      No kidding, I am always mixed on doing a video for that reason lol. We have gone there twice on Sun-Tues now, and both times the park was really empty on the Mon & Tues! Thats my new strategy for all of the springs since they all have day use!

    I was born in 84 in Orlando Florida and raised, I still live here. I go here all the time but I like most other locals don’t call it Kelly park, we know it as Rock Springs as it was its former name. 78 degree water year round and always crystal clear water. You can find lots of shark teeth here because the natural spring keep pushing them up. It’s a great place to hang out at with family and friends. Great place and I really recommend going here.

    We lived in Florida from 1983 to 1995. We would take our two kid’s to Jonathan Dixon State Park. It is located in Hobe Sound, Fl. We loved going there. We would take a canoe and go down the river to trapper Nelson’s. We would see a lot of gators along the way. Most were under the canoe as we would go over them. We have awesome memories of our canoe trips & camping. Another year and we are moving back to south Florida. Can’t wait, love sunshine year round. Not crazy about shoveling snow. Yuk Yuk!!!!!

    Wow thank you so much for sharing this information. I used to come down there all the time with my parents we scuba dive and we've been to Troy Ginnie Springs Royal Ichetucknee River and all those places but now I'm much older and I have a 15 year old daughter and she's not too into scuba diving she just doesn't want any part of it this Kelly Park would be a great place to bring her because she is a water dog and she would absolutely love it and it sounds really reasonable to. I'm wondering if there's a better time to visit I'm sure it's crowded in the summer which is when we would be looking to come anyway thank you so much really really enjoyed your video.

      Thank You so much for your kind feedback! We also did a video of just the tube run, did you get to see it? It's called Florida's Natural Lazy River! If you can go on a weekday, you sometimes feel like you have the park to yourself. At least go before the summer break because, yes it gets crowded then. Hope you subscribe to our channel! Thanks again!

    Wow. Beautiful. I love the old, unbuiltup Florida. Definitely checking this out when we get down there again. Question though- what about gators? I mean that tubing looks one of those conveyor belt sushi places for gators- they just sit there while the food goes by. LOL. it seems like at springs people aren’t worried about gators- is it water or something? Just sub’d so haven’t checked out a lot of your other vids yet, but if you have not gone to Jon D Mizell Eula Johnson State Park and the Whiskey Creek Hideout I highly recommend it. Awesome place. In Ft Lauderdale.

      Welcome to our channel! If you check out our other episodes, you will see we have filmed 15 different springs now and our experience has been that most times you never even see gators at all, but we have never seen one at the spring head or swimming areas at a spring, park rangers have told us it's because the gators tend to stay up river where it it warmer! Just sharing what we have learned! Check out our Top 10 Springs in Florida episode, I think you will enjoy it!!

    Hello. A real question are there any alligators or crocodiles it looks beautiful . How deep is the lazy river. Thank you

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The depth varies between two feet and up to 4 feet in some parts. We have a video on the lazy river called, "Floridas Natural Lazy river", did you get to see that one? It will give you more perspective as I shot some nice underwater scenes! Our experience is, the gators stay up river where its warmer. I have been to 10 springs in the last year, and that has been the case, the springhead area is just too cold.

    • @CampTravelExplore

      They do have a day rate if you are not camping and they rent tubes right outside of the park, you can see that place towards the end in our video. If you are going just for a day, I recommend trying to go on a weekday as it will be less crowded. You will love it!

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You cannot fly a drone in Florida State Parks as far as I am aware. You can take off outside of a state park and film from the air in some instances and we have been able to do that a bit here and there. This video was a county park and is allowed as long as you don't bother guests.

    I like to drop my canoe in at Kings Landing and go down Rock Springs Run spending a couple of nights camping along the way to the Wekiva River. I get my camping permit at the Wekiwa Springs state park. It's state park land all the way down the Rock Springs Run. I have seen Otters , Wild Turkeys , Deer and even Florida's Black Bears while paddling and camping there.

      When we checked with the park ranger, she just asked us to take off from a designated area and stay away from guests as much as possible, thats why there is only a few clips that we shot. It is a county park, state parks you cannot fly. Thanks for checking it out also, don't know if they have further restricted it as this was a couple of years back.

    We love this place. We try and go a couple times a year. And what's great about camping there is you can go to the springs after the park closes and have it all to yourselves. It's perfect for my teenage kids (16,18 and a 20Y.O.) because it's big enough they can go off by themselves but not big enough for them to get lost or having to worry about them. Its not like I just let them wander all over but if you've been there you know what I mean. And that double site you mentioned is a pull through site. We always get 18,20 or 22 because its close to the bathroom's for the little ones and the swing set is there also.
