Within 70 seconds of watching your video I had an appreciation of the potential of this derelict structure. In doing the work oneself quality is assured and it enables funds to be allocated for materials rather than labour. The satisfaction of creating and knowing every aspect of one's home is incomparable to anything else. It is also forms a special bond between the couple that built it.
It's incredible what you guys have accomplished in 2 years. I started following after the 1 Year time-lapse and have enjoyed every video you have made since. I am so grateful that I have been able to watch the journey of this decrepit factory slowly come together to turn into the most beautiful home! I cannot wait to see what the final transformation ends up being!
I have a question... Where in the world did you two find each other. Literally a perfect family. I need a partner to have their hands messy like that. What a dream. Excellent building standards too guys,... wow!
Right??? My man has no interest in doing any manual labour and it's sometimes so frustrating because I'm not very tall so I can only do so much. We have to end up paying people for things we could have done ourselves 😔
If you found a girl/woman who only care about their nails, well they are not good for what you are looking for, thats the basic stuff you need to know, the rest like they know how to cook and do cleaning are your pov, good luck...
Find someone who’s father is a contractor or who has skills. More then likely those skills are passed down through the family, or the interest is there. If people never see the benefit of something young, it’s hard to engrave that into someone who’s been pampered. I’ve seen it so many times. In other words, if you want someone hard working find a country person who’s learned good work ethics
I am in complete awe at the sheer amount of work that went into this! Major props to you guys. Also what a gorgeous final product and we’ll-made video!
It’s really cool and I’m amazed by the amount of work put in, but it’s kinda sad to see all the brick and tile being covered up in such an old building. In my mind, that’s what makes renovating historic buildings so cool.
I've been in housing 45 years. This is a truly inspired renovation. Brilliant. One thing, I wish you could have saved that staircase and railing but I understand. Best regards from Indiana, USA.
I swear I feel exhausted Just by watching you do all that work Crazy I don’t mind painting a wall , or fixing a back yard or clean a garage or remodel a house… But to renovate a whole place like a construction work and turn a ruined factory to a house it’s way too much work Any way… great job ! Like speechless 😶
Not gonna lie, it broke my heart when you started covering the brick and exposed timber. Such a beautifully old building should be highlighted. This may as well have been a rebuild. That said, a lot of hard work and talent in this vid👌
I thought the same about many aspects of this. Still though.... you know the project is huge when the time-lapse video is almost a half hour long. ...and then says to be continued
Thinking same but taking a old warehouse that wasn’t meant to be lived in and turning in to a habitable dwelling is a big undertaking and completely different kind of structure. Different construction is required. Still you could definitely keep some beans and brick original as accent walls definitely. How we did our 1940 ranch house.

I completely appreciate all the hard work and joy you obviously took in this renovation. Unfortunately there is a part of me mourning the complete strip back and gloss over of everything that gave that building it's beautiful character and charm :(
I felt it too when they covered the brick and old floor tiles. Ultimately though, I'm just happy to see a couple getting to build their home together and have exactly what they want. What an amazing experience.
@@jen30551 same, and I guess all the good stuff is still there. They covered the walls in such a way that it could all be stripped back pretty easily if you wanted to
Oh my Goodness!!! That’s all I can say!!! This video was sooo satisfying. I wish I know how to do that kind of work. Here in MS we have so many abandoned buildings that I just want to breathe New Life into. From making it my own home to making it my store front to having an entire revitalized community that young people and old can appreciate. Keep up the good work.

