In concept is a more interesting idea but im not sure if fans would have liked the idea of teens going into the dream world and kicking Freddy's ass for fun lol. It still would have been better than what we got though. New Line ended the Freddy series too early with Nightmare 6 they still could have kept that series going for more sequels. Nightmare 2 is the odd sequel out in the series as it connects to almost nothing and was totally ignored and forgotten in every sequel later.
a treatment isnt a finished product, thats a stupid statement to make. For all you know the execution would have been terrible. Comaprimg an idea you heard about to something that actually exists, just silly lol

Just think we have gotten - 3 Halloween movies - 3 Childs play movies and Tv show - 3 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies - 4 Saw Movies - Two Evil Dead Movies - Children of the corn sequel - Candyman remake - Hellraiser Remake Since the last Nightmare on elm street movie came out smh!
Can You Imagine Peter Jackson Directing The Sixth Installment Of Elm Street Ah Man. I Love Him Directing Dead Alive (AKA Braindead) This Would've Helped Or Hurt Peter's Career.

I would love a retcon on the Jamie Lloyd story, ignoring everything after 4. Film picks up with Jamie finally coming to terms with killing her foster mom. Her therapist convinces her it's time to return to Haddonfield to make amends with Rachel. She returns a few days before Halloween and tries to mend things with Rachel, who won't forgive her for killing her mom. She tells Jamie to stay away from her family(husband & teenage daughter Debra) and friends. Jamie calls her therapist distraught, and he agrees to come to Haddonfield. Meanwhile, one of Debra's friends is killed, seen in first person perspective wearing a mask. As the body count rises as Halloween approaches, everyone in Haddonfield thinks that Jamie has picked up where she left off as a child and is following in her uncle's shoes. The only person who believes Jamie is her therapist. We, the audience, are let in on the fact that Michael is in deed back as Halloween day begins.
The problem with a sequel a sequel to 4 is fans of 4 would want to see Jamie as the killer however you just can't do that because the majority of the audience just wants to see Michael killing people. This is part of the hate for Halloween Ends most fans just want to see Myers killing everyone in the same old style he always does.
Alice’s father is the only parent in the elm street franchise to actually have a character arc. Goes from a drunk deadbeat dad, to a caring father, and grandfather.
I still suffer from chronic nightmares & also sleep walk ever since I was a little girl and I am 47years old. The nightmares of Freddy Kruger are my worst dreams so far lol.
It’s crazy to think Peter Jackson, the brilliant mind behind The Lord of the Rings, the greatest movie trilogy of all time, almost directed a Nightmare movie! I think the fantasy visuals of his LotR films also fits the Nightmare franchise, as the trilogy has many horror and visually stunning moments, he probably carried some of his unused Nightmare ideas into LotR. He would have been such a good fit.
In concept is a more interesting idea but im not sure if fans would have liked the idea of teens going into the dream world and kicking Freddy's ass for fun lol. It still would have been better then what we got though.
I remember seeing most of the Elm St. movies in theater with my childhood friends. Unfortunately, most of them have died. It was a great time/place to grow up. 😢
Halloween 2018 was amazing, but Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends were just ok. Having said that, I loved seeing Michael finally get his deserved death in Halloween Ends.
@@stephenmiller2337that was a retcon mandated by the studio, so it can be disregarded. Both Jaime Lee Curtis & Chris Durand played the scene as if it were Michael & Laurie, even though they knew the studios plans for a sequel
“Halloween Kills” and “Halloween Dies” were far from okay, they were a burning pile of garbage followed by a total dumpster fire. Such a huge let down from 2018, an absolute lost chance.
Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” was better than “Halloween Kills” and much better than the train wreck of “Halloween Dies”, such a tragedy after how good “Halloween” was.
Jacksons treatment would have worked really well if you think about it, it would have lined up with Jason vs Freddy in the same way. Being weak he needs someone to strike fear into the elm street kids so he uses jason to do his dirty work but ends up not being able to control him leading to the end fight.
It should be Halloween vs Hellraiser. Imagine the movie opening with Pinhead standing near the industrial chipper that they put Michael Myers' body into at the end of Halloween Ends and putting his face back together on the ground like Frank Cotton's face at the beginning of the first Hellraiser..
