It really sucks that Dave died so young Drowning Pool would have been one of the biggest bands around if he was alive. Such a great talent lost to the world.
This song was very cathartic to me. I listened to it a lot on my last deployment in 2010 Afghanistan. I care deeply about my men, family and human life in general. When this song came on our internal speaker on the truck it really helped pacify negative thoughts about things that happened. It wasn't that I didn't really care, but the song somehow helped me process the many thoughts I had about the things I really cared deeply about.

I love this song and I'm a 62 year old female. I love the vibe and the way that these guys aren't afraid to throw this song right into everyone's f'ing face!!
Underrated? They were huge in the early 2000s. Ryan McCombs had a tough act to follow. He was heavily disrespected even though he kept this band alive for the better part of ten years but now we finally get new Soil which I prefer.

This isn't the first drowning pool song I was introduced to but it was the first one I've taken the time to actually listen to, this song is my most favorite on the sinner album. I was on my way to a cbat (Community based acute treatment) 3 years ago when I first heard this song, when I finally got home after 2 weeks I listened to this song a lot and then I listened to every song on sinner. I never thought that I would have liked every song on sinner, but I did. Edit: 2024, I'm 17 and still jamming to this. Time goes by fast, it feels like yesterday when I discovered the song. Every time I listen I'm hit with a wave of nostalgia, I wish I could go back, but that's not possible. I'm grateful for this song and I'm grateful to Dave Williams for putting out this masterpiece before he passed. Rest In peace Dave Williams, though I wasn't alive during the time, the legacy you left behind will always have a place in my heart 💙.
Brings back memories for all of us. For me, I first watched this music video on MTV Europe around 2002. I was in a hostel with one guy from Mexico City, one guy from Japan, and myself from Florida. This song broke the awkward silence as we didn't speak the same languages. I just remember we were sitting on bean bag chairs and there was nothing else in the room or on the walls except for a small TV on a tiny table. Good memories looking back, but I was broke as hell the whole time.

It really sucks that Dave died so young Drowning Pool would have been one of the biggest bands around if he was alive. Such a great talent lost to the world.
This was the first rock band I heard, thank you Drowning Pool
it's whatever you like
Artur Castro Same.
*metal
Mine too
Yeah, this song got me into rock and roll.
Very well put
you aren’t a hero buddy, you got deployed and used by your super power nation for false agendas harming poor civilians in their dystopia. people have woken up to you all
I'll never forget him. Drowning Pool was never the same but we have to appreciate the art he and Drowning Pool gave us! Cheers this one's for you!
THIS WAS SUCH A BANGER GROWING UP HOLY SHIT
🌎👨🚀🔫👨🚀 Always has been
Folks, I'm not saying it's not currently a banger. I'm simply acknowledging how much of A FUCKIN BANGER THIS WAS GROWING UP THATS ALL
@@luminousfortune cringe
@@luminousfortune it still is the norm, you're acting like every kid in existence in the 90's was a metalhead. Also nice cherry picking a singular playlist of mine with only rap in it and ignoring all the punk and metal ones. Average boomer thing to do I guess, point proven
Song is 20 years old and still has great meaning to this day.
Masterpiece is immortal. Great band and great loos to the music world.
Shits just as old as me man
Hear ya 🎶🎶🎶
Don’t make them like they use too!!
I had the opportunity to see these guys in concert, and they did not disappoint 🤘🏻
Same 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Same! Only once with Dave but seen em 4 times ❤️🔥🤘
This band would have been one of the BADDEST bands ever if R.I.P.
Back when mtv still aired good stuff
rip mtv v.v
+Justin Osei-owusu MTV classic just became a channel
What happened to MTV? i remember out of nowhere it dissapeared.
Thank you for putting an intelligent comment. That's fucking awesome
I miss the old MTV
My dad use to play this song all the time it would get me to into metal thanks dad
Same for me I played this song while my kids used to sing along in their car seats lol.

Gooooooooood

Pass it on....
this song became a part of my life ill never forget RIP Dave, Livelong Drowning pool 🤘
Absolute Killer track with what has to be one of the best intros and riffs of all time!
RIP Dave Willams RIP Drowning Pool
Sad, but true...
+Alpkaan Chaliloglou Right int the spot.
Kevin Is A Snitch UrFate. Yeah the singer in the video died
Kevin Is A Snitch UrFate. There is a new singer!
So sad that he died, drowning pool also died when he died
I didn't know he died, I thought the band broke up. I'm sad for him, I'm sad for them.
wait wtf, when did he die?
@@aziremperorofthesands6369 August 14 2002. At the age of 30.
@@lisalisa185 Died at Ozfest on their tour bus. Before they were supposed to perform
OverloadOverlord 😔😭😭😭😭😭
I love this song and I'm a 62 year old female. I love the vibe and the way that these guys aren't afraid to throw this song right into everyone's f'ing face!!
Dude this band had it and Dave was such a great voice he is truly missed
this is such an underrated band, they really don't get the love they deserve
Underrated? They were huge in the early 2000s. Ryan McCombs had a tough act to follow. He was heavily disrespected even though he kept this band alive for the better part of ten years but now we finally get new Soil which I prefer.
Primer 55
@@kirkmbutterfield I used to tour with Primer 55 every other year for about 6 years.
Drowning Pool with Dave Williams will forever be Legendary 👊🏽
This song right now is stopping me from hurting myself let’s go
Dave Williams mom was a substitute teacher in my school district in texas, she would talk to the whole class about him . Rip Dave Williams
The fact that he died at age 30 seems more depressing now that I'm older
same bro
No doubt it really shows how this man didn't get to even enjoy his own success.
Ikr :(
@andrew rosecrans indeed
I couldn't believe it when I heard. They announced on the radio on my way to work.
Who's listing in 2020!
Aye
Listening* but who really cares, right?
I am
from the underground forgotten basement yeah NU METAL FOReVEr
r/engrish
I love this song so fire
I hate how I hadn't listened to this song..... Thankfully I heard it through Spotify and now I cannot stop...
3:01 the best part. The guitar solo. ;)
Guitar solo is legend !
I was a freshman in high school when this came out. Some years later still banging my head to this sweet tune! R.I.P
This isn't a song about being selfish, it's about a hard lesson most of us have to learn
It’s actually about him being sick. He died shortly after the making of the first album.
@@_Roasted_Marshmallowy'all are both right, the harsh lesson of what happens when you give too much of yourself away, and the self affirmation for trying to will oneself out of the pit of sickness.
wbat is the lesson

