@@carbonfiber8071 I'm still using the stock C6Z suspension (my DD) but have thought about switching over to coil overs. Does it drop much weight in the process? Worth it for spirited street driving? Who makes the go-to setup?
@@ssoffshore5111 There are many to choose from. I'd stick with a good brand name if you can afford it. KW or something that has two-way adjustability and geared towards performance. The real benefit is better suspension action. It's way more compliant and less harsh on ripples and road irregularities. The composite springs are a terrible design in the first place.
The radiator duct is actually really good. The duct acts like a diffuser, slows down the airspeed and increases the pressure. This can reduce drag produced by the radiator and also increase the flow rate through the radiator. The exit position is also pretty good, right inside the low-pressure zone of the rear bumper.
Not quite. Less frontal area is good, less drag, but flow rate stays the same, at whatever you need it to be. You diffuse the air at the heat exchanger in order to slow velocity and maximize heat exchange time.

11:00 - yes, the exit for rear mounted rads (by default) are always in a zone of low pressure, which the drop assists in generating flow across the rad.
It's entirely possible the drifters aren't going fast enough to generate the extra pull from the low pressure zone. Plus with the fact they're at right angles, the negative pressure behind the car won't really exist while they're on a run. Probably why it works so well for him compared to the drift Corvettes
@@ferasqartoumy I found you and sub'd on here after I posted that. Looking forward to watching your future adventures! Question, is the new build also a C6Z (hopefully!)?
love the custom engraved Finspeeds (hopefully I'll see them at PRI later this week) shod with Michelins and touches of yellow the whole look reminds me of the Corvette Racing Lemans C6R, which is a classic look that still holds its own against the "edgey" C7 and C8 racers.
The radiator positioning and the whole system itself seems like an inadvertent stroke of genius. Not only is it scooping HP airflow straight to the giant rad, it's then exiting perfectly on the diffuser. Probably creating a minor suction effect as well? Also more weight at the back surely helps with the overall balance. This car is so sick.
It was nearly 10 seconds off the pace of the lead Porsche 968, which is still rocking an inline 4. It was a cool car to see, but it was definitely not in the same league as the competition.

So he could change the tire and change the gear, to have the same effective total gearing, and get less weight. So why not just do that? Am I misunderstanding something?
My gearbox is 1:1 6th and doesn't have a drop gear. The final drive is the tallest anyone makes for a corvette so I would either have to get a completely new sequential gearset $$$$$ or go with a taller tire. I run that exact tire for every event in the US but it was just a rule for WTA 🍻 also 1:1 6th is the absolute fastest acceleration rate in gearset options 😁
