Yes! Great video. I never thought I'd see someone commentate a TAS of SM64 DS! It's a very good introduction to the tricks and glitches used, but most of the optimization when TASing this game comes from the movement used. It doesn't go too deep into the glitches but it would be incredible to see a Bismuth-style video on the any% TAS.

"TAS Speedruns"

Both pronunciations are used by TASers, so Nathaniel technically isn't wrong. Saying TAS as each letter individually is used often but not always. For me it's like saying Laser, with each letter pronounced individual
@@MattTheCommenter The problem isn't saying 'TAS' as a word, it's saying 'speedrun' as well, as that's what the S stands for, like how in ATM, the M stands for 'machine'. Another common example of RAS syndrome (redundant acronym syndrome) is PIN number.

Thank you for making this video! The choice of talking about the glitches performed in TASes is a great way to not only talk about the new glitches found in the last couple of years that not many know about, but also to give a better idea of how these can be used to go faster using TAS.

TAS is basically
1. Boot up game
2. Walk through wall
3. Beat game
The way DwangoAC often describes it is by comparing it to a piano roll. You're feeding in a pre-determined series of button presses that end up finishing the game.

I always love watching TAS runs of my favorite video games during my childhood. It's amazing to see how much you break the game.
I remember when I was in elementary, getting home from school and watching some good ol Nathaniel bandy videos. Now as a freshman in high school I look back at how much I really liked your videos and they’re always going to hold a special place in my heart

I’d recommend choosing a less loud and less high-pitched noise for when you display the names of glitches. Maybe you could choose a sound effect from the game selected for each TAS you explain?

Since the algorithm is bad, you probably won’t see this, but this was one of the most enjoyable videos I’ve seen in a while. I could watch the entire video without getting bored (which nowadays is a huge accomplishment) I think turning this into a series is a great idea :)

My favorite TASes are Lord Tom's SMB3 run and the Arbitrary Code Execution Pokémon Yellow run, both are absolutely insane and so funny to watch.

So SM64DS is finally getting some well deserved attention.
Next up.. Super Mario 63.
Sonic mania encore mode has a pretty interesting TAS if you want to do more of these. Lots of forcing your way into walls and looping around the back of the level to get to the end, and dodging loading zones to skip bosses

Maybe you should go a bit deeper into the speedrun techniques, as I felt like most explanations were a bit too short and fast. Otherwise, really good video and I hope you make more of these!
Its a testament to how special M64 speedrunning is that its remake automatically gets the speedrun treatment too

Mario 64 ds has a lot of TASking in it with oob and fun stuff that I never knew before I really want to see more and make this a series with Adeal Tas helping you I really never thought using the touch screen would be useful

However my one criticism, the music chooses was a little distracting; Like it wasn't a lot just enough to be noticable.
