Great quality video. Good level for background music, good editing, lighting, and information. And I like your personality. Hope your videos get more views! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these wheels and the board.
I recently upgraded my PU motor sleeves to the 100mm on my V3 and it's a smoother ride, however I still feels bumps quite a bit on sidewalks since I still have the front 90mm wheels. I as well prefer a more comfortable ride than a maximized speed, so I ordered the 100mm front wheels since they finally were back in stock! Super stoked to get them in the mail hopefully they don't take too long, I got my back wheels within a few weeks luckily unlike the board it took 5 weeks when I ordered it back at the end of May and it arrived in early July
ESC went up in smoke after 3 months. They sent a new one under warranty, and also the remote was glitching after 4 months which they replaced. Already went through original wheels. 100mm out of stock as usual. Entered my email to get notified when they were in stock again. Got an alert and within a few hours sold out. Month later got an alert for 100mm wheels . Jumped on it and bought them. Except they are the non motor wheels. Epic Fail! And yes the bottom charger cover fell off too!
Do you have a update on the 100mm chiping because I'm thinking about trying to put some 100mm on my meepo mini 2vj and deck swapping it possibly a 18 mile battery to. so just wondering on the wheels
yup...id like to see that as well..please include the specifics of what you ordered, cost, and time to receive parts if doable? Meepo's site is kinda tricky when it comes to upgrades...the wheels are in separate places...there's motors as an option for rear but i think you just did the outer part....not sure where that stuff is on Meepo site...thanks!!!
@@jopis03 Thanks dude! there's a LOT of Meepo V3 videos but very few about the 100mm wheels....yours would be the first with such details...bound to drive some traffic your way! keep up the great videos.
The magnets in mine is broken too contacted them and they sent me a new one, good things the magnets only on the wheels were broken for me and not the actual motor, I guess being we gotta be a little more careful when dropping them.
Thanks! I appreciate that, it's my favorite part of making videos. I aim to be a high video quality e-skate and travel channel, even if I don't make videos as often as I'd like :P
Great video man! I may do this upgrade but by the time I get it, it's going to close to winter here in the DC area. I don't plan to ride much once it gets cold out.Perhaps I'll order it around Jan/Feb and be here just in time for spring. =)
Thanks for the review. Is that the 360 camera you use in the cruising? I like the perspective and coverage. I first thought it was just a long extension for a regular GoPro. I was interested in comfort in cruising, a softer ride as you mentioned, going from 90mm to 100mm. My concern is less turning control with the larger wheels. I'm just starting on a E-board, so I'll see how I feel with more riding time experience.
Could be the bearings fault after loose starts to wobble and magnet and core starts to contact and destroy the magnet. I had almost same problem but not that bad.
Did you have to upgrade your front truck to the 265mm one? I purchased the 100mm sleeves and the 100mm front wheels, but I didn't pull the trigger on buying the larger truck.... I feel like it's probably not necessary?
Great video bro my orange port cover came off as well 😂 still waiting on my rear sleeves to ship and yes a calibration video would be awesome unless you've made it since recording this ..im new.. lol but i did subscribe!! 👍
Bro, when you're talking about the speeds and weight you should put the metric value of that in the screen, makes a massive difference. That way the rest of the world can understand what you mean and doesn't have to stop the video and go check on Google! Keep me up the great work!!
Stock for stock board for over all value and power and feel what would you pick a backfire g2 black 2020 or a meepo v3 about to purchase my first board! These are the last 2 I’m having a hard time deciding.
That's really tough, the g2 black was released to compete with the v3. The black ships stock with bigger wheels if that's important to you, but there's a daniel kwan video on how to choose your first board based on what's important to you that I'd suggest you watch!
I have a meepo mini 2 with 90mm standard wheels and hubs and hub covers. Can i just buy 100mm sleeves without buying 100mm front wheels or 100 mm hub motors?
I'm not sure about calibrating on the remote but if it's truly accurate then you should definitely get more top speed with the larger wheels. It's not rocket science. You will have more power and take off with the smaller wheels. The only way you would get less speed from the larger wheels is if the board's motors are under powered and don't have the power to pull the larger hubs to maximum rpms. If that's the case it might be why the engineers decided to go with the 90s in the first place. It might be that perfect size to gain maximum power with maximum speed for the specific motor chosen to run that board. I would venture to say however that under moderate non aggressive riding you should gain more distance on a charge, aka better mileage. Just like putting bigger tires on your car. I personally would prefer the larger wheels myself for cruising cause as you said you feel every crack and bump with the stock wheels. Where I ride has a lot of bad pavement. I personally however have only gotten maximum about 24 mph before running out of balls. Not sure if it was the maximum I could get but close. I found an empty Fry's parking lot that was clean and smooth to try it out on. No way to get even close on the street.
Hi I was thinking about picking this board up. I was wondering about how far will this board go before needing to be charged again. Also how low does it get before it starts to slow down or does it just stop when it dies.
it gives warnings through your remote before it dies, when u drop below a certain percentage. The board will accelarate slower, and eventually stop acceleration, and youll just roll out ur last push..
why does your board sound like a belt driven board? When you did the test ride on the 90's i could tell that your board is much louder than what it needed to be...has it always been like that?
Use the same size wheels front and back. Otherwise your handling will be way off. The way the trucks react will be different front to back. I guess you could get used to it but it’s not what is intended.
Tommy Ivy from what I understand a PU sleeve is what he refers to as a “wheel cover” which is the sleeve that goes over the hub motor at the back of the board and a “wheel” refers to the front wheels which are essentially just normal skateboard/longboard wheels.
yeah it will affect your top speed/acceleration, it'll take longer for you to accelerate but you'll max out faster. Battery life in theory will be better if you do more cruising, but if you do a lot of acceleration/deceleration then it'll be worse
I’m about the same and I’ve been riding the Meepo V3 for a year with no problems. I hit 29mph though I normally ride ~15mph. On super steep hills I end up slogging down to 6-8 mph, but it has been perfect. I say go for it!