This is gorgeous! And makes me wish I had made videos like this when my partner and I turned a barn into a passive solar home twenty years ago! The one thing I have learned with every renovation I have done then and since is to just expect everything will take at least three times longer than you plan for, and cost three times as much, if you are lucky:) Still, the results are always worth it. Great job, Rachel & Emilien!
@@kerenheka8430 Just seeing this. I am not sure if you are asking the Original Posters, or me. But, for me, it's always a culmination of desire, vision and economics: what do I want, does it exist, and what resources (including but not limited to, money) do I have to make it happen? Maybe that is why "move-in ready" has not been a phrase to describe any places I've lived in in a long time, and I've come to see that as a strength (though as I get older I may revisit that outlook:)
Omg, this was surprisingly inspiring for me!! I get so anxious when working on projects soooo much smaller than this (and not in construction) and it really gives me a wider point of view about team work, discipline, passion, perseverance and enjoying the path!

The satisfaction of creating and knowing every aspect of one's home is incomparable to anything else.
It is also forms a special bond between the couple that built it.
Les meilleurs moments c’est quand je les vois faire la danse du bonheur. L’accomplissement dans l’amour, rien de plus beau.
This was the most amazing thing i have seen in 76 years. And the teamwork just great.
There are no words to comprehend.
The human endurance that went into this is very impressive, like next level! Including filming the process, wow. Job well done!!
I'm obsessed with insulating my home, but you guys beat me! This a super energy efficient house! Congratulations on the beautiful outcome!

It broke my heart when they started bringing in the drywall 🥺
Well, they needed isolation. Those bricks were raw
Nah fuqq dat nasty brick🤮🙌
Not saying the bricks look amazing, there’s just something cool about things that are old
Came here for this comment lol that white brick could have made such a cool accent wall.
j'ai été bouche-bée tout du long de ce time lapse !!!
incroyable. Un rêve d'avoir ces connaissances en rénovation.
So far I am blown away! Unimaginable the amount of work you've done and the transformation! You all are awesome! Makes me feel like a slacker!
I've been in housing 45 years. This is a truly inspired renovation. Brilliant. One thing, I wish you could have saved that staircase and railing but I understand.
Best regards from Indiana, USA.
I dont care
@@alvanfauzulakbar3577 lmao look at this ten year old
I swear I feel exhausted
Just by watching you do all that work
Crazy
I don’t mind painting a wall , or fixing a back yard or clean a garage or remodel a house…
But to renovate a whole place like a construction work and turn a ruined factory to a house it’s way too much work
Any way… great job ! Like speechless 😶
They work with renovations. They made their house and an advertisement for their company at the same time.
The balls on you two. Badass . This place is going to be great. Can't wait to see the final results.
Not me crying when they covered that original blue tile. I thought it was gorgeous. Amazing feat of work though.
I agree - such a waste!
Saaaaaame, that tile would have kept the value of the house higher as well. Or at least they could have salvaged it for someone else to use it

That tile floor 😱 I'm in Stoke on Trent and that would be a hanging offence here lol
@@samanthabrooks6404 I was thinking the same thing when I saw nice older tile work getting covered.
Energy efficiency to make it livable and affordable must be the top priority.
Ficou maravilhosa a reforma da Cave! Parabéns. São valentes e esforçados.❤❤❤❤
Having done some renovations, I know the energy it takes for this kind of project. My hat is off to you!

The amount of work and undertaking here is absolutely insane. Tip of the cap, incredible job.
Incredible transformation, but I died inside when you chipped up and then screed over those beautiful original tiles!

This relationship 😍! I wish I had someone I could literally build a life with. The two of you work together so well. I hope you stay together forever!
I completely appreciate all the hard work and joy you obviously took in this renovation. Unfortunately there is a part of me mourning the complete strip back and gloss over of everything that gave that building it's beautiful character and charm :(
It hurt to see those brick walls covered

Oh man you guys have worked so hard on this. It’s going to be amazing. Can’t believe how much effort this must be taking, physical and mental, but it’s going to be awesome. Bon Courage!
How did you first start if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks for the timescale expectation tip!
This is so satisfying. Can't wait to see how it's gonna be in the final results. Best of luck to you both and your team!
Congratulations, it's a beautiful project, I really liked it, but what I liked the most is how well that couple is doing 💑 God bless you 🙏 👏👏👏👏👏👏
