Ann is like that really patience teacher that have been bombarded with stupidity but still does her job perfectly
I was thinking the same!
Ah someone put it into words
It really takes a lot to teach and she does it with wisdom ☺️
*Ann is like that really patient teacher, who has been bombarded with stupidity, but still does her job, perfectly.
You don't get to see behind the scenes 🤣 what if she raged a lot on those absurd videos
Can we take a moment to appreciate the woman who with the real and useful hack, and that Ann has asked us to support her? Truly wonderful.
I checked out her Instagram page. Her cakes are beautiful.
It's sad tho. As soon as Ann said she has only 27 views, I thought "so lemme guess, the hack *works*" 🙄 ... Ppl like sensational "OMG" content, they don't care if it's lies. Hence the popularity of 5 Min Crafts, et al.
I wonder what her viewer stats look like now!
Get off your high horse
Yes, a useful video but I'm concerned there are people who don't know storing food in an airtight container keeps it fresher for longer. I though that was common sense... it is not a hack.
the razor blades and strawberries makes me sick for some reason, it's so unnatural and dangerous for them to be together

5:13 Blossom actually stole that girls strawberry jar trick after this video came out! They have a video where they say to do it and it will keep strawberries from “molding” and that they can last “weeks on end” with it! Those thieves! They didn’t even credit her
They do that. They’re massive content farms. Poor Ozzie
How despisable of them! 😡
@@saudiphilippines It's what content farms do. People love it. They want garbage, they stay subscribed.
@@annnee6818 Garbage people subscribe to garbage channels.

I feel so bad for the employees of the store that had to deal with people filming blow torching an orange in the produce section. They probably had to clean jelly off the floor too.
Yeah and I hope that these people at least paid for the drilled orange because it is going to be dameged and spoil easier bc there is a hole in it. IdK if they brought the orange with jelly with them but if not I hope they paid for the cut orange too.
As someone who's worked in retail for years: the def doesn't pay for that, and some 16-year-old making min wage was forced to clean it up. Please stop going into stores and treating them like your own personal rage room. We don't get paid enough to deal w/ it and don't have the time allocated to deal w/ it and then get written up and yelled at by management for not dealing w/ it. #employeesarepeopletoo
They are the same people who "found" the 10k dive watch in a fish at the grocery store.
Yeah. You know that jelly went everywhere and they just giggled while walking away.
With her mask down too. Imagine being applauded as an Essential Worker and still getting verbally abused by people who refuse to wear a mask shouting conspiracy theories at you for a whole year, and while you're stocking stuff on the shelves, you turn your head and off in the distance you see an idiot with a camera recording another idiot with her mask down torching and drilling into an orange and blowing air with her mouth in the fruit section.
I love how she doesn’t only debunk them, she also shows how you would be able to do it

"Add razorblades to my strawberries"
Whenever you add razorblades to food, take a step back, think for a minute, and then maybe just... *don't do that*.
I laughed harder at this than I ever have Laughed at a TH-cam comment and I don’t know why
What happened to cutting off the stems & throwing strawberries (Without razors) into the electric chopper? There's a concept!!!!
Indeed
Maybe they should lol (dont eat razorblades but if someone is willingly putting it into their food i think they should get a taste of what they bargained for)
I know *tetanus*
Update: After watching this, I started storing my strawberries in glass jars, and it really does keep them fresher longer. It’s fantastic.
If I get lots of very ripe strawberries from the market I cut and simmer them with sugar... cool down and put in the fridge. Lasts for weeks. Great with yoghurt and smoothies. I've been keeping all my fruit and vegetables in glass jars for years. Much better than plastic. I'm no scientist but I believe the glass gets and stays colder. Keeping stuff fresher for longer. No plastic!
@@geneivemary4234 I think it's cus glass is so solid. It has no give, no bend, so once it is closed and sealed, it's airtight. Plastic has give. And it honestly doesn't matter how much give plastic has or not if you keep your fruits in the containers they come in, with all the holes. They have those holes to keep them fresh and misted in the grocery store, but they immediately work in the opposite way when you take them home cus now those holes no longer keep your fruit fresh but they make them age super quick in the fridge. Glass jars are the best way to go
@@yayalucia7997 what about metal containers 🤔
@@yayalucia7997 what I used was plastic container and some paper towels. It was fine as well, but it didn’t last for a week (probably because the paper towels dried them out) 😢
@@letsdoodlesomethinghome3404Strawberries are acidic. Not a great idea to store them in metal long term. Aluminum will probably stain the container and leech aluminum into your berries. Stainless steel is even worse, because it will have nickel and Chromium in it. You really don't want to eat those. So if you store berries in metal, eat them quickly.

