- Hi friends! I'm sharing my fall kitchen and also some changes I made this summer as well as the inspiration for all of it!! Of course I foraged outside and sewed more than one sink skirt and curtains, but I love trying to create things to make my home cozy:-)

I visited Bakersville, NC, where my family originates from, each summer as a child and only once have I seen NC in the dead of winter which was in January 1977 when my father passed away and we brought his body back to his beloved mountains. I have never been privileged to see NC in all its autumn splendor, but I have caught many glimpses when I began following your account. It is incredibly beautiful. Your home is also incredibly beautiful. Each time someone mentions I should possibly declutter or lighten up my home, I see one of your posts and it reminds me how beautiful "things" and color can be when done right. Your kitchen is an absolute stunner and I love the way your change it for each season. You are an amazing homemaker/decorator, and I appreciate all the inspiration you provide.

You made my night! The Waltons kitchen was the inspiration for my kitchen too❤. My house is all done in a very primitive style, oil lamps, old kitchen utensils, old cutting boards, etc and actually use all of them. Love how you did the runner too. Now that it’s a cool gorgeously autumn here in upstate New York, my favorite season that touches my soul🤎🍁🤎🍂 it’s the time to cozy up with fabrics, cozy candles, oil lamps, sewing and crafting, baking, etc…things that I just can’t do in the heat of the summer. I have old wooden spoons, butter molds and kitchen utensils in small old crocks, mason jars to hold things near my coffee maker, apothecary jars from yard sales filled with old tin cookie cutters, etc and just love it. You’ve done an awesome job, so cozy, warm and welcoming, great video❤

As usual you don't disappoint. What my wife and I appreciate about your decorum is you use the antiques. We've seen other homes that with antiques that are simply displays and not incorporated into everyday life. Ine home had a collection of rolling pins hanging a wall. Never used just hanging there. The antiques looked out of place and looked like the owner didn't love them. Your antiques are loved because you use them and make them a real part of your home. Material is perfect.

I am pleasantly surprised to know where your inspiration came from. I too have been obsessed with the Walton kitchen and the whole house. I have spent lots of time studying them and emulating what I could. I am happy to know I am not the only one. Your kitchen looks great and I was very excited to see you had posted a new video. Love that material,I’ve wanted glass doors on my cabinets for years ,This house we removed most of the doors and have open top cabinets,Just a couple weeks ago I suggested to my husband I’d love glass doors put on the cabinets,he was wondering if we still had the doors ,though they were only plain flat doors he said he could cut openings in them .I ve kept quiet for a while about them as we’ve just put a new floor in the family room which took longer and harder to do than thought.He’s still getting over it haha.Incidently we used thick plywood that were approx 1 meter square each ,I drew lines on them to look like planks and stenciled wording on them to make them look like old wooden tea chest packing boxes ,it turned out great .

I love that fabric. I don’t know how to sew. So I can’t make my own runners or anything else☹️
There are probably some ways to do that without sewing - maybe just fraying the edges or using fabric glue🤔🤔☺️☺️

Hello! I am new to your channel and just love your vibe, seriously. Could you tell me if you made those candle holders that are kind of like that brownish golden glass on the kitchen table?? I love them so much!❤ also, I’m starting to see a lot of people using the oil lanterns again… Do you know about any pros and cons of inhaling the fumes it gives off? I’m so intrigued by that.❤

I have a friend who makes the candles in depression glass - Sherri @illuminationsvintage on IG and facebook☺️ I have been using a clear oil just for lamps but it’s been out of stock for a couple years, and I’m about out, so I’m going to order the Firefly kosher clean lamp oil from amazon. I don’t burn them long unless the power is out, and I always have a window cracked. Also I’ve read that Aladdin lamp oil is excellent as well and clean/no odor.
