- The Corvette has been America's sports car since 1953. This C7 Grand Sport was the final year Chevrolet produced a front engine car. On the outside you will see the wider Z06 bodywork, 19/20in wheels, 2-piece rotors and performance exhaust. On the inside you will be greeted by leather deats, 8in infotainment system, and mode selector knob. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 that is pumping out 460HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport the sports car to buy NOW or WAIT?

Aside from the 63 with the split glass, to me personally the C7 is the best body style to date.

@@RaitisRides The greatest was the 62 convertible, the best version that Buz and Todd drove in Route 66, in Beige color; I guess what they now call "Champagne." But I'm an old timer. I feel in love with Vettes as a teenager watching that show. I admit I two timed that love when the Cobra came around. I would love to get a '62 nostalgia cruiser if I can find one at a non-insane price.

I do too. The Base on the C8 looks so ugly when it’s a solid color. Only the higher trim levels look appealing to me but the C7 still looks better.
Had the pleasure of driving a '19 grand sport....smile on my face the whole time, if the pricing ever goes down again, I'm definitely going to consider it

@@Lutestick i prefer the automatic as i plan on using it as a daily driver in the summer months but thanks though, if i were going to mostly use it as a track car, i would definitely get the manual. What car are you going to replace it with?

@@joeh3803 last year most used were in the 50ies. Some higher mileage ones were in the 40ies. 67k is not horrible but not an amazing deal. Prices were already going up by april

I love my C7, it really does everything so well and is an absolute stunner even though its now 6 years old! Something about the body design, the coke bottle style, it just has it all in the looks department. And the interior was quite an upgrade over all previous generations. The LT1 is more powerful than its predecessor LS3 but somehow the LS3 had a more raw feel to it, like John Wayne, whereas the C7 is like 007.
Anyway Joe and Lori thanks for continuing to bring us great videos like this one. Love the Sebring Orange on this GS. She roars like a caged tiger and looks like one too!
Last model of GRANDSPORT and last front engine. Will be worth alot of money down the road.

I bought a 2016 Z06 3LZ convertible in Daytona Sunrise Orang Metallic. It was higher mileage at 39k but I got it for around $68,000. The car is awesome. I have owned a 1988 Corvette Z51, a 1991 Corvette ZR-1, a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V, and this blows them all away. I love it. I know what the C8s are doing, and I'm impressed, but I still like the looks of the C7 better. Thanks for the video Joe!

The Grand Sport has always been my favorite C7 model. I really wish Chevrolet would have made a GS available on the C8. However, still can't wait for that Z06. One of my most anticipated future reveals.

Enjoyed my 2019 GS for a year. Sold it in the spring when the market went crazy for much, MUCH, more than I purchased it when new. Great car.

This, the z06, and the outgoing M cars are all cars that I need to own ASAP. I’d imagine the c7s holding value and some of the Ms maybe increasing. People haven’t realized yet how much of a beast the c7 was since they’re so excited by the c8.

Same here. Something about the rear end that bothers me on the C8. Still a nice car though but i love my 2019 C7 GS alot!
The grand sport would be perfect with the admiral blue, white center stripe and red fender hash marks, I really wish the corvette was still front engine since the only new FR supercars I can think of is the 812

that would look amazing looks i love the front eng Corvette, but GM did right by going rear eng a true sports car can only perform like the sports cars should by going that way. only wish muscle cars realised that the only way to move forward as true muscle car performance is to go all wheel drive with that big power

There is no Love like that of a "Vette" for those of you who are fans, and that sound! "Unbelievable". Also, every time I see a C7 Vette it straddles me on the fence because I still think that the C7 design is More Sinister than the C8 😎 "Can't wait to see how the new C8 "Z06" looks (Hoping for a meaner presence)

I slept on the GS when the C8 rolled out and GM had thousands of C7’s leftover. They were basically giving Stingrays and GS’s away.. 2 years later I crossed paths with exactly the car I was looking for. I picked up my 19, 7 spd manual GS in Elkhart Lake Blue w/6300 miles on the clock.. Rest assured prices have yet to stabilize and I wanted in before I was priced out..
Just purchased a C7 stingray last month, beast. 🔥🔥 just wish I have the body flares the GS and Z06 have 😭oh well.

As an old Vette lover, I would be proud to own another color of this 2019 GS. I had a 1979 L-82 and the Corvette experience is unique to the Vette. It is a blend of American Muscle, Euro tooth cracking handling and solid reliability (can't say that about the mid-engine).
You don't get it till you hit the road.
Those cameras aren't only for the PDR, they're also so you don't ding the front splitter or scrub the wheels on a curb when turning it shows a split 3 screen view of the left/right side and front on the center dispaly. And in "Valet" mode it'll film to see if the little pencil neck valet hot rods your car. Also that center section of the hood is a decal, not bare carbon fiber. You could also get a "Jake" hood stinger decal too.

Nice review, one thing to remember is the rims on the c7 gs and z06 are prone to cracking and bending. Need to set aside extra cash for aftermarket rims.

I was waiting 2 months for one so bad but with the used car market I did not want to go for it these were priced at 70k and I thought it was crazy when they were selling from 58-63k months before. I went ahead and switched it up I got a BMW M4 and I’m loving it! I’ll be going to back to muscle some day for sure though!

I like the C8 but I really do miss the front end engine design.
I just picked up a 2019 c7 grand sport convertible. It's one of the best looking cars I've ever seen. With the top down, it looks sick. It only had 3k miles on it, too. It wasn't cheap though. It's a much better buy than the z06 while still getting the z06 body style. The extra cash for the extra horsepower in the z06 is pretty much useless. You'd need to drive on a track and be a pro driver to make the extra horsepower worth it.

I thought the front camera on the grill is for parking assist so you don’t smash your front lip if parking forward. The PDR camera is mounted on the rear view mirror I believe

I have this exact car in Torch red. I'm planning on getting a Z06, but I'm not positive I'll like it as much as I do this one. The Stingray still hasn't grown on me. I'm "assuming" the expected wide body on the Z06 will do the trick. I'm open to the E-Ray too.

I purchased a brand new 2019 GS M7 1LT Elkhart Lake Blue two years ago (when I found out you couldn't get a stick in the C8) and can sell it today for close to $10k more than what I paid for it, including Cally sales tax. Depreciation? Nope appreciation!

The C6 and C7 are my favorite body style but my one complaint is that the hood gap lines stand out too much.
