This exactly, I was rammed in turn 1 at Monza, as one car came flying through and took 3-4 of us out. i smashed into another car and pushed him off, I got a 4 second penalty, original driver got nothing and finished 2nd. I managed 11th from 16th :(
I think we need a report button for unsportsmanlike conduct or for dirty drivers because I think it will make the races more enjoyable if you have a good battle with another driver without contact and I think a report button will get a lot of bad drivers banned, what do other people think?
It's not a bad idea but I agree with @VJ it will be abused, every little thing will be reported. I agree something should be done with dirty drivers but even the slightest of accidental taps and nudges will be reported also when it's not necessary.
Even without a report button theres been a slew of super dirty drivers made famous (in our little world) that PD had to know about, yet let them ruin race after race after race after race for years. No reaction. Zero. Not even a warning. PD wants dirty drivers imho. Heck i should have recieved at least a warning for my early gameplay but then learned to drive without being a dick...mostly.
The penalty system is an absolute failure. Ramming someone should always result in a penalty. The joke is, Kie got a penalty for barely touching the green car as they threw the car into the hairpin, after avoiding a tremendous ramming attempt. The green car hit Kie, and probably everyone in front of them, at every chance they could. That is not bad driving that is intentionally trying to ram your way to the front, and never getting a penalty. That is a complete failure. The DR should be effected by penalties for ramming people, because that is how they are driving. The SR rating means nothing when you can get away with intentionally driving dirty with, practically, immunity. Harsher penalties, and damaging your own car when you ram into the rear of another car, that may help with the problem drivers. Or, it will make them quit and the rest of us who want to race cleanly can continue. Unfortunately, the DR system has always given out more points for ramming your way through than having a clean race bonus. Maybe that is the real problem.
Trouble is when you increase the penalty sensitivity, you end up how it was before... The slightest, unintentional rub ends up in races ruined, regardless to who's fault it was. Too often people we're getting hit and receiving a penalty for it. Remember it's a computer, it has no idea who drove into who, who swerved into who, who braked too early, who braked too late, who turned off their line to avoid a crash, who tuned off their line to cause a crash. I propose a live algorithm to work out trends in braking points, turning speeds and line choices to try and work out if and who is driving badly.
@@OliCM3 if this computer doesn't know anything, than they are using the wrong algorithm. They had a decent penalty system before and the worst offenders complained the loudest and PD changed it, for the worse. iRacing has a decent enough penalty system, and damage model, which both implemented is a better system than anything PD has delivered. People should stop making excuses for PD, they are folding to the worst and possibly not even realizing it.
That half-second penalty you got sums up this game for me. You raced clean, other people cheated, and then because of their cheating you got a penalty. I haven't even loaded the game for a few days now, it has become too frustrating.
I’m on the NA server myself. I fully admit that I am not the best/fastest driver. That being said, I do try to run clean races, and I’m currently on quite a nice streak of about a dozen clean races in a row. I usually run Daily Race B, because it’s the perfect length for me. I’m pushing 60 years old, and Race C often just makes my eyes strain too much. That’s literally the only reason I often don’t run it at all most weeks. Anyway, it’s not unusual for me to be sandwiched between 5 cars carrying collision penalties. This usually happens on the first lap, and I’ve learned to just try and keep my distance. I usually qualify between p5 and p8, and just by racing clean I will get/challenge for the podium. I often say “You can’t win the race on the first lap, but you can certainly lose it.” There are several things I’ve noticed as differences between the American and Euro servers. - Slow cars will never move out of the way on NA servers. For example, if a driver makes a mistake which slows them considerably, they would rather risk running you off the track than allowing you to pass. - Many NA drivers think passing is not braking and ramming into your side panel to slow down.
I feel your pain, I'll be 60yrs old in Nov lol. And like a lot of NA drivers, I tend to put all my effort into qualifying, just to get ahead of the "squirrels". I've been racing daily's since launch, and my highest finish has been fourth (out of at least 100 races). I normally qualify top five (on my favorite tracks) and still barely finish top ten after driving through the carnage. On tracks I really am not fond of, I don't even try qualifying, I just start at the back and let anyone behind me pass at the start. It's the only way I can get the "clean race" bonus, and I wind up moving up 8-10 spots just passing the idiots. It's not fun. I've played GT since the first game came out. And I'll admit I was pretty stoked when online was first introduced,... until I actually tried to run a race. As someone previous mentioned, NA drivers tend to have this NASCAR mentality, "rubbin is racing". Well yeah rubbin is racing ... in NASCAR ! They seem to think since GT cars have fenders, they need to use them. PD should try at least to have a report system, whereas drivers that act like idiots can loose points against their license. Get enough points, you get banned. But to be fair, it would need a way where those drivers could contest the accusations, by way of providing video of said offense. At this point, I just don't think the penalty system and drivers ranking is a big enough deterrent.
