Ifin you get to the New River Area of Virginia …it’s Truly spectacular … I was at Foster Falls State Park today class 2 rapids and many miles of class one river
Downed trees, etc. --- Just be aware this run is kept as "wild" as possible. The volunteers & concession owners who clear the spring run only remove the minimal amount of obstacles. You will come across areas that are hard to manage (ie. you'll probably get wet). :-)
can you tell me how you knew which routes to take? I did this with a guide 18 years ago and I would now like to take my wife and child down it. Any advice on maps, how to find it, where to camp? etc...
Juniper Springs has a campground right there. There are signs on the trail, but all you really have to do is go with the flow. There is one section with three possible routes but they all come back together again anyway. See the writeup of my 2003 trip report at http;//www.seakayak.ws under the trip report menu option and then the Southeast category.
I have watched this at least 50 times….and enjoyed it very much

Used to do this run every Easter with my folks. Wish I was there. Nice video.
Awesome video
Any alligators?
+Stan smith Never seen any but they are in the St. Johns River and Lake George so its possible.
+Hank McComas Went on it last summer. Saw about an 8 footer and a 6 footer in the two hours on the run.
Thanks for posting this. Enjoyed the scenery and putting it on my to do list.

Hello thanks for the footage of the run. Could you tell me what kind of paddle your using in this video and where you got it? Thanks.
Do they remove the down trees?

I did this in very low water. Lots of obstacles. The park does not allow inflatable kayaks so we had to rent a canoe. NO cell reception at take out.
Its a Cricket Paddle from Colorado.
Don't know how it was marked spam.
Can't believe someone would mark my earlier post as spam. I asked a simple question related to the video. Go figure.