I want an all new Freddy New actor. New look. No CGI. All practical. And I'd like to see it based loosely off his story arc in Freddys nightmare tv show. Where it shows him in court. And how he targets the detective and his twin daughters. The twins were written awesomely in that series.
I would've loved to see Peter Jacksons take on nightmare. But the comment about being thankful Blum house got Halloween up a running again did not age well.
The Halloween franchise has been rebooted a million times at this point. Nothing Blumhouse did will or could kill the series. Fans are just hating on the Blumhouse movies now because they are the newest versions of the character. It's the same as how fans started to shit on Halloween H20 after the first Blumhouse movie came out. Fans are fickle and mostly don't know what they want. The series will be rebooted again and it will again make money and the circle will continue. Halloween never needed to be a series the first movie said all that needed to be said about Michael Myers in concept the rest are just there.
The one good thing that came out of Peter Jackson's script is that New Line saw the talent that he had and ended up producing his "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy.
Damn, the Jackson film would have been awesome and meta in a really unique way, that would have come along right at the perfect time. "Freddy isn't scary any more" That refers to the audience AND the characters in the film, Freddy becomes a fun character they visit...not something scary. But then over the course of the film they learn to fear him again.
To be honest, Jackson's Freddy movie doesn't sound all that great. People bullying Freddy sounds pretty cheesy. And how do you make Freddy scary again after those scenes?
I feel like Jackson's movie could still be made. The time between Freddy's Dead and now been over 30 years and think it could work. I know Robert probably wouldn't be back but maybe something could be done.
I’m gonna say the obvious thing… Hellraiser needs the love and attention the story deserves. All these reboots and this is the one that has untapped potential.
So because Freddy is in dreams couldn’t they have put him into a bunch of cameos after the first one? Like every time someone dreams in a movie or tv show.
Would it not make sense fir Jacksons elm street to happen now? Its ideal for a late sequel no? Considered the plot and how we see the 80s now. There's nothing scary about a burn victim in red n green today. It makes total sense to me but I guess blum house will churn out some shit soon.
i would have loved to see that version of a nightmare on elm street. but i'm afraid if they did make a new one now, it would be heavily influenced by the studio and pushed for "Modern audiences"
You know, I like the reboot for the simple fact that, in the grand scheme of things in the original, you know Freddy Krueger was chased and framed for murders, and he wore revenge on the families, and he did that and a group from there in the new in the reboot he has a legitimate reason to seek his revenge because the kids lied about what he was doing the kids what caused his death death ultimately so this is a revenge movie that really took us took its toll and on top of that Freddy Krueger looked like an actual burn victim. I’ve seen so many war vets. We’ve been burned people who have third-degree burns look just like that Freddy Krueger, so that was more accurate to the result of being alive and yeah the movie was great. I enjoyed it I felt for Freddy instead of feeling for the teens I felt him I felt for him he is his pain he was killed because people lied about him and when you have a mom mentality, no one‘s willing to listen, I enjoyed it. I was so looking forward to sequel to that though see where they take it from there.
The new Halloween films were terrible. The original first two films are good, but the rest are just meh. There simply was no magic in any of the other films dealing with Michael Myers.
Jackson’s Elm Street film would’ve been great. But how the hell could you have said the Halloween franchise was in a good place with David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy? The best of the three was the first movie but Halloween Kills was a gore fest of gratuitous kills for no story reason and keeps saying a line that never gets paid off. And Halloween Ends was just the worst made Halloween movie in the entire franchise, it made Michael Myers the Robin sidekick to Corey’s Batman and for no reason whatsoever is also a love story. It ended in the worst possible way and I absolutely hope the next movie retcons the entire Green trilogy.
The Peter Jackson Elm St sounded so GOOD. The Halloween one HeLL NO LOL I know the Halloween one was old woodchipper unfortunately was Michaels fate yea End SUCKED
I dont like the retconning of Halloween original sequels. I prefer the OG sequels, Donald Pleasence's Dr Loomis should be reason enough. I like Halloween 2, and even 3 as a standalone, and I like the Jamie Lloyd character more than the Laurie Strode character. So I'd like a competent writer to tackle reviving Halloween in the same era as the OG film and sequels and give Jamie Lloyd more focus, her link to Michael and the ending of H4 was the direction I am most up for, evil Jamie on stabbing spree with her uncle. I dont care for Zombie's trilogy or that recent recton trilogy.
