slipknot, are in the, "Greatest," category. (Mainly cause, from what I have seen, Slipknot, Korn, and System are normally regarded as all equally popular, influential, and whatnot)
korn also completely fell apart during the 2000s

And fell of during the 2000s? They were releasing music that was well received in 2005 -- For example: Coming Undone, one or their more popular songs, came out on the album See You on the Other Side (which was released on December 6th, 2005).
If anything, the had started to fall off later on, during the 2010s; moreover, System of a Down had been on a hiatus for 15 or so years, before releasing 2 singles earlier this year.
