    Looks awesome. I'm interested to see the wiring side of the Versa stuff. I read that the ones in the Saturn Vue and some others are harder because of the control module. Nice work!! 👍👍

    Aside from the controller is there any computer needed?

      We will only be putting 12v power to the box, which will keep it in fail-safe mode (providing a 33mph assist level). For now, we will not have any control on the amount of assist. If someone wanted to be able to control the level of assist, there would need to be another computer...but we havent decided (or needed) to explore that yet.

    Doesn’t the Prius and Z has that same shaft size and even same tooth numbers - so you could just use a coupler…?!

      Oh dang! Well I know many people have the Saturn view conversion, so I'm sure it will work fine :)

    Why

    • @donwest5387
      @donwest5387 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      probably because of the "lump" under the hood

    I was going to try to put electric power steering from a Prius in the Re-A-Ranger but never got around to it. This is such a cool build and cant wait to see it done.

    Cant wait to see this done! Taking notes for my build. Are you doing manual control of the steering assist amount? or will the ECU control it?

    Awesome progress! I have a feeling now that you have a lathe, everything's going on the lathe 🤣

    • @WrenchChill
      @WrenchChill  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nick loves that little lathe! It lives on the workbench now and gets used on just about everything haha

    Great job, my only suggestion would be it may have been a good idea to drill a couple of holes and plug weld the shaft as well inside of the splines shaft on the electric steering. Great job, I’ve wanted to do this on my Firebird

    • @WrenchChill
      @WrenchChill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plug weld which portion? Everything that isn't attached with a u-joint is welded, besides the collapsible portion of the shaft 🙂

    • @xozindustries7451
      @xozindustries7451 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WrenchChill I mean in addition to where you welded the slip shaft to the splined shaft, I would have done two plug welds as extra security. It’s hard to explain in a text
