I'm sharing a spring tour all inspired by the Appalachian farmhouses and cabins and using only things I had, could make or borrow from mother🙂 Quilts, feed sack towels, white lace curtains, floral pillows, chenille and vintage china are a few of the things I'm using. I have an old glass oil lamp similar to some of the ones I have seen in your videos. Up until now I have never used them, they have mostly been just for decor as I love the way they look and have been attracted to them since I was little. I was thinking I should actually use them. They have all of their pieces and are in great condition. What kind of oil do you use in yours? I see medallion lamp oil, paraffin lamp oil etc. I don’t want to ruin them so I thought I would ask someone with some knowledge on this. I appreciate the help!
Sweet Anita, your spring home is a place of comfort. You are so right about "farmhouse" . It is not a decor it is a way of life. My grandma's farmhouse was so like yours, filled with family things that evoke memories. As you spoke of sitting at your table with lamplight and coffee, I was immediately taken back to sitting at grandma's table enjoying her sweet countenance with coffee from her old granite coffee pot. Yes, exactly!! I look at my maternal grandmother, especially as they farmers, and how she lived, and it’s nothing like I see associated with “farmhouse,” and I think that style deserves to be shared and loved☺️☺️
The sheer curtains are pulled back, and the sun is shining in everywhere except behind the couch, and I prefer it to be filtered there because it gets very bright, as you can see how bright it is shining in on my chaise lounge.

Hi sweet friend! Oh how refreshing to see a Spring makeover using the simplest things! I love it. Breezy, light and country farmhouse are my love language. Everything is so pretty Anita! I see you got some chicken’s! Our hens started laying in February. Ten-twelve eggs daily! I have enough to supply my mom, my husband’s brother, mom & dad and an occasional friend. It feels so good to take care of those you love😊

We always free ranged them, but the hawks have seriously taken up residence, and I love them too, but we didn’t want them to take the new chicks☺️☺️ We’ve never had Buff Orpington before either, and they are the sweetest!!

No it is not old - however, for the last 15 years I have been restoring and installing wood trim, doors, bead board, etc., that was in the early 1900s Victorian house my daddy grew up in on this property. It was torn down in 1960 and all the architectural elements saved and stored for 50 years before I started restoring to use in our house☺️

Anita-thank your this beautiful glimpse into your home and property-truly beautiful. This video brought me so much joy and inspiration. The quotes you shared at the end was so fitting-I would just love to have a cottage in the country -maybe someday- but for now I will love the little city cottage I have and try to make it a place of comfort and beauty for my family. Truly being content where we are in life is what I think God wants us to do-as his word teaches us. My prayer is that I will just be used of Him daily in this hurting world. Hi sweet friend! Oh how refreshing to see a Spring makeover using the simplest things! I love it. Breezy, light and country farmhouse are my love language. Everything is so pretty Anita! I see you got some chicken’s! Our hens started laying in February. Ten-twelve eggs daily! I have enough to supply my mom, my husband’s brother, mom & dad and an occasional friend. It feels so good to take care of those you love😊

We always free ranged them, but the hawks have seriously taken up residence, and I love them too, but we didn’t want them to take the new chicks☺️☺️ We’ve never had Buff Orpington before either, and they are the sweetest!!

No it is not old - however, for the last 15 years I have been restoring and installing wood trim, doors, bead board, etc., that was in the early 1900s Victorian house my daddy grew up in on this property. It was torn down in 1960 and all the architectural elements saved and stored for 50 years before I started restoring to use in our house☺️