The trouble I am having is that gamers (not drivers) have figured out how they can not only get an advantage, but ruin another's race, without accruing penalties. I see it repeatedly from the same gamers in the dailies. I am still having some good battles, but it is often between me and another driver battling a gamer for P7 after said gamer punted us from the podium in turn 1. GT has no motivation to change - they would alienate the majority of their fans - gamers. If PD developed a daily that focused on sportsmanship and improving through racecraft rather than gamecraft, I would pay extra for it rather than investing all the time and energy required to get involved with iRacing. Older racer here too. I ran about six A-races yesterday, started from pole twice, and only finished 4 races. I rage quit the last two races after getting punted from first to last, facing backwards, in the first lap. I was on pole because I had been relegated to a lower rating after losing places in all the previous races, each of which happened after losing places to a gamer.
@@traviscarroll911 I absolutely agree with everything you said, though I refuse to rage quit any race. One thing the guys on my racing team (we are super casual B-rated racers) is that racers should be black flagged and ghosted if the accrue a X number of penalties during a race. We also discussed that bumping can be incidental, but multiple bumps should be penalized. Obviously they need to improve the penalty system. Especially against brake checkers, bumpers and blockers. I watched a replay last night of a race at Interlagos, and this one guy literally hit every single car he was close to. This is how he “slowed them down” to make a pass. He was going things like braking late and bumping the car in front out of the way. They will argue that this is the only way to pass in a BoP race, but I argue that if you qualified better, you wouldn’t have been behind that car to begin with.
I'm 55 myself. Hint... just don't close your eyes. LoL. I find myself reminding myself to close my eyes because racing me doesn't want to get out of the zen groove for even one second. That being said I haven't been able to get beyond a D driver rating yet because of guys like this even though I hold an S safety rating. I have only been playing since the beginning of March 23 though so maybe it's just going to take a few more wins in hopefully clean races to get that rating up but as I'm seeing, it doesn't look like getting an A rating is going so save me from shitty drivers.
This extends from the popularity of nascar where “rubbing is racing” in many of those guy’s eyes. I just love when they bump me off the track and don’t even get a pen but when I accidentally barely tap a driver who brakes super early and i somehow get a 3 sec pushed off track pen when they barely moved on the track. The penalty system needs more work
Stop blaming NASCAR for poor racing etiquette among road course enthusiasts: that just isn't the case. Most of the Americans playing GT7 don't follow any sort of sanctioned racing at all; I'd be willing to put money on that.
Completely agree with you on the nascar point as well as the fact that when I accidentally bump a bad driver with slow pace that brakes too early and hard I get a pen but when someone just PITS me on purpose they get nothing or even just get to continue on while I’m sliding backwards into a sand pit. And my race is ruined while they continue on. We don’t have the best racing culture in America like they do in other places.
@@cashewww87_94 I don’t mind that racing culture on ovals because it makes it more fun to bump draft and race super tight but on road track racing it definitely hurts the experience and fun for everyone else
@@BurchyGaming I could see that. You’re right on the oval that does add some sort of excitement. I just hope PD fixes this somehow cuz my SR is hurting from my rage quitting lol. I don’t wanna set fastest lap times just to finish 12th cuz of this crap anymore.
This is why I stopped raving against strangers online many years ago. It totally sucks. There should be a process to report (with video proof) and get people perma-banned. Or at least block them so they don’t show up in your lobbies anymore. I dunno.
I've raced every driver in that lobby, and most of them are infuriating. I now spend about 90% of my time online trying to qualify as high as possible to try and prevent this, which means I can only get 4-5 races in per week. It's very frustrating for someone who is trying to move up into A/A+ DR, as getting rammed off with no resultant penalties kills start/finish index. I raced the driver who finished P1 in your race (can't remember spelling, but I think it was Jaeger) and he threw down a low 2.29 in-race. Impressive stuff.
Usually daily a is a mess with all the dirty drivers coming out, daily b is good fun tho and I’ve had some good results from it myself. But from me who was in your position before is just to keep doing what you’re doing or even study some lap times to get that bit faster! Cheers waiting for you to get to A+
@@Mughen93 thanks for the kind words! I'm studying quite a bit and getting properly quick, but I'm saddled by the fact that I can only play once or twice a week. I just don't have the schedule to support getting out of these lobbies in a timely manner on a pad. I've got to keep slogging and just enjoy the game as much as possible for the limited time I've got. The last DR-B I put real time into was Gr.3 at RBR, and I wound up in what I suspected was top or second split with 5 or 6 A+ drivers in the lobby.
