I agree with everything you said. I'm still going to support them with their next song/EP. After listening to the song a few more times I still can't get with this song. When I first listened to the song. I was expecting more vocally. I personally am always on the fence about short songs bcuz with them I need more substance, vocals, vocal layering, harmonies a bridge and just everything I look forward to that makes a song that also makes me forget how short it is. Like I stated before. It just wasn't for me and I'll still support them and hopefully the next song and their whole EP is better.
I really need Katseye to be like Boys World. They are probably the best group to draw comparisons with Katseye on, and they are also doing the short songs trend right now too. The difference is, Boys World has everything in a song! Two verses, two-three choruses, and a bridge even with their songs normally clocking in a around 2:30-2:40. Because it sounds full, you don't notice it's short until it ends, and even then you're not really mad cuz they did everything in the song. Katseye can do that too, maybe even better than Boys World, since a lot more money is being put into them by two major companies. I don't even mind the shortness of the songs as long as they give the illusion of being full. Also yeah, put Manon in the front! She's bringing in a LOT of fans! Myself included, because I had no plan to have any interest in them until I saw Manon.

But to me i will go with what they're concept was as this was their introduction to the world. I do understand your opinion. Global groups are different from kpop groups. You can’t fully separate Katseye from kpop though. The group includes kpop elements in their concept and in the dream academy conference, it was stated kpop and Korea will play a role for Katseye.

Now music labels think short songs are more likely to keep a listener’s attention and succeed. On streaming platforms, artists only get paid royalties if a song is played for at least 30 seconds. Because of this, producers and artists are now putting the best parts of a song right at the start to keep you listening. Plus, songs get penalized if listeners don’t listen to the whole thing. This lead artists to end their sounds quickly before you can even think to hit the skip button.

What's unfortunate here is that I know KATSEYE girlies have talent, but HYBE x Geffen are just holding them back with a weak first official song which doesn't highlight any of these girls' vocal strengths at all, it's all just visual talk and talk singing. Let's hope there's a turn around at some point with the creativity and vocal direction.... Another thing about KATSEYE'S music vision that we're getting so far, is that it's getting to somewhat of a type of western appeal, BUT it's lacking in artistry and depth which is a very important detail in order to create music that appeals to the west. (Think, Pink Pantheress, or Sabrina Carpenter, or Ariana Grande. These girlies can sing, BUT they're also putting out an image or conceptual vision of themselves which make them more memorable to the public. All KATSEYE has been given so far is cute y2k outfits, kick ass choreo and basic tiktok-style cookie cutter baddie-type lyrics. They had potential with the branding before which was mystical, enchanting, futuristic and kind of "witch-like" but their song "Debut" doesn't align or melt together with it at all.)

U can tell by the the team relationship....from the accidental early live leak to the mv ..u cns tell yoonchae hasn't evolved their relationship yet that's why I agree with u that vcha is way better than katseye
I think the comparison is a bit unfair. Vcha has been a group for much longer and there’s no language and less culture barrier between the members. This makes it easier for all members to form a bond. Whereas in Katseye, everyone except for Yoonchae is fluent in English and/or from a western country. Have some compassion Yoonchae. She’s still adjusting to the cultural differences and learning more English.
