- In this episode, we've finally reached our last fun day at sea, and we're off to a rocky start... there's a cold front coming through and the wind and waves are starting to pick up, but we're still rolling around the ship for some fun... brunch, games, a Q&A with Jess, our VIFP party, comedy, and more!! :D
We're aboard the Carnival Ecstasy for the second leg of our back-to-back cruises, which is a 5-Day Bahamas itinerary with calls in Princess Cays and Nassau out of Charleston, South Carolina! We sailed from February 6-10, 2019 on this second leg of the adventure.

Nah, we tried to switch the cabin at one point but we heard a few others who had it much worse so we just stayed put. We didn’t ask for anything above and beyond, hah.

Can’t wait to see yalls Alaska cruise. That’s on our bucket list but gonna have to wait couple more years dang plane tickets are so high. Also the conquest will always be near and dear to me. That’s the first ship I sailed on. Safe travels guys.

Nice cruise other than the stinky room and rough seas. Remember “step, step, pose” to get your footing. Nice to get the little notes and treats. Carnival seems to be into that lately. I cannot wait for your Legend Alaska vlogs since we go 5 weeks after you. Really hope 🤞they come out b4 we go. Counting on you to show us the way in Alaska.

“Laura you have a nice nose”😂😂😂😂😂😂. Going back through these vlogs is terrific!! The small ships still pack the fun of the bigger ones with less walking. Breeze and Dream are still my favorite ships. Hope y’all are well and looking forward to seeing the vlogs from your February cruises!!

Awww that's so nice of Davey! Our first 2 1/2 days on the Legend Jan 2018 and i pretty much lived on gingerale and they didn't have any green apple or i would have lived on that as well. I was on the Legend out of Aussie! OMG you will love the crew on the Legend! Jen the cruise director rocks!

We had some good waves in the way yo cozumel last year . We was on the first floor in oceanview and every once in awhile the waves would hit our window
That’s probably slightly unnerving. As long as you don’t see the water come up over the window and stay there... you’re probably okay, ha ha... yow!!
Love the vlogs. Where are you guys from? Do you drive to all the cruises or fly?
We’re just south of VA Beach so we drive to places like Baltimore or Charleston, but past that we typically fly.
Thanks for taking us along on another awesome cruise. Our roughest night at sea happened on our Inside Passage cruise.

Oh wow, we’ve heard it can get rough up Alaska way. We’re headed there in May but I don’t know if we’re getting into any typical rough areas or not. We shall see!! :D

I spent 13 years in the Navy in some of the roughest seas you could imagine and the only thing that truly works for sea sickness is the Scopolamine patch that goes behind your ear (not the natural one). 38 days in sea state 8 was my worst event and I would never go through that again.
Our tablemates were both couples that came to us through the channel. We love meeting folks, hah! We’ve never tried to patch... Dee gets by on Bonine and I’ve not had any issues yet, knock on wood!! :P
Hey jay. Our Airbnb just got cancelled in Charleston for cruise in October. Where was it that U stayed and does it have things to do close by and shuttle to terminal. We r staying for two days. Thanks for any help
Oh nooooo, that's no fun! We usually stay at the Hampton Inn University Blvd (on Fernwood Drive) in North Charleston, about 15-20 minutes from the port which saves us a little piece of driving. There isn't a ton to do right around the hotel, but they offer the parking, breakfast, and shuttle both ways in their park & cruise package. There are a few places right in town that other folks have recommended within walking distance of a lot of stuff, but we haven't stayed in town yet. Hmmm.
ParoDeeJay thanks jay. I’m looking at a place called seaside inn on the isla Palms area. Basically just a beach condo. But gonna look at ur place as well. Being we r there two days wanna be close to few things to do. Thanks bro

How long did the debarkation process take in Charleston?
We have priority debarkation, so we normally leave the ship as early as possible, before the lines build up at customs. We are normally through and out within about 15-20 minutes.

Thanks for the reply you will like the conquest this will be the fifth time for us on this ship also you will enjoy your milestone cruise 25th that 25% obc is a nice perk you will receive a diamond card on that cruise we did our 25th about a year ago with carnival we are now diamond members just saying nose not up in the air lol! I dont even wear my card around my neck I keep it in my pocket so not to show off! Nice perks with being diamond! Im sure you know all about have a great cruise!

Thankee! I believe our top five ships at the moment are Pride, Breeze, Horizon, Magic, Conquest. We love the smaller ships but it’s funny how our favorites seem to be the mid-to-large in Carnival’s scale, haaah...
What a great cruise vlog on the Ecstasy we just dialed on her March 10 sailing. So did you take your fruit with you off the ship? I remember watching the debarkation on the tv and Jess said if you took for example a banana 🍌 off the ship and were caught would cost a $300 fine/penalty. 🍌🍌🍌😏🤨😉😆
Oh heck no, ha ha... true, you're not allowed to take fresh fruit and such off the ship. We see abandoned bananas and apples and things around the terminal on the way out sometimes! Hope you had a great cruise!! :P

Jay you mentioned in your upcoming cruise vlog that you will receive 25% obc of what you paid in but when we did our milestone a year ago or so it was 25% obc of that paid ticket price of that cruise unless carnival has changed that ?
I was curious about that. The way they explained the program is that once you hit 25 (or technically 24 because they confirmed you can use the credit ON number 25 if you wish) that you have 18 months to select another cruise to apply the credit, but that the credit is based on the cruise of your choosing, not just number 25. We shall see!!
What State do you live in ?
We’re just south of VA Beach, not too far from the port of Norfolk. Too bad not much cruises out of there anymore!!
Your roughest seas May well be on your way to Bermuda. That was mine. What month are you going there?
Ahhh, this is true. We’re slated to hit Bermuda in September 2020. Hurricane season. Huzzah. :P
Yes Jay you are correct we used our milestone obc on our 27th cruise to Alaska an 8 day high $$ cruise also the milestone program web page says there is no cash value must be used on board! Not true! Lets say you have $500.00 obc you go to the casino put in your $500.00 obc in a slot machine play for a while cash out being up or down hopefully up say $550.00 cash out of machine go to cashier collect your $550.00 CASH! I called the diamond member phone # before I did this the rep. said I have done my homework and YES you can do that no problem I did it and walked away with some $$ Iam not a big gambler! and did not want to leave obc $$ on the table. Enjoy your last night on shjp ! ROCK ON !!

So after all these cruises, who has been your favorite cruise director? Hard to choose I know but would like your opinion.
That is hard to choose! Probably Dr. E, Matt Mitcham, and Mike Pack for a top three. We haven't sailed with Emma Nixon or the Flying Scotsman yet, and we've heard they're great as well.
ParoDeeJay the flying Scotsman was by far our favorite.
