Kent Williams was nice enough to take us around Grizzly Jig store room and show us everything we would need to start tying hair jigs, and then we went back to the back room sat down and he's going to show you how to tie as a beginner, slow and steady, so you can take your time and learn how to do it right. One tip to the new tie crew……Squirrel tail , like buck tail can slip on you. Take your time and secure both those type tail materials, with either good tight wraps or add a tiny amount of Hard as Nails ( Nail Polish ) on base thread then continue to do your wraps. Hackle, Turkey flats, and other misc. feathers are a bit easier to secure. Rob

That’s part of the fun. Coming up with new patterns, color combinations etc.. One other tip is -it’s a lot cheaper to buy materials at craft stores-hobby lobby’s, Elamite craft aisles etc. You can buy life time of material for the price you pay at fishing stores. And anything can be turned into jigs- latex balloons, dust mops( crappies love mop bugs) pull chains for ceiling fans. Be creative

Or you can cover the eye of your jig head with a pair of pliers and dip into your powder paint and not close the eye in the first place