No i care about you
Well... I had a really interesting story but go away anyways. Tis how I saved myself. Whoa, I like how I don't put as much effort into sh & my comment is way shorter 😁. I mean, I'm a female & just like to communicate my emos. I mean damn.
True.
Didn't ask
2:53 has always been my favorite part of the song, just the scream and the somewhat silence, and then "God damn I love me" with an epic solo.
Same
Can't believe Dave is gone for 20 years now... RIP.
Rip son… found a list of your favorite songs. You and your pain… I’m sorry, I tried to help. Love you and forever in my heart. Heaths mom- forever 25
"And Now, Wrestlemania X8, the showcase of the immortals"😎
Something told me to go back to the song and remember the good times that this band has been a big influence in my life. Thank you Dave. Rest easy up there.
16 year old me would wait by the radio and be ready to hit record when this song came on just because I loved that guitar interlude so much. I still do to this day
The Metal gods of rock took you guys too soon my old friends. You and DBD will be missed forever as your Legends will live on.
I remember Wrestle mania 18, saw drowning pool live, last time I saw Dave Williams perform, never will forget that night back in 2002, nothing will ever beat the late 90s- early 00s
This song has held up the test of time and through the ages. It holds the truest it ever has today.
R.I.P Dave still jamming everything in 2021 till i go
Thank you. From San Antonio Tx.
I was in prison in the UK when he died. Heard it on student radio (Demon FM, Leicester). What a cracking tune this is.
Daves stage presence, charisma was unmatched. Best of us always go early, Rest in Peace Dave "The Scene"
Que nostalgia, amo está canción sobre todo fue el tema oficial de WWE Wrestlemania X8.

imho, Drowning Pool died when Dave died. RIP man.
JC Denton drowning pool literally drowned
What a shame. He was a good man.
Desensitized was good.
If cj.pierce died you'd be saying same shit dave williams and cj.pierce were drowning pool the sound! the guitars and the vocals!...real fans still enjoy cj's guitar playing js i love the guy just as much as dave.
@@billybobbob3003 cj came to my music store. He's cool
“I don’t care about anyone else but me, I... don’t care about anyone..or anything.....-(Damn I love me)”
I felt that😔🥰
Me too
Classic,period.
Hits you in the feels right. He actually says (damn I'm lonely) which is kinda sadder
Jacob Burgess damn I didn’t know & that’s sad af
Jacob Burgess pretty sure that’s wrong, every lyric video and if you google it it says “goddamn I love me”
RIP Dave. Hope your well in heaven!
Dave explained meaning to this song "Everybody at one time or another in their life needs to say, 'Forget Everybody else, I need to deal with me. I need to take care of myself'".
at 1:22 , its the guy from the "bodies" music video lol
Oh yeah!!
Si true damnit hahaha xD I love the look on that guy's face
i think he's a member of this band
I thought it had been the only one to notice
Holy shit, did the old man escape that mental hospital and kept at staring at some shit without speaking?
19 years….Can’t believe you were taken from us you were an amazing vocalist/musician rest in paradise 🤘🏻🤟🏻🤘🏻🤟🏻🤘🏻
@Railqun I would imagine they would have continued to become much more successful but in his short time making music he definitely managed to leave a huge mark he sound is timeless 😭
RIP Dave 1 album is all it took to die a legend and is still to this day one of the most iconic albums ever sinner was a masterpiece full of classics Bodies is still easily one of the most recognizable and again iconic songs in rock history
R. I. P Dave but ur is still on my mind, 2000 era when metallic music all over the head...
I'm sorry but the Sinner album is better than 94% of what Drowning Pool has put out since.
I mean right after this album was released the lead singer killed himself which is sad as fuck
No he didn't. He had a heart condition.
conor 97hx Exactly! I hate when people have to assume shit like that and spread it around. Know what you are talking about before saying shit.
Oh wow yeah tear away. Very deep.
Desensitized was a good album.
R.I.P Dave Williams
Still so awesome, even to this day.
R.I.P Dave Willams
.
One of the best nu-metal bands . Rest in peace Dave 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
3:59 This ending is so good how all the instruments tone down and its just Dave
It's 2020 and this is still one of my go to songs...
