This car is literally part of the fabric which made the early Australian drift scene. It's a shame you couldn't have interviewed Beau Yates as this car has some epic stories and has managed to live many lives
Cant tell you how happy i am that you featured this car! Would love to hear more about the rear end camber ( In japan they cut and weld them for -1 degree of camber) would love to know if he achieved that some other way, or even a revisit with Beu Yates walking throught his work of art :)
@@shaymusmcdonald3204 dude that is so cool! found it here th-cam.com/video/pcQTXh9j0t0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YmAFoUDrxVLUqmSh&t=142 thanks so much for sharing, now i have to figure out how to do this on my ae86 lol
Yo Mr. Yates ( and mates), you have being the Aussie version of the Drift King from the time I discovered The best motoring Drift Bible. I was at the Perth racetrack when you first started out as drifter in this very car in my teens ( I think I still have those pictures of that day). PLS PLS put this car into a Museum instead of selling it to someone random. You shaped the aussie drift scene and KEPT IT A TOYOTA all these years.
The conversion for 320kw is 429hp. Pretty sick, and right spot on for that weight of time attack car and that size of engine so that the turbo system is responsive.
That's one awesome car. I have to say, it's crazy that in year 2023, it's cheaper for me to own a fully spec'd mint Nissan 370z, than it is to buy a Trueno AE86.
I’m flabbergasted, one of the cleanest engine bays I have ever seen to date and it couldn’t be in a more perfect platform the engine is the K20 of Toyota
After all the work it becomes too nice to beat on. It's a historical motoring legend and belongs in a museum. It would feel so bad being the guy that crashed it. It's so light. I say if the original ae86 is made out of origami this one is rice paper.
There are dudes sipping their morning coffee, then lose their whole minds knowing how cool this car actually is.. and then there are the people watching them lose their minds😂
I would love to see how they managed the subframe for the BEAMS swap. I'm hesitant to 3S swap mine due to how tall the motor is and the necessity to space or modify the subframe. Going dry sump probably frees up some space.. hmm..
Traveling and having time to shoot is incredible but I know you need another team or set of hands and it baffles me that investors aren't going to you.

Oh thats THIS car? I got photos of it going back to oran park then......... wowzers.
That looks as high-end as a factory-run Touring Car. Impressive stuff.
Australian builds are always next level.
Thank you for getting some footage of this car. This is absolutely stunning and very inspirational! I hope my AW11 looks this clean when finished!

Have a look at Perkins engineering page . Jack goes over it on one of there Resto v8 supercar builds

Its a Race Products cambered Hilux rear end. Check out their page. Been used for years in Aussie club motorsport.
Amazing fit and finish. Looks like a ton of thought, blood and sweat went into this build. Fantastic work!!!
Didn't know one of the Hemsworths was into 86s.
💀

The king tsuchiya 👌👌😎
Lets Go Larry! Thank you for bringing this to the light I love Option D Films!
I adore this. I wish I could do an all out build like this.
Same

What a Beautiful and Awesome 86!!!!
"he got rid of the headlights"
*stares at it for quite some time*
...oh!
Been waiting for this larry, thank you.
This 86 is incredible!
Now that's one well tuned car right there🥶
Hachi royalty right there🙌🏻
Solid rear axle, light, reliable 4 banger... Yes. Its perfect.
Another gem Larry, absolutely perfect. Well done 😍
Wow just wow. What an amazing built

Sickest engine bay I've ever seen.
WOW. Is it safe to say that this might be the Nicest, Cleanest, AE86 out there?!
Great car, Aussies do some great work.
one of the best ae86 in the world
You should do a deep dive on this one.
Sweet ae86 . Larry can you do a top 10 cars you have filmed over the year 🇦🇺👍
That thing is awesome.
There are dudes sipping their morning coffee, then lose their whole minds knowing how cool this car actually is.. and then there are the people watching them lose their minds😂
Similar to the CBY demo car carbon tuns and ducting. Very cool.
86 ❤
320kw = ~430hp
Pls do make a vid of this car driving Larry this is really Beautiful would love to hear how it sounds driving🙏
The only Downside is the sharp leading edge to the splitter. Rest of this thing is mad ❤
The sharp leading edge of the splitter is the only downside, but everything else about this thing is amazing! ❤
Been waiting for the WTAC content! 🤙🤙🤙 🇦🇺🇦🇺
i guess that ball joint rear end setup is similar to a 4wd farm tractor
Looks like some nice Workshop Takumi carbon bits on this car.
Love this car definitely one of my favorite. The only better one i can think of imo is the carbon junkie AE86.
That carbon hood Screams UnderSuzuki
Very good spot. It’s the same carbon manufacturer for Under Suzuki’s S15.
@@matthewpham Thanks for confirming it. Love both this 86, and Under's S15
Carbon Junkie is the brand
I was going to say im a siliva guy and even i know the hoods the prepreg carbon junkie brand! lol@@mcbedeakin
No head lights….
Lightning McQueen: I’m a race car, I don’t need race lights because the track is already lit!
Beautiful car!
Cool guy.
JDM Supreme must buy this car, it would be in good hands with him, he will use it as it should.
Larry may be adding to his stable soon🤔
Oh a Revin prease! Prease be Revin me drive that, prease!
Beautiful, video could only be better if the DK himself was here.

the hood highly possible is from takkumi carbon from Japan. The style looks like it.
Can you do a LC print of this car “collage” maybe 😊❤
Did Beau end up selling the 86? I’m sure I saw it listed for sale last year.
Whats that tube shaped into a coil?
Its a similar quality to an Irish tarmac rally car mark 2 escort 👌100k raly cars 💯
Kieran is a monster fab
Next video: “I sold all my cars and bought?………”
It'll go into some private museum never to be seen again 😅
OMG
The hood is ReadyGoNext hood
Isn’t that a Carbon Junkie hood? (Out of Japan)
True racecar is mostly custom....
Gotta be the cleanest ae86...
Can you still call it an 86 with most of the original components replaced ?
Why do I feel this guy looks like Rob Dahm
The hood is by Carbon Junkie, so are the wheel tubs.
I thought the Dahm fella gave up on rotory engines...
👀
Toyota Genuine Parts. I don't think there is a single Toyota part in that which hasn't been swapped out or modified 🤣🤣
430 horsepower in a stripped out ae86 😭😭😭
Anyone can drive this car if they want...
in Juiced 2.
Traveling and having time to shoot is incredible but I know you need another team or set of hands and it baffles me that investors aren't going to you.
The bonnet, grill and bumper are all carbon Junkie items
The hood is from carbon junkie.
Brooks 34 is cooler .
Holy Grail of project cars...