So true with the qualifying. I have to spend so much time getting the best quali so I don’t have to fight thru dirty drivers. Which is cool but sometimes I wanna test myself and see how far I can work thru from the back. It’s so frustrating
I dont have the ability to not retaliate, i just bide my time until I know i can put them off the track for good, with no possible return, even if i receive penalty.
SR honestly needs to be more impactful. It's silly you can punt someone in the back that many times per race and sit comfortably in S. It'd hurt innocent people a bit more to begin with, sure, but it would eventually calculate itself out again where the people who are constantly punting are low in SR, and thus can't really hurt the people who are trying to race cleanly in higher SR lobbies.
The big problem is that it's too easy to manipulate SR if you're a decent enough driver. One or two "clean" races and you can get back to SR-S no problem at all. I see the same filthy drivers all the time in A/S lobbies.
It should be fairly easy to tweak the algorithm to make it increasingly harder to reset SR, all the way until it would take literally forever to do. If they deem literal forever too harsh, they could hard cap the penalty where they see fit, add grace periods to help with false positives, and keep tweaking according to what is needed. Instead, it seems to me they are afraid of losing the intentional rammers more than the clean drivers due to the rammers.
I’m a B rated driver and S safety rating. I don’t race online nearly as much as I want because I’m afraid of Dirty drivers. It’s really sad cause I love the game. I’m in the US region.
@mickyzzzeee and also I make a habit of practicing starts. Because in qualifying trials you are at optimum speed and tire temp at the beginning of each lap. I typically practice a slow rolling start or a grid start so I can judge the exact brake point before turn one where it's usually chaos. I also seem to be the only one that takes advantage of warm ups before races. Because like real world the tires are always cold at the start of the race. Also after pitting Tyre change traction is slightly off.
This is absolutely my experience almost every race. Makes it very hard to improve my DR especially when I try to avoid these people and get penalized for it. A good amount of the time I have better pace but it gets ruined by these people here in America. So frustrating!
These are the exact same drivers that I race against literally every day. I'm new to this, so I thought it was "normal". My strategy has been to just let them pass, and then retake the position if they mess up or get a penalty.
I absolutely hate dirty drivers in Gran Turismo 7. Especially the Tomahawk vtg players who think their the best fucking player in the world just because they bought 1 car.
Here's my thing: Driver ratings are hard, long slogs to increase... but Sportsmanship ratings, I mean, they're all "S" & in nearly no time? I feel like SR's should be at least as flexible as DR's, know what I mean? "S" simply seems to be anyone & everyone who has been in more than 5 Sport mode races.
10:26 The physics is so wrong. Ben should have lost A LOT of ground here, tilting left and right, on a long straight. Something fundamentally wrong with this game's physics.
Precisely because of such drivers, I am in favor of introducing realistic damage in the game. Then the races of these drivers would usually be over after the first 2 or 3 corners. OK, it would hit the innocent at first, but over time the dirty drivers would be forced to change their behavior if they wanted a chance at good results. That would help everyone.
Couldn't agree more with you kie. I find the majority of drivers in the American region to just be pure filth. Even in A rated lobbies I see lots of bad driving.
It's not easy to do something, you need an incredibly good AI system to tell who is at fault. The last thing you want is for the AI system to start banning clean players. And we see from the penalty system that it's not a trivial task to do.
In my opinion.. Its the unnatural speed that drivers can attack a corner when using assists. I also noticed that in my replays, it doesn’t show that the other driver is using assists at all, until the assist is activated. There is definitely an advantage using assists atm. Especially in road cars where you need to balance the car more. It seems counter productive for a game which should be helping you become a better driver 🤷♂️ if vigilante was using stability management, he doesn’t have to balance the car at all and can just slam on his brakes into the corners. They definitely need to adjust the trade off for drivers who are trying to better their driving skills and using no assists. Compared to the drivers who are basically driving on rails
It still baffles me over what people get out of ramming… the skill it involves and the satisfaction must be second to none to know you’ve beaten people by ramming them off and not skill😂
Thanks Kie. This kind of stuff is the reason why beginners feel they to give up on this game. I actually did get rewarded with a clean race bonus, Even though my PD suffers for it.
My final race before the change this week, I had both TPC_Vigilante and BenRod in my race. Those two actually ended up taking each other out. TPC_Vigilante rage quit at the back, and BenRod finished 8th. Their fighting in front of me allowed a podium finish. And yes, USA servers have so much dirty drivers, and drivers who don't use radar or understanding braking zones.
