Thanks for the info Brad
Here in Ohio the fishermen are slow and lethargic. Lol
I can relate to them 😂
Brad, great tips. Quick question, for the first one, why do you prefer floro over braid? Thanks!
Easy .. Braid is bad about twisting around the tip It drives me crazy
Bluegrass has been FIRE for me this month!! Question, when using long poles in 35 to 40 feet of water, the line tends to get tangled often at the rod tip. I am using 8lb braid. Any tips to prevent that?
Go to K9 Fluor 10-12 lb
Thanks Brad see you at grisly
Slayed em! Hell yeah

#25kcrappieconnection - Show idea, would love to hear a discussion with Bob Denen. He was just on Brushpile fishing's podcast and the transparency he has with tournament fishing was very enjoyable.
This is so real live. Could be the best crappie video I have seen.

17 degrees in the morning . Rockmart .GA Water temp 41 degrees. A week of this we may have shad die off!
I hope this new knife has a better motor than the old one. Couldn’t even get a replacement motor.
Livescope is destroying our fisheries.
Great fishing action. I enjoyed it but curious if that is the foot petal or TM squeaking? I fished with a new Garmin in a buddys boat that was super quiet but your's may have more mileage.
I like those plastic ammo boxes.

Indiana, back to ice. 😢
I didn't care for this video at all. All talk, no fish.
#25kCrappieconnection. Will see you again at grisly
I see this video is old, but, I just had to add my 2 cents on crappie fishing. My brother and I are avid crappie fisherman and we fish alot at night when its too hot to fish during the day. First of all you can have those green lights, we have them but dont use them. They do not bring in the plankton and baitfish that a white or plain incandescent light will bring in we have proven that to our selves. We normally fish over brush and fish straight down. We put out our submersible test tube lights about 30 minutes before dark and by about 30 minutes after dark we have gazillions of baitfish circling under the pontoon. We DO NOT fish on or near the dark of the moon or new moon (within 3 or 4 days either side) the plankton do not come, the baitfish do not come, and the crappie dont come. Been there done that got 3 tee shirts we have proven that fact to ourselves as well. Done it too many times for it not to be so. We save our fuel, money and time and go when we know we will have a better chance of catching them. I like fishing during the 3rd quarter of moon phase. We normally fish Clarks Hill or Oconee in Georgia.
Very cool info Do you fish minnows or jigs mainly
@crappieconnection Minnows, however there is nothing more fun than catching them on jigs but fishing at night is a whole different animal. We use a small inverter (size of a pack of cigarettes) and use a fish aquarium air pump so we dont have to listen to a d cell battery powered aerator all night. We also tie up a bunch of hooks on 10 to 12 inch mono leaders with loops and use small snap swivels on our main line because if you let your minnow down too far and catch a catfish, striper or hybrid they will tangle up every rod you have down. And even with overhead lights its still a pain to untangle and see how to retie in the dark we're both older. As far as the moon I dont even fish for crappie in the daytime around the new moon they just dont bite, you'll catch one or two but you wont kill em, it doesnt affect bass or catfish but it does crappie. Pay attention to what Im telling you (if youre a crappie fisherman) and you will see what Im saying is true. A couple other "tricks" we do is sprinkle cornmeal in the water occasionally (attracts plankton and baitfish) and put 5 or 6 drops of red food dye in your minnow bucket (makes their fins red) they have glow chartreuse dye but we rarely use it. If your minnow supplier sells rosey reds get you a couple dozen of those too, crappie love them.
