- Here comes one of my most elaborate videos: I show over 150 enemies and enemy variations from the Doom games from 1993 to 2020!I didn't include the mobile RPG games, because they are based on turn-based battles and don't match the gameplay tempo of the other games. I hope you enjoy the video and give me a Like, because I spent dozens of hours on this comparison.
I'll start the video with one of my favorite opponents: the Pinky/Demon. Which monster do you like best? Spider-Mastermind, Cyberdemon and Revenant I always like in the games.
The games I used for my video are Doom 1, 2, 3, 64, 2016 and Eternal. Final Doom, Brutal Doom etc. have the same opponent designs as Doom 1, 2 or 64, so there is no reason to show them separately.

What I like about Doom 3 is that it gives you a different perspective on how scary the demons are when you're just a human and not the Doomslayer.
I always thought it was a different doomslayer from an alternate universe or something.

I think the one model Doom 3 really improved on is the Hell Knight. Glad that design carried over to 2016 and Eternal

Doom 3 Arch-Vile was the scariest by design and by mannerisms.
I have played doom 1, 2 and 3. Doom 3 really gave the eeire feel because it was more horror styled.

I'd like to see the DOOM 3 Pinky return in a future game, but as it's own demon/monster (seperate from the actual Pinky), and rename it to something like Cyber Hell Hound, and maybe add some type of guns or something to it's mechanized legs. I'd also like to see the DOOM 64 design for the Pain Elemental return as it's own seperate monster/demon aswell, and maybe rework it to be more of a high priority support class demon who, rather than spitting Lost Souls, it instead steals your health, armour and ammo drops by sucking/inhaling them like a vacuum cleaner if you don't kill it fast enough.

I'm currently playing Doom 3 and I have to say, that even it's slower, way darker and less gorier than the other games, it's still fucking awesome. You can can traverse the world in your own way (to find hidden items), find and collect different weapons, to kill different types of demons and sometimes have to fight in the classic fast-paste style (which is Doom known for) just to stay alive and progress the game. Also: The constant reloading of the weapons makes this game more exciting and enjoyable harder to play. Doom 3 is a perfect balance between horror-game and fast-paste-action-shooter.
The Dread Knight is my favorite demon in Doom.

I love all six of these games. Each one is fantastic in its own way, and this series really highlights what games can achieve that movies, books, and other mediums can’t.
I will say though that Doom 3 could really use a color pallete swap and some updated graphics.

The best movie about Doom was the 2005 era starring Karl Urban and Dwayne Johnson. Doom: Annihilation wasn't equally as the 2005 Doom when they premiered for the movie theater. Doom franchise game is different than the Resident Evil franchise film and game because in the Resident Evil story explains who's responsible for infecting Raccoon City with the T-Virus. The answer was the Umbrella Corporation included Dr. James Marcus, Oswell E. Spencer, Albert Wesker, William Birkin, and Nicholai Ginovaeff.

Cyberdemon from 2016 and doom Eternal are supposedly 2 separate beings. One from 2016 might be a demon Lord

No, the Night Sentinels were the Argent people who sided with the Doom Slayer when they found out how argent energy was created, while the marauder stayed with on the Maykr and hell priests' side and got transformed into a demon.
They made a "cyber mancubus" variant for mancubus in doom 2016 as if he already wasnt cyber enough 💀
Doom has to have some of the most unique and iconic enemies in gaming.
Even though DOOM 3 isn't the best DOOM game, it has a lot of cool demon that I hope get used in future games. Trites and Vagaries are fucking spider demons that aren't Arachnotrons or the Spider Mastermind (I'm surprised that the Vagary hasn't been lewded yet, I mean it's a demonic Arachne), demons like the Maggots are pretty intimidating and could definitely be programmed to be fast moving quadrupedal demons that could climb on the walls. If anybody wants to Mod these demons into the modern DOOM games, I'm not stopping them.

Ok but I wonder if it having someone making a new Doom game and make it to have 2 version of story mode is play as Doomguy himself and play as a normal citizen/soldiers or the other aliens race to make us feel in the different perspective so the example would be like this
Play as citizen/soldier or the other aliens race: using full auto combat shotgun with 20 bullets just to kill 1 imp
Play as Doomguy: just use only 1 bullet of combat shotgun and 1 glory kill animation to kill 1 imp

They're fine tbh, the only demon that the game spawns when you're in goo are either fodders, Hell knight, or Arachnotron and they aren't too hard to kill

I always thought Doom (2016) had pretty dark ambience, but, damn, Doom 3's ambience looks like something straight out of a horror movie!
I only played classic doom 1 because that's the only available doom in our family computer before. But I can say that doom 3 is more eerie than the eternal. I find eternal quite gory with a touch of mobile legend style . Though I wish, I can dowload doom2, doom3 and eternal.
Feels useless to reply to a one year old comment, but it absolutely is horror movie like. I wouldn't exactly recommend the game if you want more of the gameplay style from the other Doom games. It's much slower and you are less powerful. However I would call it a very fun horror/shooter crossover. It scared me for a while, but its hard to be scared when you have a bunch of guns and a chainsaw which you eventually do. The pinkies are always scary though. I'd recommend the game as a whole.

