George was 14 year old guitarist. He was good enough to play for John. Then, good enough to. be invited to join John 16? Paul 15 in their band . George was only 17 when they were playing in Germany., The Quarry Men? The still the youngest Beatle. I think it is possible Lennon -McCartney saw George as.just the tagalong guitar playing no matter how good "little brother". Brilliant guitar on" While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and beautiful "My Sweet Lord" and fun ""Old Brown Shoe" and "I've Got My Mind Set On You" miss him and our world needs George in 2022. Thank you

I went to the same school as Paul & George not at the same time I hasten to add but you're exactly right. That's the way It was at school, you'd talk & know the younger lads but there was a real hierarchy in operation & that's the way Paul would've been with George. It wasn't a conscious decision it's just the way it was in a school that was all boys. The teachers wore these black capes & corporal punishment was the norm we'd be hit really hard on the arse with a cane or a plimsoll or on the outstretched palm of the hand with a wooden ruler. Looking back now it was archaic & just plain wrong, it was violent there'd be loads of fights, mass brawls between the different classes "forms" they were called & the music department was absolutely rubbish I didn't learn a thing, it was totally useless. Sorry I'm rattling on here but you're bang on the money with your comment about George & Lennon & McCartney.

Will Lee (bass player in this concert) has a great remembrance of playing this show on TH-cam ( th-cam.com/video/PATpcsZE3yE/w-d-xo.html ). I went to high school with Will in Coral Gables FL in 1968 and can attest that Will was a big Beatles fan even then. You can't see him very well in the video, but I know it must have been one of the highlights of his career. Will also played bass in Letterman's band for essentially every Letterman late night show. Imagine getting asked by GH to play in what turned out to be GH's last concert in London.

Agreed 100%. If I had to choose between anyone like J. Beck, Clapton or even Hendrix I would choose George's playing above anyone. He plays the SONG! His lead guitar playing for Beatles & Solo are thee most beautiful ever composed. Take away ANY of George's playing with The Beatles and their popularity would suffer greatly. He is/ was the icing on the cake. Please pass the word to listen to George's guitar playing.
Suggestion: Pick an album... whether it be 'All things must pass' or 'ANY solo album (Like Living In The Material World, Dark Horse or 'Gone Troppo" try to separate the GUITAR parts. (Sometimes there are 2 or 3 guitars. It's pretty much all George playing on his solo albums. (A few guests like Eric Clapton are featured here and there) George should definitely be listed as thee greatest guitar player of all time!

Thank you so much for compiling this video and posting it.
I was at this concert in 1992 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which George staged in support of the Natural Law Party. The UK was in the run up to its General Election.
I've been a Beatles fan all my life and George and John, in my humble opinion, were the Beatles. I heard that George was doing this gig while listening to the radio very early that morning before going to work (I worked at BBC Television Centre in West London at the time). I went to the Albert Hall during my lunch break and managed to get one of the very last available tickets. I had a seat in the Box directly across the auditorium facing the centre of the stage. Fortunately I was on an early shift and managed to leave work that evening and travelled back to the Albert Hall for the gig. I've been to very many concerts over the decades but this was one of the very, very best and most memorable. George and his band put on a brilliant show, as you can see from the video.
I saw George at a couple of Ravi Shankar concerts in London in the 1990s (the Barbican in the City of London, I seem to remember).
God Bless you, George. Thank you for your music and messages of peace. May you Rest in Eternal Peace.

I'm always hesitant to call a work of art "important" or "essential." Art is such a personal experience. But, no musical artist of his significance did fewer full live concerts than George. There exist only two filmed records of what he was like as a live solo headliner - "The Concert for Bangladesh" and this. No camera rehearsal, no multiple on-stage angles, but this captures what he was like 22 years into his solo career. I'd say that's pretty important. What a gift! Those of us who value George as an artist and a man are so grateful for your work.

Then when Rubber Soul was released, Think for Yourself was my favorite. Both lyrically dark but chromatically great songs. Another one I would suggest from a “ feel good” musical composition is Cracker box Palace. Just a sweet attitude about it. I’m sure Jeff Lynne was in the picture by then. Enjoy !

George’s last hurrah live in London. An ex-Beatle playing his songs. Quite rare and wonderful! He played Japan but not the US or Europe. He didn’t want to Tour anymore.
Thanks for uploading this great show!

OMG! this is great that was a fantastic day I will never forget it, it was on my birthday too and yes I was right at the front leaning on the stage I was about six feet away from George to his right. I was singing along to all his song's and I think he must of seen me as in the middle of a song 'Isn't A Pity' he leaned forward and said 'Hello' I was stunned, he was having such fun as you can see and it was just wonderful just seeing him so happy performing in front of a audience. It is tragic to think that nine years later he would be gone, my beloved George that day will always be with me.♥

I've heard him talk about how he shelved his guitars for the sitar and hardly played them for a long time. His time spent w Ravi on Sitar and studying Indian music really came back to help him play slide. His style is besides Elmore James probably the most copied style. No one plays slide like him. IMHO he was the best ever.

Lifelong Beatles and George fan, and have never seen this video in any form. Excellent, and amazed at how good George's voice was. I get chills watching this video. Sorry it was never released in any form. I luckily got to see him later that year (1992) in NY at the Bob Dylan tribute at Madison Square Garden. I rushed up close to stage and will never forget when George was introduced and played in his beautiful purple suit. A class act all the way!
