I found out about this glitch years ago (2018-2019 I wanna say?). Interesting to see other people discovering this still. This game is much more glitchy than people think if you play long enough (and debug mode has a ton of them). Recently when I was trying to show a friend this bug, I only could ever pull off turning Tails completely magenta. But every character can look like this other than Sonic I believe, or at least I never got it to work for him IIRC. (I personally found this glitch out with Ray first)