Say what you will about Doom 3 but damn was that Hellknight design something else. Not only did he make the box art for that game, he changed the continuity of their look in the classic games to the new games without explanation

He looks a lot like an hd version of the classic barron. Just with the mauls and shield of course
Gladiator share similarities with classic hell knight, but not really a hell knight variant
It’s the last old hell knight the rest went extinct and were replace with the new versions
I consider it as one. Reason Hell Knight and not Baron, fur color. Knights/Barons are higher intellegence demons, so the fact it doesnt use green fire magic in my eyes is just due to its preference, bastard is likely too cocky or just prefers combat.
Edit: After collecting it's toy, i take back my opinion on it being a knight over the baron. Its pretty fleshy, just looks tan in the lighting of the boss fight.
I usually dislike this kind of videos, because they show only surface level of the subject. This one, on the other hand, is extensive as heck. Even such obscure guys as Shield Z-Sec, which shows just a few times in campaign, or Caco-Spectre, only one in the entire PSX Doom! Very well done!
I would like to add to this that this video even include the Green Mancubus in Doom 3 RoE, I'm amazed that they showed up here.

I really like doom 3s aesthetic. It’s not scary, just unsettling which works really well for what the game does. Doom 3 isn’t really a horror game like re7 or re8, it’s more a tense thriller action game with a cool take on the franchise. Also the old demon designs are probably the best (like the revenant and mancubus)
The best way i describe it to people is to not picture it as this fast paced Doom game, but more like a slowed paced horror story game like F.E.A.R. Finding and reading the PDA's and learning the story on the way makes it feel like action horror game. I got it the day it was released August 3rd, 2004, i was 12, and it truly was a scary game when it released. There was no real standard to how a 3D Doom should be . I have the original case and on the back it says "One of the scariest games ever made" by XBM which is Xbox Magazine and it got a 10/10. It really was a game changer when it came out. I mean look at it now and how good the graphics are for a game that came out in 2004.

I think what Doom Eternal could have done better is make do with a proper introduction to enemies like the Archvile, Cyberdemon, Baron of Hell and any new enemies along the way. It seems as though when you meet the new enemies besides the main bosses your just thrown in there without any warning, it’s just like, “here you go.” Such a missed opportunity of giving new enemies a proper introduction before you fight them. I mean in the gameplay at E3 they shown and introduction to the Arachnotron and the Archvile so I thought we would have gotten something like that in the final product. I guess my bad then for assuming that we would. I know that tactic is good for the surprise element but still, would’ve liked to have seen something like that. That’s the only major grip I have with the game though, I had a blast playing through its entirety.

Agreed. I would’ve loved a cinematic intro for every new enemy you meet in Doom Eternal. The first time I ran into an Archvile I was like, wait, is that an Archvile? I had no idea, it was kind of jarring.
LuckyHorseshoe 4 Exactly, and the worst part about it was when I first seen the Archvile in the E3 trailer and they shown him off the way they did, I was like: “man this is insane how they have come so far. I hope we get this kind of introduction with all the enemy types both new and old so we can appreciate the hard work and dedication the team managed to pull off, from going off of a 2 dimensional pixelated image of the original, so impressive.” And like I said I’m playing the game and I have to actually look for the Archvile when he first appears because I was like, “why are these enemies just spamming like in like that, that has never happened before.” Turn the corner, poof, there’s the Archvile, no warning or nothing. And the screeching that beast makes when you glory kill him is sooo well done. Would have been nice to get an intimidating introductive roar/screech, will him doing his signature move of putting up the fire. Like in the trailer. Count on Bethesda to ruin something good yet again. Bunch of cheap sluggers, I’m not even excited for the Fallout 76 Wastelanders DLC. Never touched that game, never will.
there were in old gameplay footages the reveal of the cyberdemon and the archvile, it was amazing, I wish they kept them.
Justin Ramsey You do realize Doom Eternal was not made by Bethesda, right? It was made by Id, published by Bethesda. They had very little say in development, if any. No need to scratch your hate-all-Bethesda itch on Id having a change of ideas for the game.
What I would have liked, instead of an auto-tutorial on how to defeat new enemies, is if during intro cutscenes, weak points on an enemy would briefly flash the same colors as stunned enemies ready for glory kill, signaling to the player, kill em here, while not being like “pause, here’s a tutorial”

It's one of my favorite Doom games
Its actually pretty good, and don't let appearances fool you, Doom 3 gets pretty fast paced

kinda sucks that they didn't do much with the Icon of Sin in Doom 2016, only really displaying him, but I'm glad they made him the final boss in Eternal. Also, Saboth/Sarge has to be the most unique boss in all of Doom. Mostly because I really like the concept of a boss with the BFG 9000.

Doom 3 took the original doom and basically turned the enemies into grotesque creatures, which is fitting for demons from hell.
The spectre in doom eternal was disappointing. You fought like 2 of them
Same with lost souls. They used to be a bigger enemy but they rarely show up
The Spectre is only cool if it is actually invisible but in doom 2016 and Eternal it's basically just a pinky with no textures.

@@theindestructibleone483 either way there is no point adding spectres if they aren't difficult to see. Also in Doom 2 they often showed up in dark rooms so they were actually effective

Actually , the Doom Marine In Doom 3 was pretty much Unfaced by anything he barely had Any reaction in the cutscenes, except Against the cyberdemon, That is the Only One where he showed Any emotion he kinda said "Fuck" And That was It
