- The C7 Corvette is the final generation of the front engine Corvettes from Chevrolet. On the outside of the Grand Sport you will find the Z06's wider body work, 6-piston Brembo brakes and GM Performance exhaust. On the inside you will find the classic red interior, digital gauge display and 8in infotainment screen. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 pumping out 460HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. For me, The C7 looks better than the C8, it's just my opinion though.

What I love about the C7 is that even though the C8 has been out for 3 years now, the C7 still doesn’t look old. I love the C7, especially with the manual option.

I have a 19 GS 2lt. Car is a BLAST to drive. Perfect for a cars and coffee that morning, the track that day then dressing up and taking your lady out to dinner that night. It turns heads all day. All around great car. If you're thinking of getting one, do it especially during the colder months when prices drop a little!

Just purchased a C7 GS w/ Z07 package. I’ll pick up a C8 when the C9 gets announced. The C7 body style is imo timeless, it’ll always turn heads.
I bought a C7 z51 loaded with carbon fibre and I agree I feel like I am in a race car from the raised hood lines you see from the dash. It's not as quick as my F-Type however the feel is more race car like

Just bought a sweet 2017 C7 Grand Sport in Watkins Glen Gray Metallic!
I sold my 1990 Corvette after seeing what what left of another Corvette that was literally run over by a truck and flattened like a pancake. Most people drive SUVs today because you at least have a fighting chance of survival in a serious crash.
That is terrible to hear.
These are absolutely fantastic sport’s cars. Chevy really upped their technology and engineering game with the C7 and especially the C8. Also these Grand Sport’s keep really really good resale value.
If only it had a manual gearbox!
@@RaitisRides I know exactly what you mean. I actually last year bought a 2015 C7 Convertible Corvette all white with all red interior and it was a 7 speed manual. Clean title and it had only 21,000 original miles. Very beautiful and well kept car however my buddy who’s an auto broker in Los Angeles told me a deal on a brand new 2022 BMW Z4 M40i in Misano Blue and when I test drove the car it was a no brainer I immediately bought the BMW and sold the Corvette.😃

Just to note
You could get a C7 GS with carbon flash rear top intake vents over the left and right sides if you purchased either a 2LT or 3LT package. Only on the 1LT was it the color of the body paint.

I took my GS to just under 192MPH.
Stock aside from my AFE intake and a throttle booster.

As much as I like new c8 z06, I would buy c7 GS manual, for all the reason you mentioned, and then some. Plus, it's probably most reliable vette. Thanks Joe.

I drove one of these for a whole year, really fun car, but the interior is really showing it’s age by now. It doesn’t help that they are so overpriced still.. $60k for a base stingray plus wider fenders should be closer to 40s now.

Its still hell of a car for 60k.Nothing comes close to this dollar for dollar.
I would go for one in the high 40s… used car prices are dropping everywhere and more c8 s are available now. hopefully within a couple years they won’t be so expensive 🤞

I now have 21k miles on my 2017 2LT C7 Grand Sport and it has been a great car so far! My car is also white but with chrome wheels, black interior, and no hash marks(I don’t personally like black rims or hash marks). The car has more than enough power and is very solid. It drives like it’s on rails. For me, if I’m looking at later generation Corvettes, I’ll take the C7 over the C8 any day because it still looks like the classic corvette proportionally. IMHO the C8 looks like a toy European Hot Wheels Car with a Corvette badge stuck on it. Way too busy for my taste but to each his own. If I buy another vette, it will be a C2. For me, they are the most beautiful Corvettes ever made.

I never cared much for corvettes until I saw the C7. It’s just such a badass sportscar. I just got my 2023 C8 Stingray convertible a few weeks ago and it feels like a supercar. The performance, tech and interior are off the charts!

I love how GM shoots out two back to back champion C7 and C8 series Corvette super cars! The C7 was a tremendous leap forward, it looked awesome, was well built, had great overall speed and handling performance. I still highly rate the C7 series Corvettes, wouldn't mind owning a later model.

I have a 2017 GS Blackrose manual convertible. I have driven many a C8 which is an awsome car. But when I get in my C7 I just feel right at home. Smiles per mile baby!👊🏻👍🏻🇺🇲😜

At the track the C7 GS laps faster than the C8 Z51 and the Shelby GT350R even it might beat the Porsche 991 Carrera S.

I'd say yes, I have a 2017 GS in White with Kalahari interior though (7sp manual). I've had a C3, C5Z and C6 and it took me a while to appreciate the C7. I love the rear of the C5 the most, but love the side view of the C7.