It’s not a hack if it takes more effort to do the “hack” than to just...cut the strawberries with a cutting board and knife. God bless Ann for these videos.
I swear that most life hacks just make the task more difficult and destroys the tools. It's the cool, but inefficient approach.
Fr tho lol
My same thought process when seeing the potato "hack." Honestly a good knife does the job of most of these cooking hacks. Not to meantion, both easier and faster.
Well again the video said it's part of a "magic trick". Not supposed to be a hack
Epic Gardening does a similar thing to Ann w/ these content farms and he has 3 things that make a good hack 1) cheaper than conventional methods 2) easier/faster than conventional methods 3) works for the person/space. If it's not all three than it might be a fun/cute project but it's not a 'hack' (for food you could probably swap out 'good' with 'safe')
4:50 the fact you couldn't find the blades makes it terrifying. If a kid tried this, I doubt they'll remember how many they put inside
If a kid has access to blades there are several things wrong there
@@yessigabi12 when kids put their minds to do something they find a way, that's why videos like this are really irresponsible.
@@biazacha I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure kids I know do know blades are dangerous, If they manage to get blades it is on their parents not the video. But oh well, natural selection at its finest, I guess.

Well, as soon as I saw the info regarding your 'new' cookbook, PLUS THE CONTEST, I went to Amazon to get the book. I just LOVE getting cookbooks from folks I truly admire and trust regarding the info shared by them, and YOU are one of THE BEST! YES
I was thinking "the audacity of doing this in store, why didn't anyone stop them??"
Yessss I work at a grocery store as well. I have so many questions, how did they get in with a blowtorch and a drill? Why couldn't they just pay for the orange first then do the experiment at home? It pisses me off that they just did that in the middle of the store, mask down, and obviously didn't pay for the product they just totally destroyed - _- as essential workers that get paid minimum wage we shouldn't have to deal with this kind of tomfoolery
I lost it when I saw this comment-
@@EmilyLennoxchannel I’d like to think that they brought the oranges in after paying for them, but that’s wishful. As for doing it in a store, it’s to fool people and make it seem more legitimate. Filming in store means there’s people in the background that aren’t a part of your script. People are getting wise to these stupid fake videos, and if you film at home in a ‘studio esque’ setting, it’s easier to cut the footage to look legit, and we’re all getting more sceptical about that now.

@@sunshinem.7741 yes!
The time it took her to put the razor blades into the strawberries, she could have just cut them. I can't believe that these people are allowed to get away with spreading misinformation without giving notice that it's false or not real.
Also not only that, but shaking it around in a container is more likely to just smash the strawberry rather than miraculously and perfectly pushing a razor blade in that somehow got in between the wall and the strawberry at an angle around 90 degrees. It'd be so much better to actually intentionally cut strawberries in a way you KNOW will look nice rather than shaking a container and leaving it up to chance.
Because they make money. Obscene amounts of money. Which puts them above the rules. Look at the ads all over TH-cam; they range from borderline pornography to literally scams pushed by tiny companies in foreign countries pretending to be the US government. Yeah! Doesn't need to be glass, any airtight container will work as long as you don't wash the strawberries. Microbes in food generally need four things to grow - heat, oxygen, water, and the food itself - and by doing that you're dramatically reducing the three that you can affect. A simple understanding of microbes will carry you far in life.
How dare you assume that no one would buy your book, Anne! 🥺
We absolutely adore your intelligence in your content and having that in the form of a book is pure lush! 🖤

