Hey! glad you spun out this Red Sox channel! loving this. I was wondering if you will have a series to series livestream during the season (similar to Talking yankees), breaking down players perfomances and whats happening with the team? would love to see it
Very sad that the Sox are clearly not spending on FAs that require compensation or multi-year deals. IMHO Forget about Teoscar and/or Bregman, maybe we can trade for Arenado.
Does anyone have a report on Giolito’s progress? There’s something there. Crawford going to the pen, could be the reliever they were looking to acquire.
Signing makes perfect sense.. he's more of a breaking ball pitcher now instead of a "ok here's my fastball try and hit it " guy and baily is the perfect guy for him
If we can sign another bat or 2, Trevor Story gives us a full year (please), and the pitching staff stays healthy... I SEE A BIG YEAR FOR THE SOX INCOMING
The player signing isn't the problem, it's the refusal to pay a bona fide top line available player and instead going this way. Burns makes you a contender, Buehler cross your fingers.
@@fenwayfaithful There are exceptions. But I think that what I'm hoping for in a top guy is more than performance, I'm hoping they find a leader. Like a Wakefield. I think Burnes can be that guy that would make a long term investment worth while.
How? How? How do you go from being willing to spend $ 700 million 🎉on one of the best players in base ball to this kind of move? Why aren't we spending some of that $700 million on the best pitcher available?
Do you know how many players have signed 1 year deals over the years that ended up being key pieces towards competitive teams? Handing out $21M isn’t serious? You’re joking, right? Walker has been a very successful pitcher outside his surgeries, he wanted a 1 year deal, and he had a market. The fact the Red Sox got him says a lot. With all due respect. This is such a bad take. Red Sox fans really need to stop the whining. It’s getting old.
I feel like you misunderstood my comment. I never said it’s a bad signing or that this doesn’t help the team. But pretending 21 on a 1 year is serious money to the Redsox is disingenuous. It’s a lot of money to you and me, sure but not to John Henry. I don’t have a problem with the signing and I actually like it since there’s no real downside. I just disagree with the idea that this big spending. Lucas Giolito got 19 last year, nobody said oh there go the Redsox being big spenders. That’s all I’m saying

Not with the HRs he lets up. You bring in a guy to either keep you in, OR Close out a game your winning. You got a guy who comes in and gives up a Homer, that’s an absolute dagger to most teams.
I like the singing I'm not signing a pitcher in his 30s top dollar for anything over 3 years. I would rather have a deep pitching staff than 2 guys up top that may or might not work. Also gotta save money for a right bat
We just learnt to compromise and that's why we think this is a good signing. The old RED SOX up to 2018, would have signed Corbin Burnes at least a week ago. Unfortunately it's like we signed a Piveta type of pitcher and an injured one. A Corbin Burnes, would have allowed us to say we had a great offseason. Sandoval and Buehler? Really. 1 for next year , 1 for this year? That's doing it for you? Maybe I am older & at 58 you expect more from a team that won 4 championships the last 20 years. We traded for a stud in Crochet, but after that it's a mess in my opinion. They will not commit to an ace and this is scary for the present and the future of the Henry era. This overpaying stuff about Fried is making me a bit angry as well. He is an ace a legitimate ace not a 5.50 ERA type of ace, so the RED SOX had only 1 option, go after C. Burnes, but they punted as they usually do for years now. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. It doesn't fit us.
I say we move him once they add a power right hitter. He did play better towards end of season but cant stay healthy and is a liability in the outfield
All these comments. People forget the Pitcher he can be/ was. If he's great, give him the QO. If he's not you still have SO MUCH depth now that you can eat that contract.
This team only acquires damaged goods like they're not a top 3 revenue organization. They shop in the dollar bin while you suckers waste your money going to Fenway. No more for me
Not mad at this move. Burns is way overpriced which is why hes still on the market. I would definitely like to see them package Kutter and someone else and grab Cease from the Padres
