@looseparts Hi looseparts :-) if the gaskets or pushrod tubes don't have the guide holes for the pushrods, that little wire-thingy makes life a lot easier to locate pushrods on rocker arms.
Hi GrassEngine :-) By "glassing" a case I mean placing the surface in question on a piece of plate glass with fine grinding paste and moving the case gently in figure 8 movements until surface is flat. A steel blade stays sharp and if used carefully will not damage the case, I sharpen it like a wood chisel and use the sloped side upwards. It will damage the casing if you are too rough though so gently does it.
Hi gordonemoore :-) I was quite pleased with the result of grinding them (it did not take a lot) after I got it running, my mate Jed gave me a set used but not damaged adjusters. So after I have done a few miles I will check tappets and most likely fit them then.
Lunmad when you use silicon is that silicon grease or is it silicon glue? Thanks for all your videos. I find them very informative and enjoyable to watch. Keep them coming ! Bing
Hi drumrooster :-) my gear lever and kick start shaft have a small oil leak they need new orings fitting. So I will do a g/box one before long, but right now its slight oil leak versus sunshine mmmmmmmmm! I think the sunshine just won :-D
John, doing same job this weekend, what do you mean by 'glassed' rocker cover join? I've got crappy old gasket to get off, why do you use a hacksaw blade as a scraper? does this not scratch too? Cheers. Mal.
Hi BostonNomads :-)
I usually just anneal the copper head gasket and reuse them.
I work on other people's bikes so I would have replaced the adjusters, but yours came out looking pretty good.
Excellent videos Lunmad !!! 5*
Thanks John, thought that was what you did, better go look in a skip for some glass now! Mal
VISE not VICE. BTW, absolutely love your videos.

Lunmad, I will gladly pay you to make and send me one of those custom wire pushrod holding tools!
Yes sure I would be glad to pay you for one! I will email you through youtube.
The tips on tappets are obviously hardened case hardened it isn't that deep you are very quickly into softer material ...
Hi overkill :-) if you want to pay me for one I'll make you one.
