    Namaste everyone, I hope that you have had a great week so far.
    I have finally finished editing my last street food tour series with @foodnommics instagram.com/foodnommics/. This time around, we went to Boudha and tried TIBETAN influenced food in Nepal, which surprisingly reminds me of Chinese food I used to eat when I lived in China. It is fascinating to witness how cultures are spread out throughout the world and through food.
    This wasn't my best video, to be honest, since I was sick when filming this. Despite feeling unwell, I was dedicated to still film and share this experience with you. Let me know what you think of the video :)
    In the meantime, you can support this channel by NOT SKIPPING THE ADS. It helps this channel to keep going and providing you with free content :) Thank you so much for your time and for watching.

    Hi Syifa,
    you told Boudha as Tibetan's stupa but its not true. Its original name was "Khasti Chaitya". It is made in shape of mandala during lichivi period by Newars (inhabitant of Nepal mandal ). the Tibetans you see there came there as refugee.

      Thupten Tom, Buadha stupa was built by Licchavi king Shivadev I around 4th century, who is laso known as bikramiditya of Nepal. His palace was present day Narayanhiti and he was great devotee of Bajrayogini of Sakhu. Once country was hit by famine and he built stone spout near his palace. But water didn't came and he was worried. He started praying bajrayogini and one day in dream bajrayogini told him to flew rooster from sakhu hill and bulit stupa wherever it land. so flew rooster from hill and landed at that place. He built Baudha stupa there and water came from spout. That is why it is called khasti in nepali means dew drop. Later it was renamed as Baudhanath in order to Hindutization.

    • @2Disguise
      @2Disguise 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Thupten Tom So we have to learn history from lonely planet ha ha what a joke......go and read the scripts written in stone script(silalekh) and Manuscripts over there which is hundreds of years old.The construction of Khasti maha chaitya is related to Narayan Hiti (Stone Tap) inside Previous Royal Palace.According to the website you are refering says Boudha as first stupa which is totally false statement in itself Swoyambhu maha chaitya is the oldest.It is said even Maha Manjushree from China came to pay visit to Swayambhu and at that time he made Kathmandu valley habitable by draining off Kaal dha (great lake formation including present kathmandu valley) through chovar.

    • @kapil4417037
      @kapil4417037 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @wrong notes It Was not even called Baudha, it was originally Called Khasti, which Shah kings renamed Baudhanath as a Hindukaran, it was never called Baudha as well.

    • @kapil4417037
      @kapil4417037 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @wrong notes I don't have any information malla kings destroy vihars or whatever, it was bengal nawab who inaved and destroy lots of hindu and buddhist temple, burned lots of mansucripts. Jaysthiti malla actually re built all those.

      Hi Fany! So glad to read your comments. Hope you enjoy this video and many other Nepal videos I created for the past few months. Thank you for your kind appreciation towards the editing and filming side of it! In Nepal, it's easy to find vegan options although I dont have extensive knowledge upon this, but majority of Nepalese people are at least vegetarian, if not vegan. Good luck and I am sure you will enjoy Nepal!

    Laphing is technically is a Chinese cuisine introduced to Tibet since the 1960s when China occupied it. Laphing came into Nepal and India into small Tibetan refugees communities in the 1980s following the liberalization after the death Mao. A steady stream of Tibetan pilgrims and refugees came into India and Nepal.

    Hello Syifa I hope all is well. This was a cool video. The way they prayed by walking around the area was cool and the noodles looked delicious. How interesting you were able to find a connection to China in the food there. Thank you again for this video it was great.

  • @petagonkyi
    @petagonkyi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Laphing is Chinese food. It was introduced to Tibet in 1960s when Chinese occupied. Few Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal sold Laphing to earn a living as it doesn't require much investment.
    Momo, Thupka and roasted barley flours called TSAMPA are the traditional ethnic food of Tibetans.
