The Barbary Lion, also known as the Atlas Lion, is one of the deadliest felines the world has ever known. In the 20th century, this large lion dominated the areas in which it lived, to the point where prey shortages became a problem. With an imposing size and a predatory nature, the Barbalha lion ended up disappearing from the wild. They needed around 7 kg of meat per day, which made them merciless hunters, leading to the disappearance of their prey and, consequently, their own population. The few remaining lions were starving, becoming even more dangerous, which led humans to exterminate them. But what made the Barbalha lion such a strong feline? They lived in North Africa, Egypt and Morocco, adapting to various types of habitat, from tropical to cold climates, increasing their physical resistance. Although lions generally rest during the day and begin their activities at dusk, Barbalha lions have been observed walking miles under the scorching sun to find food, demonstrating impressive stamina.
