Re: spitting horse quarter. I have one uncirculated as purchased from mint in plastic capsule. how would I get I touch with you? your website shows "for sale" with no contact number.
It is 2020 as I write this and I just found my first "Spitting Horse" about a month ago. It was pretty circulated but still the "Spitting Horse" is still clearly visible. Thanks for sharing J&B. See ya in the next one.
hey JB..my 99 p delaware has berty instead of (liberty) and nited instead of (united) on the obverse..what you think its probably worth..I can send you pics..JB i would like if you could comment or let me know how to send you pics.
I was just looking through my coins and came across a Delaware quarter that looks really bad. I still gave it a look and I don't think it's damaged from being used. It looks like it was stamped by, with or over a different coin...I will have this one looked at for sure...
I have just found 3, 2008 P Alaska quarters with what appears to be 5 claws, one of which is split; and another one which has 5 clear well-defined claws.I haven't seen anything on the bear's claws abnormality. Is his a new discovery ? I now have to back track through a few hundred coins to check for other. Thank You...
I have a few state quarters errors Delaware with the reigns stopping middle of horse's neck form a z front part of saddle missing along with the horse's back sachel on rider different a Arizona quarter the banner missing letters in3 different places of banner Vermont quarter looks like the mans legs chopped up any help
I looked at my collection I have one uncirculated Spitting horse. Wow my first error in an uncirculated… Thanks so much for the info I wasn’t sure so I started looking throughout you tube Nice!
Coins like these make you wonder if there's more errors yet to be found on the state and national park quarters - there's so many designs that they had to make. Very cool error!
Found one at the coinshop in my town. He has large books full of uncirculated state, territories, and America the Beautiful quarters in 2×2s. Also gold colored small dollars from Sacajaweas through presidents. $1 for a quarter and $2-$3 for a $. Probably negotiable if you were to buy a few of them of course. I had been looking for one in circulation and actually found one in a low grade by searching a $500 bank box. It was pretty obvious to me but people who do not study coins just thought it was another scratch because there was plenty of PMD. I tried to explain that it was convex and not concave like a scratch; but again you wouldn't really be able to see that unless you studied coins and trained your eyes. Then I was waiting politely for the coin dealer to finish making a deal with another patron so casually looked through the quarter books. I hadn't really paid any attention to them before just because I assumed they had been looked through many times and probably wouldn't have any varieties, if they even had any to begin with because these things are naturally rare; some more than others. But I was very surprised to find 1 "spitting horse", like 5 homestead "leaky buckets", a couple different homestead DDRs that show in the windows and one that shows a nice part of the pumps handle and spout sort of in the window and in the wood, one that looks like the handle is moving up and down like someone is pumping it which I dont think is a DDR but more like the strike ghosting that happens particularly in the feilds on many of the new quarters and doesn't add value however it just happened to effect this particular coin in a way that adds something to the design that actually makes since and looks almost intentional made it collectable in my opinion. I'm in this for pleasure and for profit right? I like to collect things that may not be worth anything but they are fun and interesting. I think I'm most proud of my die clashes, die cracks, "bie" errors, extreme examples of strike doubleing, foreign and random tokens found in coinstar and even some in bank boxes of rolls, counter stamps and coins people made pretty nice carvings on, easy to find RPM's like dates that have over 100 MM varieties are a pretty sure thing and give me many hours if study to attribute exactly what RPM it is, and I find a lot of fake and altered coins. For instance, it would appear as though someone is practicing making fake ancient coins out of pennies. They use different parts of the design and it's really quite mindblowing. I don't even know how I figured this out cause to anyone else they just look like really messed up pennies but I can tell exactly what ancient coin they were trying to make and I'm starting to match them up and cataloging them with comoarison photos and arrows and everything. Once I get good at determining which ancient coins are authentic and which are questionable, I plan to make a purchase of very convincing but "less than genuine" and making a video/article ECT where I show a real one and a fake one and showing how one would go about trying to determine if it's counterfeit. And also taking it a step farther and dissecting, dissolving in chemicals, melting, using water displacement to determine mass, heating to specific temperatures and weighing to determine what the metal content is through gasterospectometry, making a liquid suspension and zapping it with a electrospecrometer. Once I have put together a fairly acedemic initial presentation of my research and I have the specimins in hand, I could probably present my research to a local college and perhaps gain permission to access their facilities to preform specific labs. Anyway this comment has gotten so far off topic and plunged into a dead spin down a wormhole of infinite speculation and grandiose narsassistic expression of my numismatic fantasies. LOL I'm working on a lot of projects that realistically may never get off the ground floor without some help and collaboration with a community of numismatic enthusiasts. Hit me up if you want to collaborate on some videos or something. I've got lots of ideas for videos but I'm no TH-camr so hit me up yo
Can you help me about the details delaware quarters i have . its a Denver mint not Philadelpia mint it looks like a spitting horse on the top of letter A is there any email i can send you the picture thank u .
I recently opened a roll of uncirculated 1999P from the bank and have two. One can be seen with naked eye and the other needs a little magnification, No one seems to have a handle on value. I am not a serious collector an willing to sell these beauties !
Ohh man @_@ EPIC find m8. I wonder how much it really is worth. Guess you could hype it up a bunch and tease the internet with it like this for a good while, create a good awareness of it then put it up for auction.
You're right, it IS on the Philadelphia coins, because I JUST found one in our tills at work today!!