PD could easily fix this by penalizing a whole lot harder. If Vigilante copped 5 seconds every time he bumped you, he would soon stop. Some would say a bit harsh but everyone would be much more careful if this were the case.
I got stuck for a long time in the BS lobbies, until I had to swallow my pride and learn from the races. So changed my cam few to bumper view for thus very reason, and it also help to anticipate bad driving like this. Good educational video. Cheers
Good Vid Kie, I struggle to not get annoyed when things like this happe . Also going for overtakes in braking zone and person moves suddenly and brakes early in front of you so you get penalty.
I believe the only way to win in Daily Race A is to qualify in Poll position and get away from the pack as fast as you can. But that doesn't work all the time cause people use you as their breaks and don't care if they get a penalty.
im from the americas and yes,. this is happening all the time, they should make a penalty time sistem, when you reach 10 sec of penaltys you cant race for two days , or you are out of any point races for x amount of time , you get suspended once ,2 days off, second time a week, next time a month, that should help
How did he not get any pens for that??? This is what I deal with racing in the D-E groups everyday. I really try to race clean and do a pretty good job of it, can't wait to get DR up. How do you switch servers ... didn't know you could do that. Could you do an in depth video on getting DR up .. like specifically what to do and not to do to increase DR
You think online is bad. I got in a head on collision with an Idiot in a Cadillac yesterday morning because he decided to use my exit lane as a short cut to make a left turn. Luckily I drive a 20 year old Toyota 4Runner and all it did was leave some paint on my bumper. I did bust his grill out, headlight exploded, crumpled the hood and right fender very badly. It was a brand new Cadillac SVT with the sticker still in the window. He was rather mad that I had the nerve to tell him it was his fault for driving past the "DO NOT ENTER" sign into the turn lane from my exit. Its one of the exits where the concrete curb only lets you go where you are supposed to. So even if I was not there he would have had to drive another 50 feet into oncoming traffic before making a U turn into 3 lanes of oncoming traffic.
What I'm confused about is the lackof repercussions for repeated ramming and bumping. Surely there should be something that gets flagged for that much bumping. Also how have they all managed to maintain on S SR? I'm still quite new to GT and I donot think I've seen a lower rating than s
Once, the car in front of me oversteered massively in a long corner and became perpendicular to the track. I hit its side because I had good speed and didn't lose grip. I got a 5 secs penalty for it.
These vids are fun for a change of pace once in a while, Kie, good job! I figured out the key to race A in D lobbies. Bump your way to the front and don't look back, haha! But really I did manage to get a couple podiums (2nd and 3rd) this week on Race A, had a good battle for first leaving the carnage 5+ seconds behind us.
I live in Australia and our servers include the Asian countries and they would have to be the worst driver cheats of all time. Mind you there are plenty of Aussie's who are just as bad. I'm 75 y.o. and most times just make up the numbers although I have managed two wins. But it's so frustrating getting taken out by some idiot and then getting penalised for contact or running off the track. The last lap is the worst if you have someone on your tail.
Mate I’m here too..I’ve got 80 wins from 105 races and an A+…it gets no better at the pointy end man. It’s an age thing I think…teenagers that have a little rage and have absolutely no race craft
TPC_Vigilante is gloating over on GT Planet. "How to troll a streamer who badmouths the drivers in your region, then shows up to race you. :D" The thing is, they all proved your point, and just look bloody childish!! Oh, hold on, he didn't wanna wreck ya, just frustrate and annoy.
@@jdevlin1910 Kie isn’t the only one, and being in the American lobby’s when I play, I can confirm that there is consistent dirty driving even in the A/A+ lobbies.
I had my first really bad experince with a dedicated griefer yesterday in the GT2 class nations cup. This guy (Checkerd Jester) had a technique where if he was on the inside he could slam the outside car and the outside car would get a penalty, he was intentionally keeping the back half with him. (canada/usa east coast)
@7:30 youve surprised me.I've raced with Ben for a couple years. Hes always been clean to me. We've bumped and taken each other out plenty, probably more my mistakes than his. But theres always ben respect.
Well I was going to get GT7 but I think I will pass if this is what the online looks like on the American server. I was going to buy a wheel and try and compete but this changes my mind.
2:23 im glad you changed your view on retaliation. You retaliate after the first incident today and I think that’s just fair! Somebody cuts you off, cut them off right after to let them know.
The only way and this isn’t always the case is you really need to qualify in the top 3 of any given Lobby. A top split/second split lobby ideally and prey to god you don’t make a mistake and slip past 5th. If you end up below mid pack you’re screwed…you’ll end up with a bunch of BS, BA drivers who would love the opportunity to “beat” a higher ranked driver. They also tend to brake a lot earlier which leaves you with no option but to hit them. I am now in the process of making the move to ACC and I racing on a PC as console gaming unless in a private league is largely crap.