I hope this year brings happiness and prosperity to the world. I'm Pollack Sharman by name from Key west, Florida...where are you located if I may ask?
Honestly the second you said that jar hack had 27 views I knew that one was actually going to work
That’s sad when you think about it.
I visited their page and the cakes and desserts they make are truly beautiful, it is really pretty sad that the elements of social media and the youtube/facebook algorithms causes us to share these sensational garbage hacks instead of appreciating actual hard work 🥺
I know, it really is sad. Those fake creators probably get more views since they make so many videos, which makes them seen by more people. It's really sad social media doesn't favor quality over quantity

I love that she's releasing her book with not just recipes, but the food science of the recipes so you can get that recipe perfect. I will definitely be buying it. You know someone who puts so much into her content is going to be equally brilliant with this book.
I agree ☺️
Ann is like the mom who's amused when their little kid has an idea. Even though they already knew from the start that it's not going to work, they're still there to guide the kid along the way, testing it with them and then explaining why it doesn't work and suggests alternatives instead of ridiculing and just shutting down the idea. Mad props to you and congrats on your book
Also, this just keeps bugging me. That toaster hack is a full blown fire hazard. Toasters are not made to deal with fat and grease.
It really isn't. Toasters aren't made for it, sure, but they are made to prevent crumbs and other things from catching fire. And fat and grease don't catch fire that easily. Sure, you can burn them, but outright igniting them is near impossible (that's one of the main reasons why candles have a wick, just turning a bunch of fat on fire really doesn't work well).
Like, it's gonna be a pain in the arse to clean up a toaster after using it like that, but honestly, normal bread probably has a higher chance of causing a fire than a steak would, just because it's relatively dry and not very dense and it contains a lot of air.
I totally agree it's highly dangerous.
Even highly regarded companies have stated that following this hack will void the warranty. Basically they have no responsibility for your stupidness.
I'm sure I've said this before, but I love how much of a good sport your husband is. He looked terrified of that salty pear cocktail but he cheerfully tried it anyway for you.
The fact that the book has both Celsius and Fahrenheit... it's too good to be true!!

I don’t have Tiktok and my sister is forever sending me these “hacks” and after watching so many of your debunking videos I keep trying to tell her to be a bit more aware. I'd rather be useless than dangerous, lol.
i wouldnt call them useless, i think theyre fullfilling their purpose very well actually.... which is making money
I am so sick of these people lying in these videos I am so glad you are calling them out.
I'm stuck on the fact that the first people went into a store, just took an orange without paying, damaged it with a power tool, then used a BLOWTORCH, and filmed the occasional passerby without permission, all while not wearing a mask! WTH!
I know that was infuriating. How incredibly selfish. They could easily have bought the orange and done it in their home.
Right?! And these channels all have the audacity to try to absolve themselves of responsibility in their descriptions. So irresponsible!
All I could think
Lmao u think they used an orange from the store? They brought their own orange, why do you think there was jelly inside?

Ozzie's Jar Trick also seems to work fine with cucumbers.
Usually, they crumble fast in the fridge and I keep them out of it. But its really hot here rn, so i thought i'd clean them, cut them up and put them in clean jars, just to test it.
They don't lose much moisture at all and stay nice and fresh longer, also they are very refreshing when served cold rn.
I doubt you can keep them in there for 2 weeks without them getting moldy, but they don't usually survive a few days in my household anyway, so this is definitely an improvement.

same, since i live in a hot country, strawberries, lemons, blueberries are really expensive here
how much is it where youre from?
Also in regards to that toaster steak: DO NOT cook anything with liquids in them inside something that isn't rated for wet foods! At best you risk blowing a fuse in your house, and at worst you might short out the toaster because of the juices, or even make the whole casing conductive and risk a nasty shock...
It is a terrible idea. The grease could also heat up and catch on fire...and a grease fire is pretty hard to put out 😤😤
I thought the same thing like isn't that chick lucky as hell that she didn't electrocute herself??
@@Oswald_Thatendswald i think it was super fake. She probably cooked it in a pan, then put it in the toaster for like a couple seconds just to record, then edited the whole thing

