Introducing: Touch Bass!
Touch Bass is part of the Simple Touch family. Touch Bass is a powerhouse polyphonic subtractive synthesizer packed with features! Built-in arpeggiator, Euclidean rhythms, internal modulations, reverb, and more. In this video, I attempt to play three units simultaneously to create a stereo-rhythmic sound experience! Tune in to see if I succeed or if it's just a cacophony of chaos. Spoiler: it's going to be epic either way!

Desoldering can be very frustrating, unless you know this trick
มุมมอง 2.8K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Desoldering can be quite easy if you don't try to force a component out. In this tutorial, we're desoldering two jack sockets, once using a pump and once using solder wick. I also accidentally ruined one of the PCB copper pads, so in the end of the video we're fixing the PCB board with a little wire. Clear and concise. I'm a sound designer/composer for time based media such as film and doco's, and have been asked to create sound for an installation. Lots here to think about for modular systems. My goal is different. It is to have the sensors within the room trigger pre-designed audio samples playing back into a quad speaker setup. I don't have much of a clue as to what gear is needed to achieve this. Tutorials as well presented as your's will help a lot. I'll chip away at it and figure it out. I going to try and avoid coding and find some kind of existing apparatus we can put together. Thanks for making us and I aware of this particular modular system.

    • @SynthuxAcademy
      @SynthuxAcademy หลายเดือนก่อน

      PCB boards are transparent, essentially. Each side of the board gets a copper layer (F.Cu and B.Cu) and a solder mask layer (F.Mask and B.Mask). If you leave areas with no copper or mask, on both sides, you’ll get a transparent area. Hope this helps. Join our Discord community to share your result :) I’m curious what you’re working on.

    It is fascinating to hear how these projects start, and at the same time scary to hear how you work in a large corporation and have people 2 cubicles away that make groundbreaking tech you have access to, and then you may leave that company and start your own product and potentially make something that could be inspired by what you saw there. I doubt that Intel will ever watch this interview, but it is always good to break down where a product relation with your previous employer may stop, to avoid any potential problem in the future.

    hi there, total newbie in using kicad here... i've tried to follow your instructions for building my own front panel... just a simple one: a few holes and words here and there. for words a used the text function on the front copper layer because you said to add graphics there... since i saw there was text in your design as well, i assumed that you "wrote" those words on the front copper side (using the text function) as you did for circles and lines... i was hoping the soldering mask wouldn't cover the text (as in your design), but i was wrong... how can i make my writings cut through the soldering mask just like in your design?

    in the video you say that the analog inputs are 30 to 34. Is this an older revision of the Seed? On the schematics online it says 22 to 32 for the ADC inputs. Or do the numbers on the board not correspond to the pin numbers on the seed?

    • @SynthuxAcademy
      @SynthuxAcademy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s correct. We have a slightly different pinout because the board is designed to be platform agnostic. You can work with Daisy, Teensy and Arduino as well other boards on this form factor.

You have inspired my curiosity to learn more about how to integrate the user experience into industrial design. Fundamentally the Conductive Lab products fascinate me because they seem to work so intuitively by simply putting the right buttons in the right place. I’m also a fan of Teenage Engineering products, especially the OP-Z. Once a user masters it’s idiosyncrasies, the workflow of the product has allowed me to create and make first recording in as little as five minutes. I’m not a musician or an engineer, but with the right tools, making music can be a lot of fun.

    • @SynthuxAcademy
      @SynthuxAcademy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, sorry to hear that. let’s try to figure it out. First, is the board working? For example, if you only upload the oscillator example, can you hear anything? If so, the board, GND and VCC are connected properly. If you can’t hear something, you need to check pins 20, 29 and 48 - they should all be connected and the little bridges next to them should also be connected. Now to the pots - check pins 30-33. They should all be soldered correctly. Also check the little bridges next to the pins - these must be soldered as well to connect between the Daisy and the pots. If the problem persists, please join our Discord server and ask there. It’s easier to communicate there. Good luck!
