- The third race of the 2023 H1 Unlimited season moves the series west to Tri-Cities, Washington where the world's fastest boats vie for the 57th HAPO Columbia Cup. The weekend finishes with heat racing on the Columbia River.

Been following the sport since the late 60’s but this race w 3 boats early is just pathetic .
It’s still better then most sports. Football ain’t got that much horsepower

I used to live next door to Bill Muncey's parents. Bill was the winningest thunderboat driver of all time. It was magnificent to see how a piston engine unlimited could swamp a turbine engine boat. Now, all boats are turbine powered, making the races quiet and boring.

Racing is not the same without the Miss Budweiser Square Shop the Altus van Line in the piston power
Definitely Budweiser after the bad year they had. This sport needs more promotions than football. These boats are super human compared to regular sports

Missing the races here in Detroit. Why are we not on the schedule?? I would love to watch the full race coverage instead of only the individual races.

I get sponsors. I do. But sponsoring the dang corners is a bit much for the poor announcers to say the mouthful fast enough to do a good job.
With the short season, we need the drivers and people in there ears to pay more attention! That start was just as bad as when they had everyone line up in a good line before the start of the race and if not they tried again. Hopefully this doesn’t happen at the Gold cup this weekend in Seattle. We have lost drivers and big money companies that mad this sport what was.Hate to see this happen to the sport I love! Adrenaline got the best of 3 drivers. Too bad. Could have been a really fun final.
How boring can you make boat racing? Too many rules, does not reinforce great boat handling.
They need more events, 5 is not enough!!

@@StormShadowX37I heard that Seattle was the last race of the year. I was hoping it was a slip of the tongue. How can H1 allow San Diego to skipped?! Mission Bay was built for the purpose of hosting hydroplane races!

The math seems easy. It should take a determined amount of time to turn a lap at a certain speed. I'd assume you just back time that at a predetermined speed and predetermined time you leave the pits, but I guess you need to be on the course to pick your lane. I don't think I've seen so many boats jump, but I'm not a regular viewer.
Bring them back to Miami.
These finals this year have either been cancelled or terrible. smh.

Give jumpers a penalty that's double the length of the jump. Minimum 5 seconds.
J Michael with an 8 second head start and still gets 3rd rules have to change.
Uh, well what place should he have placed in that final heat? It seems you may not be understanding how this all works. If he would have been the only one to jump then he would have been an entire lap down to net himself last

This is according to the clock on the screen that many times is delayed from the actual clock in real time.
no wonder nobody watches this. all these rules have made hydro racing a bad joke.
You guys gotta fix this 5 min prestaging that decides the race. Very Unexciting for boats with turbines.
