That, or we wind up with a Speedmaster "Bio Ceramic" bracelet on the MoonSwatch! That definitely wouldn't be the "full ceramic" bracelet I had in mind. Best, Tim
My pleasure! It's always fun to attack a new subject each week. I try to share a different kind of perspective than the other YT watch channels. Even if I don't get the views, I'm happy to be the only person in the space speaking to a specific topic each week. Best, Tim
Agreed. The 42mm size seems so obvious. I'd be shocked if we don't see a ceramic case in that size soon. Or, maybe we get a ceramic Pre-Moon case at 39.7mm. Both would be cool. We could get a black ceramic caliber 321 Ed White and nickname it the Ed Black. Best, Tim
Thanks for putting my pixels on this pixels Tim. Much appreciate.b🙏🏽 My bet on omega 2025: Omega SMP 38mm with no helium escape valve on precious metal. 😄
Interesting choice. I can imagine a mid-size Diver 300m. There used to be such a thing, the 2551.80. As for precious metal, I'm less certain. Maybe as a launch edition of some kind? Best, Tim
The Mazda definitely had volume, but I liked the 1990s Ferrari 333SP even better. First, because I remember the open cars of the period as my initiation to sports prototype racing. Second, because a punched out 4.0L Ferrari GP V12 in a Le Mans prototype sounded mental. I remember it had so much power that as late as 1998, the Kevin Doran's 333SP was catching that year's Le Mans winning Porsche 911 GT1-98 down the back straight at Road Atlanta. The Ferrari couldn't quite match the turbo Porsche out of the turns, but by the time the V12 came onto its cams at the end of the straight, only the braking zone could save the GT1. Best, Tim
Wow your memory is iron clad to remember details like that. I have a vivid recollection of my father taking me to the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach every year from the very early 70s when I was barely walking and talking. I saw some of the most rare Ferraris of all different types cross that little stage by the clubhouse on the green and have heard some of the most legendary 12 cylinder Ferraris revved to red line. Blowing smoke and a little flame to show the crowd why things are what they are. No cars I’ve ever heard at any race track match those notes and tones. One car guy to another, I noticed your Oldsmobile & Buick(?) shirts lately and I’ll just say my last 2 dogs were named Cutlass Supreme and Skylark GSX. Peace ✌🏽
One of the very rare moments I will disageee with you Tim: lugless Seamaster is a bad idea. The wear amd tear on the strap will be very pronounced. Comfort is reduced too. I love my Seamaster Planet Ocean (43.5 mm). I just wish it was thinner
No issues there. It could work exactly like the vintage Omega Dynamic. Check out how the lugless interface worked on those in the late 1960s, and you can see where I'm going with this. Best, Tim
Here's what I hope omega comes out with, their aqua terra shades in either 36 or 38 mm. And not the ladies model I want the men's line just shrunk down a few mm.
Well, we've had a 38mm Aqua Terra. Check out the older ones, because a few were even built as annual calendars. They're extremely worthwhile watches. Best, Tim
Okay, I bet you didn’t say this on purpose but I am dieing waiting for a ceramic bezel, Seamaster Diver 300 based GMT without the external relief valve. Maybe in a beautiful sky blue, moonlight black bezel and black dial with date and some white gold or polished steel touches. Include a rubber and black he speedmaster moonwatch professional steel bracelet. I have the new white dial sapphire sandwich with that bracelet and it is absolutely amazing. Maybe some additional adjustment would be nice but it really doesn’t need it! I wanted the one from the big guys but I am not sure that is ever going to happen.
Your multi-faceted critique about Omega's 8500 movement was fully on point, Tim, especially with respect to thickness. Any update or replacement movement will need integrated chronograph and integrated GMT versions as well. They really need to do away with the modular bolt-on-tops for these functions. I actually think they are waiting for the new movement before updating their Planet Oceans, to better address the wearability issue that you raised. So it actually may not launch in the De Ville line, as one might otherwise expect.
It's definitely time. With new developments on the movement essentially having run their course, the 8500 generation will be well remembered, but a clean slate is needed. A longer power reserve, thinner construction, and possibly a separate clean-slate chronograph with full integration of the complication -- no modular additions -- is the way to go. 16-20mm needs to be an extreme dive watch, not the average of mainstream models. You're spot-on that the Planet Ocean would be the ideal place to launch a new caliber family -- if it's profoundly slimmer than previous mechanisms. Best, Tim
I don't....and will never get "smash" burgers. All of the juices are taken out of the meat. I live in NYC and been to all of then. They add all of these sauces and BS to make up the taste. NO! Give me a burger medium rare/cheese/onion/tomato and that's it! Simple!
Full ceramic speedy would go insane
I'd love to see this. Full bracelet, too!
Best,
Tim
Oh no!! Watch prices are plummeting 1:54 and now Tim is cutting back by keeping the thermostat at 33 degrees to save money. 😂. Great video Tim!!!
You're not wrong about the temperature in that room. Thanks for watching!
Best,
Tim
I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those MoonSwatch releases make their way into the Speedmaster line
That, or we wind up with a Speedmaster "Bio Ceramic" bracelet on the MoonSwatch! That definitely wouldn't be the "full ceramic" bracelet I had in mind.

Thanks Tim for another fantastic and thought-provoking show!

enjoyed the show tim. ceramic speedmaster pro would be something! always admired the dark and grey sides but they're too large.

Tim’s hat is watch TH-cam’s biggest mystery!

Cheers Tim, very interesting subject today.
Respectfully, Le Mans and all, that Mazda guy has never driven a 12 cylinder Ferrari.
Any vintage.
Ok ✌🏽

The aventurine moonphase (professional) has a date around the moon.
Yes it does. But it's got a way to go before it becomes and annual or perpetual calendar.

Aqua terra shades is already 38mm.

Whats with the hat tim
It's cold!
speedmaster reduced
even better if there is also a quartz option. under 11mm thick
and don't use the "reduced" moniker. think of something more positive for the brand and buyer.
and automatic with micro-rotor
Hi Tim! Hoping to contribute to your list, though a bit late to the show!
My guess: a shaped (rectangular/squared) Museum re-edition of some kind (probably the kind nobody asked for)
Thanks Tim, great show.
Come on Tim, you look ridiculous.. embrace the bad haircut. It will grow out.
I just hope he’s okay.
Who cares if he wants to wear a hat 😭 relaxxxxx
Heck yeah, finally got a wrist shot in there!
