A friend and I ride about 3 to 4 hours every Sunday, about 150 to 200 miles or so. One of his friends just got a new Harley and was going to ride with us until he found out we actually ride, so no, he'd rather just do a short trip from his house to the local biker bar to show it off and then ride back home.
In Alberta Canada, the most expensive Harley Davidson is the 2024 Harley-Davidson® FLTRXSE - CVO™ Road Glide™ at $63,975 before freight/PDI and 5% tax in Alberta….so about $69,063 out the door price from Calgary HD from their website. $70,000 for a motorcycle is ludicrous.
Agreed, Calgary Alberta here also and $70,000 for a Harley CVO is nut, especially in Calgary where you can ride maybe 8 months of the year, I can get the same enjoyment from my 2021 Street Glide that is long paid for, these guys who pay $500 a month for a motorcycle need their head examined
A few years ago there used to be a waiting list to buy a CVO at the Harley Davidson dealerships but now with the insane prices that they want for them they are sitting on the showroom floor collecting dust because most people can't afford them anymore.
I've rode this bike for 13000 miles now. I'll agree the suspension needs to be Wilbers auto adjust. Why would you want more electronics like suspension and windshields, when it only adds weight and cumbersomeness? Here in Texas and over the country I constantly listen to the music system and can rock and roll just fine @ 77 MPH. With the VVT engine, I average over 50 MPG, but not with a penalty over power. You get what you pay for, and for many, the base model is good enough. Don't ever purchase a CVO, because when you do, you'll never want to go back.
Just bought a used 2023 with 3K miles for $30K here in AZ. Could to do $50K for a 2024. So I am happy. Nice machine. Powerful. Corners well. Dark Platinum
Have had both the 2023 SGS and the 24 CVO…I still have the CVO and always will…it is a truly special motorcycle. One-for the-ages…maybe too strong but it is tops. SGS is a better value and offers 80% of the CVO…and definitely the choice for folks that want to personalize their bikes. I’m older now and it’s CVO all-day…but if younger I would go SGS and have fun with personal mods
How's the family? Noraly's going to be riding one of your favoutite bikes this year, weather's still dry in BC and my legs are healing, so we all may be riding at the same time in the next month. (Harleys have become the new Rolex, they're for show, but actually work okay. I've only ridden a dozen or so Harleys and my favourite was the XR1200 Euro spec-Sportster, and a Low Rider S , one out of my price range and the XR1200 became the bike to have on the West Coast and the price went up to Low Rider levels. $60K deal? sure that'd go over just [ha-ha] great.) I've heard a rumour about a new Sportster but not sure what engine it'll run. I'd love to see the old EVO back in dealerships. That was a great engine.

Nice watching your videos. You often stop and park your bike overlooking a lake while large cut stones next to the bike. I live east of Toronto and would like to know where that is as I'd enjoy the scenery.
Thanks. That lookout is on Highway 62 going up to Barry's Bay. It comes off the highway shortly before you get to the town of Combermere and overlooks the south side of Lake Kamanaskeg. If you ride there make sure you enjoy Old Barry's Bay road, Rockingham Road, Letterkenny Road and Quadeville Road. It's worth the ride from Toronto just to get up there and ride those.
They must be selling or Harley wouldn't build them. Rich urban professionals can drop this kind of dough and not even feel it. The rest of us ride the regular stuff.
Can I afford it? Absolutely! Will I buy it? Absolutely not! My M8 limited with upgraded sound system,seat etc is still 15 thousand less! In fact I still ride my 30 year old Heritage as well.
As with all bikes that have computer brains, there's ways to "Amp Up" the program? But w/ a $44K bike I don't think anyone would be screwing their warranty up or not early on in ownership? I've seen similar things w/ BMW bikes having to get thru their break-in period & several Dealer sponsored checkups. But any bike that can be dyno'd can be unleashed some? I doubt I'd ever have a need to do that but thanks for all the videos
You're welcome! When I had my Harley all I put on it was a Stage 1. I find Stage 2 cams change the relaxed character of the engine. I have to say, these engines are so huge that I don't remember ever riding a Harley and wishing for more power.
I know you're testing this bike but if I wanted more power, I'd sell her & pick up an H2 & have an extra $10,000 to take it to Las Vegas OR Not? I know people from a 1% MC group who did lots on engine work, in their living room. But I'm thinking these newer bikes can unleash a lot of unused power thru their ECU's ? Seems that a lot of newer bikes can be, "Uncorked" after the break in period but I'll be watching if you ever go thru an engine doing "stages" ? No thanks. I'll keep my 82 Honda VF 75 (V45). I've been riding for nearly 48 years and I still have no interest in owning a Hardley. Somebody once asked me " what if you won one in a raffle". My answer was " I'd swap it for a Goldwing". As I'm getting older and I don't bounce as well if I fall off It would have to be a Can am Ryker , as it's shaft drive, or a Spyder or something with a sidecar attached.
I test drove that exact bike and did not like it whatsoever The windshield is so small I couldn’t hardly even see with my glasses on because of the wind and I’m not a fan of the old digital gauges
No thanks. This is going to land in Australia at $70k Aud. To put that in context, average annual income, here, is a bit below $100 k. The median income is about half of that! I'll take the six cylinder Gold Wing tour with reverse and DSG transmission for $50k Aud, thanks, and spend the difference on motel rooms, B&B's and a take away meal, here and there... actual touring expenses.
So that's a down payment on a nice house and a nice pickup and a nice motorcycle. Notice I said and not or, like with 50k you can get all three of those things.
Don't complain about the weight then insist they add a bunch of electric motors on the things to lift windshields and diddle with the suspension. That crap ain't going to make them any lighter or more reliable. Buy a taller windshield and call it a day. HD suspension is fine for doing what they do. If you have a fat girlfriend and run out of clearance in the corners, jack up the preload. These are Harleys. You don't need automatic trannies and buttons to do everything for you. You grit your teeth, pull the clutch, and grimace damn it! Fun engineering trivia. When an engine's power delivery is linear i.e. straight up and to the right it will create flat torque graph. Just how the math works.

I found all the Harleys I've ridden and the one I owned to be pretty reliable. They are definitely lacking in standard features though.
