I looked at this quarter from my pocket and immediately thought it was a misprint... Due to the animals looking like a smudge(looks like animal cookies) I guess they all look like that... Bummer..

I bought a small table vise with soft jaws , snugged up my phone in the soft jaws..Then you lay your topic coins on clean poster board . Take that an sit on top of a thick cut. Something near the thickness of a house rug. bigger than the card board.. . focus Phone cameras. Slide the coins around in focus..Your camera will be perfectly still with zero movement.. I call it the perfect shot! Lol.. You my know this.. Just trying to help brother.Thanks

I got three 2017p penny's so far I still have that 2016p nickel die rotation
Only on Philadelphia mint, the Denver mint Effigy Mounds quarters we get in TN are as close to Proof as can be without cameo, but I cannot find any errors.....yet.

I got one myself, need to see if there is what you showed, but I am looking at the finish itself, instead of a nice mirror finish, I notice the one I have is more of a Matte Finish, not as shiny but more glossy then anything, just not a mirror like finish like the other State or US Park Coins I have, got a total of 7 (not in this year, but a bit older)
why is it that after the Statehood quarters, banks stopped carrying new uncirculated rolls, but Loomis does?
question I saw somewhere that a 1969 s penny is rare and worth a lot of money? I also want to know if a coroded 2017 p penny is an error and maybe valuable?

I ended up with one of these and kept it. Cleaned it up and it looks and polishes up just like silver. What kind of alloy is it? It doesn't even sound remotely like a normal quarter.
I've been keeping doubled rims and doubled letters like that too.

i just found a 2017 Effigy Mounds quarter that has a raised ridge on both sides and a smooth edge showing 2 dissimilar metals. Thought it was odd it didn't fit into a vending machine until I looked at it.

I purchased a box of quarters from the bank when I opened the box all the box carried were salt river bay quarters uncirculated the whole box has nothing else i also got 25 West Point quarters and one with the w but not the v75 on the left side

What do you think a 1977 quarter with a D mint mark would be worth, if the mint mark is just a blob, you cant really tell it's a D because it's completely filled in??
I have over $100.00 worth of brand spanking new EM quarters. What errors would be worth looking for? Some of the videos I've seen are spotlighting stuff that someone would really need a microscope to see and probably aren't worth saving...or getting graded and slabbed. But that said I really don't know what to look for.
Hi, I have a 1967 Kennedy half that came in a special mint set. It is uncirculated, is it of any value. It's very shiny, mirror like!
Probably Yes. You can send it to PCGS or HA.com Heritage Auctions FREE APPRAISAL and they will tell you what they think it is worth and if they would be interested in selling it at auction for you. Good Luck and please keep us posted. J&B

Error coins, I find is on practically every coin, in your pocket change.
I just got $250.00 in Quarters and after searching through I came out with over $100.00 worth of Effigy Mound quarters. Set them all aside to look at later but something of note.....what the hell are those things on the reverse? These are probably the ugliest quarters yet. They look like worn out play or stuffed animals! Also found seven 2009 quarters.

If the outer layer of cladding is coming off it sounds like you have de-lamination which is an error to keep. J&B

Correction it was the first T of Trust that has a D or O on it. At first glance I thought it was just a scratch but I took a photo with my iphone and zoomed in and saw it.

Hello I have a 1998 Washington quarter in very good condition . The mint shine is gone, but has no scratches . Also...it has no rim (not worn off.it rolled out of the mint this way.) Its most charming feature is what it states, "God We Rust." I am interested in selling but I do not trust the local dealer. Can you help me? thank-you.

I found an effigy error the other day. It's posted on the variety and errors coin forum. The creators initials at the bottom of the neck is completely smeared.

I have a Effigy Mounds Quarter where at the date a raised piece (line) of metal connects the top of the two in the date to the line above the date. This is very pronounced. Also, I have a second Effigy Mounds Quarter where there is first a spear of metal that extend from the left top of the seven in the date going across and through the top of the one, piercing it, and extending out a short distance past the left side of the top of the one. Moreover, there is a second spear of metal extending from the middle of the height of the seven extending to the left end of the top of the seven, piecing it, and then going across about 10 o'clock to the bottom of the line above the date. If that weren't enough on this same coin, there is also a spear of metal extending from the top of the two about 10 o'clock to the bottom of the line above the date. Wow!!! Start checking around the dates on these coins. I was shocked to find two different varieties of errors around and on the dates just picking up these coins in change on different days at the pizza shop I work at here in the South. BTW, each quarter had a Denver mint mark for everyones information.

Thanks! Now, if I can figure out a way to get a close picture of the errors to somehow post them? BTW, I noticed on eBay a few sellers selling Effigy coins with similar double die errors like on your coin. Prices range from $24 to $85. You definitely have error varieties of distinction and value. Also, it seems at least at this juncture in time, the Philadelphia coins have the double die issues at the word 'mounds' and the date, and the Denver coins have the die break spears issues around the date. Am I the only one that noticed the very first coins rear side rim is way offset towards the top to the point that there’s no rim from the m to s on mounds
Do you ever worry about scratching that one valuable end coin while opening the roll with the screwdriver? I think about that every time I watch you do that. I thought about that also when you used the butter knife.
Yep, I worry about it all the time. So now I carefully open from the side usually. And I now have a yellow toothpick to use as a pointer.
I use my fingernails to smooth out the rolled up paper on the end of the roll so can use the paper to put the quarters back in after search roll.
How can there be doubling on recessed lettering? Real question, not trolling.
If you have to use a microscope to spot an error, what's the point? For me, an 'error coin' is visible to the naked eye, mmaaaybe aided by a magnifying glass. Examining a potential error coin with a microscope is like ' we are trying too hard' , so the error is less significant. That's my 2 cents ( pun intended ). Still, love your vids
Grading companies do not use the "naked eye". The standard loupe they use is a 7X, plus they may wear glasses for reading which would add to that power. They also use up to 20X if necessary, which is the same power as the microscope and the naked eye. Magazines, websites, youtube channels, and Auction houses all use DSLR's or USB cameras with 20X-80X power in order to make the image large enough to print to show the detail. That's how the professionals do it.