This is why I’m not driving gt7 at the moment, cos it sucks, you get taken out cos they know who you are, I get it cos I’m lower ranked, dirty guys should be banned
This was This weekend in the Toyota g1 like carnage would be in 4th then punted to back of pack. P16 to p3 then sent to the realms "bumps racing" but isn't knowing when to break is too
I'm all for PD to try and sort it with individual repeated offenders but there are ways around these things creating new accounts etc. However, given there is damage simulated wouldn't an east fix for discouraging rammers, be to implement front splitter damage for instance, whereby your downforce as your "splitter" gets destroyed.. then makes the car's handling gradually worse and worse to the point if the ramming continues it pretty much becomes undrivable with severe understeer? Would go a long way to discourage this behaviour if there were genuine performance consequences other than this rather hit and miss penalty system. (course this won't work as it would for those cars with downforce fitted but that's not to say even a standard stock body doesn't have some aero on the front - if indeed we even required a real-world consequence. Even simulated radiator damage would have genuine consequences as to the performance given the overheating)
I can’t race with people like that. I will usually quit and find a new lobby. I don’t care what place I finish, I just want good racing! And I agree with all your tips. Half the time they wreck themselves!
Sadly, there's a long road ahead. Some of the worst drivers in-game are B/S rated. They have a bit of speed under their belts, so they can get themselves positioned for more subtle "moves" than the lower-rated rammers. Most of them have learned how to victimize themselves to the pen system, as well; which makes things even worse.
If you notice this so called top split lobby was full of B rated drivers. The experienced A+ and A drivers just cant be found in the PS5 NA lobbies. Not sure if its a PS5 availability issue or what, but the lack of good competition in NA is what is fueling this kind of behavior. These B rated and below drivers, I feel, havent been around long enough to gain the experience to know how to overtake so P2P, make contact by mistake ect. ect. Then whomever they hit takes it personnaly and tries to get retribution, then kaos ensues. Whatever the reason, this is exactly why I set a qualifying lap and race from the from so I dont have to worry about the idiots.
setting a qualifier barely even matter unless you are literally top split best of the best. Reason being, the better your qualifying time gets, they will just keep putting you in better and better lobbies which will start to push you further down the grid. It’s only worth it if your times are better than the majority of A/A+ drivers
I've never been higher than "B" rated. I've also never been a dirty driver. You can't tar everyone with the same bush. The problem is the awful algorithm, that polyphony should be sorting out....
I think the solution can only come from a totally different way of addressing the issue- PD are moving towards the ongoing service model of their games and I believe that having dedicated race marshals/control like what a real life race series has, would solve all the problems. Like a moderator for a forum but making real time calls on the race action. No need to make a game code to simulate parameters when there are well established worldwide governing bodies that apply set rules they can follow with a real staff (PD) acting the role.
If they want to fix this it could be as easy as turning up the damage to the max for online games. If you bust up you car trying to wreck someone else it will discourage this quickly.
Just started out with GT7, studied the rules, practiced a ton before hitting online.....first race was continuously wiped out for doing better than others....then get penalized for it.......last time I will be playing online for me.....
You need to here your rank up, it’s the same with all ranked based racing, once you get out the low ranks the racing is actually generally really good 👍
In the American servers, some of the upper splits don't even get A+ drivers in them. There are very few in the Americas overall. I don't think this is top split, but it's close.
@Matthew Cydylo Oh don't get me wrong... That might be the best lobby available for that race at that time, but let's not confuse the fastest available lobby at that time with the top split drivers. I mean 4 drivers hadn't even laid a qualifying lap and only a couple were in the 2:30s. I'm thinking there might have even been some "stream sniping" tom foolery going on here haha. Look Kie you got stream snipers lol
The reason why lobbies are dirty is because the handling of the cars are made crap in order to accommodate the idiots. Why does no ones get this yet? Keeping the handling the way the cars were upon release would have ensured quality lobbies.
If they would stop only modeling new cars but to implement all real racing consequences that are completely ignored in this game, it would be like this. If a bump could ruin your car, make you loose control realistically and that you would have to pay with game credits your car repairs, racing would be fucking clean and it would be the best racing experience you would have ever game in a supposedly "sim" racing.
Need to have a penalty collection and after you collect x number of penalties you get suspended for x amount of races, when you get to race again it is at a probation period. If you get any 2 sec or higher penalty your suspended again for another x amount. After failing to get off of probation a 3rd time you are banned from racing for an extended period up to one year.