I bought a 2019 GS a year ago and love it. My only regret is that it's a 1LT (should've gotten a 2LT, poor research on my part).
USA.....C7 and C8 are both terrific BUT very different.

I was all but locked in on a C8 & that changed when I test drove a GS C7. For the money, I couldn’t justify paying $40k more. Now I have a gorgeous C7 GS in the garage, no regrets at all.
If the manuals were so damn great & the subs switched from their Kias, they’d still be making em.
Immediate thumbs up! C7 will be the collector Vette. 2LT is the highest to go. LT3 gets leather on dash, that bubbles. Oh no! The problematic 8 speed, 35K on odo, shudders on hwy speed. Chevy has a band aid fix for another 30K.

That or the C6 version because the C8 is the ugliest Corvette yet and who needs lots of horsepower when the speed limit is 65?
Actually speed limit changes depending where you are.
I personally think the Z06 just has too much power for the chassis, and it ends up hurting the car on the track.
This thing is perfectly balanced on the track with just the right amount of power.

I have a regular 98 C5 Corvette and the only time I was ever excited for another Corvette was the C7 Grand Sport Collector Edition. Sadly I missed out. If they ever do the same color theme on the newer models I'll be the first in line!

I love mine. 2017 GS 3LT. Bought it with 3k miles three years ago and been daily driving it since, up to 35k now. Put one set of tires on it, and have had to replace 3 of my rear rims due to cracking (buyer beware). But that’s it. 19 mpg avg since I’ve had it. I pulled the NPP fuse for meaner exhaust sound all the time, not just higher RPMs. Competition seats are surprisingly comfortable, plenty of cargo space, versatile magnetic suspension, easy to take the targa off frequently, no rattles, etc. Buy one. I’ll miss mine when I have to give it up to collect my C8 Z06 allocation.

Awesome model Corvette...best yet and that includes the C8. Agree that a 7-speed would make it the PERFECT sports car. GS models will be a highly sought after car.

Bought a 2LT GS back in 2017. Had to order it since I wanted a manual and the competition seats. Been a great car, 51k miles so far. On road trips this thing gets 26-27 mpg and the only negative is the road noise from those big run flats. On the track this thing is super predictable, a bit of understeer unless you trial brake excessively, and no temperature issues.
The only thing I think is a little meh is the push rod sound. At full throttle it sounds great, but everywhere else it's just kind of meh. Would love to get a new Z06 just for the sound but those markups are ridiculous. No issues continuing to drive this old GS, super fun.

@Bill Fleming I'm tempted but the run flats were useful once. Did a pull on the first big straight in death valley. Guess I had a nail or something and it got flung out. So there I am sitting in Death Valley with no cell phone or internet and a flat rear tire. Limped it 90 miles with 0psi to a tire shop.

I love me new C8 convertible. It is beyond amazing. How ever I miss my C7 I traded in on new car. I just couldn’t afford them both.
Congratulations on your c8. I just got one too. At first I was going to buy a c7 grand sport until I seen the c8 htc in person. It's one of the most beautiful cars on the road and the attention it gets is insane.

I loved my Corvette but the payments were killing me it was fun to drive but I was a little bit nervous here in New Jersey with all the traffic afraid somebody was gonna run into me and destroy that beautiful car.🎉

Excellent transmission the lag is just the waty it is until the transmission finds the right shift vurve dynakic transmission and to say its slow or weak is absolutely foolish
Drive it against the Tremec DCT in the C8 and get back to me on that one.
It's slow, especially compared to my zf8 in my bmw m240i.
I always preferred the look of the C6s, they are the best looking Vettes IMO, but these C7s have really nice interiors.
They feel so much more solid. C7s build quality was leaps and bounds ahead of anything up until the C8.
The C6 generation is one of my favorite!
PShh for 50-60k people don’t realize how much car you’re getting in a c7. I think it’s funny when people go buy challengers or mustangs and spend over 50k when cars like this are still out there. I’ve driven a 12 Ferrari 458 and the c7 is pretty close in handling and performance. The whole car is carbon fiber and fiber glass hydrogel composite. No door dings or hail damage. The alarms, stereos, electronics all user friendly and well thought out. And yes the c8 is a better car but you’re also spending 30-40k more. This car is hands down the best car for that price. You’re essentially getting a taste of a supercar
$58k w/16k miles..good price. my c7 gs has the z07 brake package...and i track it a couple times a year...worth the $$$...pads are $900 for the front..

I am looking to buy a v8, buy hard choice between the f-type R and the grand sport c7 with zr1 kit. I think the jag R has a much better exhaust, you really need a tune on the corvette
