Thank you for the great video! Mine came in this afternoon, installed it using your lead. I had the same problem on both sides with the channel being too short for the rails to go flush with the header. I called BAK and emailed pictures, waiting to hear back. I don’t think it’s going to affect the performance, it seems like it’s more of a mistake in the instructions. Went ahead with the install & wouldn’t you know… they left out the hardware set to fasten the top end. I’ll run to the hardware store in the morning.
I think I’m going to really like it, but it’s frustrating when it doesn’t go as planned.
My ‘21 Taco Pro has holes at the top of each front corner where the head of the bed meets the sides… I anticipate some water getting in there, but the tonneau looks like it’s going to be watertight. God bless!

Did you ever figure out why it didn't line up? Having the same issue with my '17 Taco
must've been a factory defect. I didn't reach out to them yet. The modification that I made seemed to work well so I have not had any issues with it.

I think I can shed some light on the fit problem, because I had the same issue. And I called them out on it. This is a manufacturing defect. You have the rail that you slide those S clamps on - and if you can’t slide the clamps on and off from *both* ends (in other words, if one end is crimped so that the clamp can’t slide off), you’re going to have a fitment issue. They sent me a replacement rail and it worked fine. What is infuriating is their denial about the defect. I paid $100 extra for fast shipping, and in the end wasted that money waiting 2 weeks to fix THEIR problem that they won’t admit to.

Someone is selling me a 2005 -2015 one would it fit on a 2023 Tacoma ?

You don’t have a drop in bed liner. It’s a composite bed. You used the wrong bulkhead seal.
we called Bak and had it ordered directly and answered all their questions. They sent what they recommended.
I had this cover. Wait till it falls apart. Vinyl shrinks.