Why are PD not dealing with these drivers mate? Its not as if its a one off mad race, they do it, race in and race out. Example, Kimi in the EU/UK races, these drivers are disgusting and should have a ban of some sorts, even just a a day or week, to make them think about their actions.
Have you watched the new lately? When was honor, chivalry and sportsmanship adjectives that could be used? Today you have to assume that everyone is an evil asshole until proven otherwise.
Entire week of race I wasn't able to finish they keep pushing me off every single time and spinning out. they need to ghost out the people who ramming straight into the wall through you
Over here there is much less respect for other drivers. Not sure why, maybe too many Nascar Fans. They all want that win no matter what the cost and don't care about penalties at all it seems. They will even go 3 into a corner sometimes, not willing to wait and pass u on the straights. Some of the Brazilians are even worst. Others use your car as their breaks going into the corners. Makes GT7 not fun at all. Its very, very difficult to get up to A because of this. You either have to Qualify first and get away from the mid pack carnage or not set a time and work your way thru from the back as they take each other out and u hope for a top 10 or 5 finish. The penalties in the American circuit need to be way more severe than in the EU. Enjoyed you video and watched your stream last night.
@@thorodinson7467 I couldn't agree with you more. People assume that because short tracks get a bit elbows-out that every driver is out to murder one another at any moment, and the fans are all frothing at the mouth for blood. Sure, a bit of light contact is going to happen when you're running 43 cars in the space that they do, but it rarely constitutes a lack of respect. To further your point, I highly doubt Brazil is filled with NASCAR fans.
I’m not sure that it isn’t just inexperience driving. I only race against people that I know because of stuff like this. But I’ve raced against family and friends and they do the same thing because they’re either inexperienced or just don’t know the course layout well enough so they’re focusing on too many other things rather than who’s in front of them. Who knows
The penalty system is kinda wiggy sometimes. I got a 4 second penalty for a guy that drove off the track. Upon entering the track again, he tried to ram into me. I braked and he hit the front of my car, which pitted him and sent him off track again... I got the penalty
Heres my two cents: Just create a couple lobbies for people to have their fun instead of racing seriously, you know, one where it doesnt count for your stats or progress or anything. Call it an arcade lobby or something. This way if someone is just fucking around they can do that, and if they want to race "seriously" we can do that too. Win-win.
Are all the assist turned on in GT official tournaments? Im new to the game but I wanted to practice using the same setting and regulation as the official tournament. I cannot find any article or discussion bout the assist anywhere.
I've had better luck since getting to C driver rating. The E and D races were rotten with half the field just playing demolition derby. The penalty system is also dreadfully inconsistent. Players in 3 or 4 car groups can beat and bang each other off the track with no penalty, but if a car spins in front of me and I make incidental light contact I've gotten anywhere from .5 to 5 whole seconds.
This shit is exactly my experience. I pride myself on driving clean so inevitably I just quit trying to race online after a couple of goes. Typically it's the French and Italians dive bombing and bumper bashing, that's just my experience, but clearly there are lazy and aggressive drivers from all countries. Such a shame because I really enjoy the concept of Race A and sport in general, but people just ruin it. I'll continue trying a couple of races a day in the hopes of a clean ish race. But it tends to happen consistently every day, even when driving defensively.
I'm sure Ben and Vigilante are the most polite drivers in real traffic though! I'm sure they always let pedestrians cross the road and all that... Or maybe not :D I'm sure Ben is...Well Ben.
What pisses me off the most is the penalty system! You get punished and they don’t.
Hi last night at Maggiore I got slammed into turn 2 . Bumped car in front and I got a penalty 🤬
We had one in gt sport, it did nothing. Pd doesn't care.
It will be abused
It's not a bad idea but I agree with @VJ it will be abused, every little thing will be reported. I agree something should be done with dirty drivers but even the slightest of accidental taps and nudges will be reported also when it's not necessary.
Even without a report button theres been a slew of super dirty drivers made famous (in our little world) that PD had to know about, yet let them ruin race after race after race after race for years. No reaction. Zero. Not even a warning. PD wants dirty drivers imho. Heck i should have recieved at least a warning for my early gameplay but then learned to drive without being a dick...mostly.
They did have one man, did fuck all
The penalty system is an absolute failure.
I often say “You can’t win the race on the first lap, but you can certainly lose it.”
There are several things I’ve noticed as differences between the American and Euro servers.
Also, the saying goes "rubbing is racing", not "bumping".
Hopefully we will see eachother next time you're on your US account! If you get a honk or flash on-track from Greyscale2006, it's friendly!
I agree 100%. My last race last week was against BenRod and TPC_Vigilante, and it was brutal.
