All I hear is how “handsome” and “charming” he was. I just don’t see it. Perhaps he had a measure of charisma bc of his bravado . . . but he was just a despicable loser.

@@kayvee101 Okay, inaccuracies abound, here are some…. One he was not convicted of 20 murders, only 3 two from the Chi Omega killings and one from Kimberly Leach. He was not awaiting trial in 1978, because of the situation of the death penalty being affixed, and his previous escape attempts, he would not be allowed to travel to any other state for any trial. Any other state was looking for information to confirm their deaths were tied to Bundy, but there was never going to be a trial anywhere else. Otherwise the trials in Colorado and Utah would have already moved forward because they were already in the works when Bundy killed in Florida. The interviews that Bundy gave before his last stand in 1989 were never announced to the public. Back then such things were not broadcast out to the public. So, it was not a ploy for media attention as the video claims. But even in those interviews before his execution, he was only using those to possibly buy more time. The media circus whenever Bundy came to an execution date was palpable, but Bundy wasn’t playing to the media. Most of those interviews and the content within them were not released to the public until years after his execution. He wanted to bargain for more time. His ruse was often to appear as a graduate student or law student or whatever type of professional student he could… not limited to him portraying a freshman student. His rapes almost always were post mortem, after strangulation, after sometimes decapitation, or as close to the moment of death as possible. That’s why the confessions of rape almost never happen in the tapes because they occurred after death which Bundy could not bring himself to speak about openly. When Bundy escaped the first time he was at the Pitkin County Courthouse, 7 days later he was found and put back in jail. Then when he was transferred to Glenwood Springs where he escaped. Keppel did not seek out Bundy for the Green River Murders. Bundy reached out to Keppel about them saying that he had some insight that might help him out. Then Keppel was using the Green river murders to help find out details that would describe himself and his own pattern of behaviour. Also there are mixing of tapes from interviews from 1984, 85 and the last hope 89 interviews sprinkled about without regard for the time period of which they were given. The timing of each of those interviews changes the dynamics of what Bundy may be wanting to accomplish. If you use a sound bite of the 89 interviews in the middle of a discussion about the Green River then it confuses the purpose. The 84/85 interviews would naturally be Bundy trying to be the “expert” and also still maintaining his own innocence. Whereas the 89 interviews would be him desperately trying to buy more time to live. On the tape where Bundy is whispering, the reason that was given and well understood was that whenever an interview was given at this point, the guards would immediately be paid for any information leaking out about those interviews and he would whisper about the higher profile cases he spoke about not as a stage but to keep the information from being outed. Because if the information proved to be true and accurate and it came from Bundy and not some guard then, in his mind, the likelihood that he might have some influence on the governor of that state to put pressure on Florida to keep him from being executed might happen. And with his death bed confessions you do forget to mention that the interview with Dobson, he said (whether he meant it or not remains to be seen) that he was responsible for what he did. He did the interview and did everything that he could do to take the blame off of his family for what he became. Dobson had an agenda to fight pornography and whatnot, and Bundy played into that as a rationale for one reason he was led down that path but initially in that interview he took all the responsibility and blame for what he did.