The thing with [stereotypical] Facebook moms is, they're gullible, and they believe the lies if the video looks like it's real.
But they'll believe you if you're nice and charismatic enough and show exactly what's happening by doing it yourself.
Which is why Ann's videos are so special. A true icon. Thank you, Ann.
@@nodezsh I think part of it is that the people getting suckered didn't grow up with the internet and thus aren't as used to the sheer amount of lies and exaggeration that it shoves in your face daily. They don't know how to differentiate legitimate sources from nonsense sometimes.
@@konstance13 This is so true. I've showed my mom crafts and hacks that were fake and she's often surprised and genuinely confused as to why they would bother lying about something like cutting up fruit
@@konstance13 I find that ironic becuase they are the same people that told us to don't belive everithing you see on the internet.
For the strawberry in jars hack: YES!!! I was tired of my cluttered fridge and of vegetables drying out before I can eat them so I started putting everything in air tight containers, now my fridge is super tidy and the veggies last forever!
Wouldn't that cause some to mold though? I thought that keeping something in a continuous moist environment without oxygen could breed certain unwanted molds and bacteria but I could be wrong. It's why I store my mushrooms in the fridge in a closed paper lunch bag instead of unopened in those saran wrapped styrofoam containers because if they dry out you just re-hydrate them. Stored in the containers they get slimey and unusable.
I don't think I've ever managed to keep strawberries for two weeks without mold growing on them. Putting them in a glass jar isn't going to stop that unfortunately.
@@Croz89 When I buy strawberries, they're lucky to last 2 hours, much less 2 weeks.
Mhm! This is a good hack. Next time I go shopping im probably going to pick up some jars to try this out. Maybe not for strawberries but it seems like a tidy way to keep your produce fresh
I'm going to have to try this! I've been wanting strawberries lately
As a trained chef, some of these "hacks" annoy me to no end simply because I know they are fake but most people don't. I used to have to explain things to people but now I just find one of your videos and just ask them to watch it.
I would love a compilation of Dave test tasting these recipes!
It bothers me so much that those weirdos with the orange did that in the grocery store. It looks like they just grabbed an orange without paying for it. They also brought a drill and blowtorch into a place that you’re not supposed to.
That's what I said!
True! They would have made the fake orange beforehand but we have no way to know that at first glance lol!
Yea I wondered about that!
Rick Lax is a known "magician" on the internet, except his tricks are pretty easily debunked.

Cool

As a physics major in university, I found it impressive how well you were able to explain centrifugal force.
Ann might be a food scientist, but she is still an actual scientist.
She's a food scientist and food science also entails chemistry and physics
I misread your major as psychic at first and was for a second like 🤨😟😰🤬 lol
Sort of. She demonstrated circular motion while the "hack" had more to do with rotational motion.
As a person with two university degrees, a BA and BS, I find it adorable that a physics student doesn’t understand that a degree in food science involves having a working knowledge of many disciplines, including physics. (Do you see how condescending that sounds?)
The strawberry one triggered my anxiety. This is so dangerous, especially for children. Whoever thought of this should be arrested.
I'd say that it's dangerous for smaller children as those specific blades Ann is using don't stick into your skin without effort, while it can make cuts in the skin it usually doesn't do damage past that
You are literally out here saving people's lives. The video were you debunked the caramel splatter and showed how dangerous it was by melting the plastic was a God send for me. Please know I am unbelievably thankful for your channel.
You didn't know that scorching hot things were dangerous before? Wow, I guess you do still need a babysitter lol.
@@comedicsociopathy Yeah, I do. Will you babysit me? 😊
The problem is people who share these do believe them, nearly every single one. The fact that they are fake "magic tricks" should be made more obvious to prevent kids & unintelligent people from copying. You can't babysit everyone, so large sites like Facebook shouldn't promote such falsehoods. If people were forcing autistic children drink bleach in an attempt to "cure them" the gullibility & dangrousness of spreading such videos can not be underestimated. Unfornutly less discerning individuals think a high like number of likes makes it more reliable, as I said algorithms shouldn't promote/perpetuate this.

I really think the orange video was a total joke. They weren't trying to make anyone believe it.
Hey dude! It's a BLOWtorch for a reason!
Why is she using a blowtorch in a grocery store? I get that's it's Walmart and stores do sell blowtorches, but if any employees was altered or saw this happening they would've been escorted out for a potential threat of using a blowtorch to close to the products they have to sell.