I dont have the ability to not retaliate, i just bide my time until I know i can put them off the track for good, with no possible return, even if i receive penalty.
It is not just a problem in the US. I see this all the time in Australia. I mean ALL the time. It is sad, and it makes me sad.
SR honestly needs to be more impactful. It's silly you can punt someone in the back that many times per race and sit comfortably in S. It'd hurt innocent people a bit more to begin with, sure, but it would eventually calculate itself out again where the people who are constantly punting are low in SR, and thus can't really hurt the people who are trying to race cleanly in higher SR lobbies.
safety rating mean noting in this game wish gt7 put more effort in instead they more or less copy gt sport
The big problem is that it's too easy to manipulate SR if you're a decent enough driver. One or two "clean" races and you can get back to SR-S no problem at all. I see the same filthy drivers all the time in A/S lobbies.
@@afc5150 amen to that
It should be fairly easy to tweak the algorithm to make it increasingly harder to reset SR, all the way until it would take literally forever to do. If they deem literal forever too harsh, they could hard cap the penalty where they see fit, add grace periods to help with false positives, and keep tweaking according to what is needed.
Instead, it seems to me they are afraid of losing the intentional rammers more than the clean drivers due to the rammers.
Impossible without an overwatch process…Pen systems are hard to manage as their are too many variables
I’m a B rated driver and S safety rating. I don’t race online nearly as much as I want because I’m afraid of Dirty drivers. It’s really sad cause I love the game. I’m in the US region.
The only way to avoid this mate is by qualifying in the top 3 and maintain consistency. Qualifying is super important in this game
So frustrating!
i think u mean ruined by brazilians lmao
@@aaaaaaaawwwwwwww them too for sure
It was intentional. In game chat, BenRod, "Do it, Vig". I'm guessing they were in chat together, Vigilante suggested he was going to punt you
These are the exact same drivers that I race against literally every day. I'm new to this, so I thought it was "normal". My strategy has been to just let them pass, and then retake the position if they mess up or get a penalty.
I absolutely hate dirty drivers in Gran Turismo 7. Especially the Tomahawk vtg players who think their the best fucking player in the world just because they bought 1 car.
yo kie i love that little diffrent sperpective in right bottom of the screen and shout out to you for staying so calm
ACC rating system is a lot better
10:26
The physics is so wrong.
It's seriously horrible...pd won't even do anything
It's not easy to do something, you need an incredibly good AI system to tell who is at fault.
The last thing you want is for the AI system to start banning clean players. And we see from the penalty system that it's not a trivial task to do.
It's not PD's fault. There's only so much they can do without banning all contact.
Its called little man syndrome
I find the earlier in the day the worse the driving. When it's past there bed time it gets better. Some peaple need to stick to motorstorm
At one point ben and vigilante were communicating to each other through the chat, a team of rammers
Thanks Kie. This kind of stuff is the reason why beginners feel they to give up on this game. I actually did get rewarded with a clean race bonus, Even though my PD suffers for it.
This is why I won't play Gran Turismo online anymore. Players drive like absolute dirtbags.
Wow. That isn't true at all. Lol
@@tpcvigilante3009 If I were you I'd nip along to the local garage and get your brakes checked........they don't seem to be working too well.... :p
Cheers
If you make sure you go slightly off track when they are doing this they will get penalties more consistently.
I wished the bonnet cam had rear view for better sportsmanship.
Brilliant idea 💡👍
This is why I shy away from online races on GTS or GT7. Surprised, though, he didn’t get a penalty as contact penalties are back in GT7.
I’m American and it saddens me to know that the American lobby’s have that reputation.
Relax, Kie25 has a whole youtube channel dedicated to his dirty driving, he's not one to speak on this with any integrity.
100% this is common in US servers
@7:30 youve surprised me.I've raced with Ben for a couple years. Hes always been clean to me. We've bumped and taken each other out plenty, probably more my mistakes than his. But theres always ben respect.
My exact experience. I'm a few tears down on lobby though im running 1:33 laps. Going to study your footage to get down to 1:30.
Well I was going to get GT7 but I think I will pass if this is what the online looks like on the American server. I was going to buy a wheel and try and compete but this changes my mind.
Don't give up, still a good game. F1 by codemasters is also good.
Last race i had a crowd of 6 just ramming each other 🤦♂️
Steveo is the worst too. Door slams/blocks and pushes in the corner. Then backs out! I’m happy when I find a clean lobby. But it’s rare
I’m having this exact issue with my lobbies too. Would love to report drivers.
