These all look great! Love the idea of mixing metallics with regular speedpaints to get different metallic shades!

my question is answered, you can indeed mix the metallics with the normal speedpaints

Celestial Vindicators are actually a turquoise, not green, however that said that green gold looks really cool

Gotcha. I was a tossup between blue or green tint and I went green but that’s good to know! I do agree that Aztec Gold is a pretty cool color. Very unique.

Were you using a wet pallet? I’ve been reading that with these speedpaints it’s best to use a dry/plastic one to avoid risk of the paint absorbing through.

Yup and I have been for over a year and many many points worth of minis. I’ve never had an issue but I also run my wet palette pretty dry.
The reason some people may have issues is they soak their wet palettes. I don’t recommend that. Here’s a video I did on wet palettes:

Thanks for this. Timestamps for the paints themselves would've been appreciated or a list of which you used on which knights so we could skip there. However, still a great video thanks.

Thanks for doing this, been looking for a review for ages. Can I ask how bright is the polished silver compared to stormhost silver. I want to go for a really bright white silver, and trying to determine what's the better way to go. Either polished silver or stormhost silver?

You’re welcome! I haven’t used Stormhost Silver yet so I can’t really compare. But Polished Silver Speedpaint is pretty bright and it shows in the video. I’d say buy a bottle of it and give it a shot.

As one thick coat over smooth wide surfaces it looks decent but anything with edges or details it sucks a$$ as a "one coat paint". Dry brushing is a solution to that issue but it adds an extra step obviously. Without the drybrush it leaves nearly pure white on the raised edges.
Vallejo Metallic Air or regular Vallejo metallic paint with airbrush medium in a 2:1 paint to medium ratio gives you a fast, single coat paint with a wash and/or drybrush that looks much better in the same number of steps.
P.S. I did test speedpaint as a wash(2:1and 1:1) over standard metallic and I thought the result looked better than the standard wash you'd normally use.

@@McClane4Ever. good pointers. I’m an AP fan but I like Vallejo too.

    Pro Acryl primer.

Best airbrush primer on the market for sure!

      Do you thin it?

    • @no.6minis
      @no.6minis  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@SpoonyBard88 I generally don’t. It’s such a good primer that it can be run right out of the bottle. But if your airbrush is prone to clogging, use some flow
      Improver with it.
