Welcome to the fold. I'm old as shit, I saw just half of a set from them at Ozzfest 2K1. I went home and got this record soon after. I had this CD book with Pantera in the front, then Slipknot, Mudvayne, SOAD, Manson, Sevendust, then went Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, etc. After one listen, I moved Trepanation and this record to the front. That's how badass this band was. I was a little disappointed by their other stuff, though I do like it. Idk what it is about this album, it's not as technically fantastic as like AILD or TAIM or Allegaeon, etc, or even some of the Melodic Metal at the time, but they just had the perfect sound on War of Art. Their aesthetics onstage added to the overall awe-inspiring experience, they should have kept the crazy makeup and extra musicians. It was like a beautiful circus of Metal perfection. I'm very picky about Metal, usually if a band doesn't solo or have extremely technical structure, I don't fucks with it. Yet, I still routinely listen to War of Art in it's entirety about 6-8 times per year...
Underappreciated, underrated and done dirty by life. AHC should've been one of those nu metal bands selling out arenas for anniversary tours.
