In 2011, in the Massai Mara reserve in Kenya, the Notes were walking through the territory with their children. Together they experienced a life of glory and domination. However, during the trek, one of the male cubs, only a few months old, was left behind due to the Notes' vast territory and their hunger for more land. This abandonment was a common practice among the Notes, who used to leave the prides they considered weakest behind, handing them over to other lions. At this point, the Notes had 11 prides that they visited from time to time, always needing to chase away other lions that ventured into their unprotected territory. Earl, the male cub left behind, was often mistaken as Notch's grandson when he was actually his son. Earl was destined to die, as a new male who took control of the pride could kill him because he was not of his lineage. However, by a stroke of luck or miracle, his story would take a different turn.
He would overcome all obstacles, displaying the formidable genetic honor that flowed through his veins. When the new leader arrived, Earless' mother hid him for weeks until his sisters went into heat, distracting the new dominant lion. So, she reinstated Earless to the pride, and the king, already satisfied, spared the little lion's life. As Earless grew, his muscles increasingly echoed his father's body structure. As new litters were born, Earless demonstrated her dominance over her pack brothers. However, it was clear that his life would be in danger again. Soon, he would be the only one in the group to enter puberty and, as he was not the son of the monarch who dominated the group, he ran the risk of being slaughtered by him. His strong personality was evident as he accompanied the lionesses during the hunt, displaying his innate talent for taking down large prey. He was a true leader, guiding his brothers and sisters and not allowing any of them to feed first. This differentiated personality was combined with exceptional musculature for his age.