This is why I’m not driving gt7 at the moment, cos it sucks, you get taken out cos they know who you are, I get it cos I’m lower ranked, dirty guys should be banned
This was This weekend in the Toyota g1 like carnage would be in 4th then punted to back of pack. P16 to p3 then sent to the realms "bumps racing" but isn't knowing when to break is too
Love it that Ben misses you completely. PD really needs to ban these dirty drivers so that they won’t ruin online lobbies.
I faced same situation in my first online as well. Some of the drivers are really unprofessional
Every race I enter in the NJ/NYC area. I don't step in Sport often because of idiots behind the wheel..like real life
We call that the Arkansas PIT Maneuver. lol
Great pointers, I’ve stopped racing for a while online due to these idiots, US are bad drivers but not all
This is why we see no Americans in F1😂
I can’t race with people like that. I will usually quit and find a new lobby. I don’t care what place I finish, I just want good racing! And I agree with all your tips. Half the time they wreck themselves!
Just moved from D to C in DR, it's still a bloodbath out there
Sadly, there's a long road ahead. Some of the worst drivers in-game are B/S rated. They have a bit of speed under their belts, so they can get themselves positioned for more subtle "moves" than the lower-rated rammers. Most of them have learned how to victimize themselves to the pen system, as well; which makes things even worse.
@@matthewcydylo9276 Man, it's scary.
Although I agree to certain extent I think lot the issue here is there just plain dirty drivers mate 👍
@@thekie25 True dat Kie
setting a qualifier barely even matter unless you are literally top split best of the best.
The problem is the awful algorithm, that polyphony should be sorting out....
that is why I only play Iracing
I think the solution can only come from a totally different way of addressing the issue- PD are moving towards the ongoing service model of their games and I believe that having dedicated race marshals/control like what a real life race series has, would solve all the problems. Like a moderator for a forum but making real time calls on the race action. No need to make a game code to simulate parameters when there are well established worldwide governing bodies that apply set rules they can follow with a real staff (PD) acting the role.
Green didn't deserve 2nd place
If they want to fix this it could be as easy as turning up the damage to the max for online games. If you bust up you car trying to wreck someone else it will discourage this quickly.
Something about the races this week, it's been really nasty.
It's nasty because they know they can get away with it.....
Just started out with GT7, studied the rules, practiced a ton before hitting online.....first race was continuously wiped out for doing better than others....then get penalized for it.......last time I will be playing online for me.....
You need to here your rank up, it’s the same with all ranked based racing, once you get out the low ranks the racing is actually generally really good 👍
@@thekie25 Thanks for the response! Will try that.....sub'd
I agree with everything in this video except 1 thing.... That's not a top lobby lol.
How he was not disqualified is beyond me,you did well keeping your cool, and then he goes on to finish on the podium 🤔.
I love how you got a pen and green didn't 😂
A unsport warning raport if you want to go in a car trunk to destroy the inflatable doll
They seriously need to do something about clowns like this. Completely ruins the experience.
This is what i deal with daily! There needs to be a way to report them or block them from match making with you.
6:34 P through
Need to have a penalty collection and after you collect x number of penalties you get suspended for x amount of races, when you get to race again it is at a probation period.
It's Ben Facking Rodddd the legendary driver that uses his sportmanship skills to ensure he stays a virgin for everrrrr
Have you watched the new lately? When was honor, chivalry and sportsmanship adjectives that could be used? Today you have to assume that everyone is an evil asshole until proven otherwise.
Entire week of race I wasn't able to finish they keep pushing me off every single time and spinning out.
they need to ghost out the people who ramming straight into the wall through you
Looks like TPC vigilante forced Ben into contact with you. I had a shocker playing dailies last night with constant dirty drivers forcing me off. 😒
I'm still racing on GT Sport and the racing has been really clean recently, I think all of the dirty drivers moved to GT7.
I hate to make the Brazilian observation, but there is no avoiding it. Most B/S-rated Brazilian drivers are absolute menaces.
Nascar has arguably the closest racing at the highest speeds if any series. So no, it's not nascar.
Heres my two cents:
Just create a couple lobbies for people to have their fun instead of racing seriously, you know, one where it doesnt count for your stats or progress or anything. Call it an arcade lobby or something.
This way if someone is just fucking around they can do that, and if they want to race "seriously" we can do that too. Win-win.
Nice vid. Loving GT7… why do some cars ghost out?
It’s suppose to be to avoid collision happening in certain situations but it’s never worked that well 👍
They should ghost out all lower ranked drivers by the factor of 2 meaning an A+ should have all B and below ghosted.
I got penalized atleast 3x during race trying to avoid hitting anyone and during those times I get hit off the track so it’s rough
I can say with 100% certainty that both of these drivers would have been sent into the shadow realm if I was you.
