Could you do me a favour and get your boy to the laces of his hoodie if he is going to lean over an engine with a fan belt centimetres from them.
    Still a great episode

I have to admit, Tucker leaning into the engine compartment with his hoodie strings dangling near the engine pully and fan blade had me a bit freaked out. 29:52

Just an FYI to teach your boys. I noticed him wearing a sweatshirt with the hood strings hanging down while the engine was running and leaning over the belts and pulleys. I had a friend who was working on his truck alone and did that and yeah his got caught and literally was in a bad situation with no help to shut it off. He almost died..just remind them to not have the strings hanging out while doing that..

Thanks for the video Clinton, I was worried that Tucker's hoodie strings would pull his head into the engine at timestamp 30:08. That happened to me while working around the alternator of a running 671 Detroit. The screen I watched this on was too small for me to be certain, but as Tucker was leaning in to check for leaks, it appeared to me that the strings on his hoodie were starting to get near danger close to the fan and belts several times.
Apologies if I am wrong, but we are absolute death on dangling drawstrings after a farm boy was killed by a shaft driven post hole digger in our county. Years later an elderly neighbor was grabbed by his ragged coverall leg, made 2 revolutions around a live PTO (by his count) before getting thrown clear when those ancient coveralls were finally torn off his body. I found him standing with one coverall sleeve, his Jockey shorts and a sock; black and blue and skun up like crazy but with no broken bones or internal injuries but worried that the PTO shaft might have been damaged.
The pictures I took for my police report at one time were shown to FFA and farm safety groups around the state.
Please ask the boys to either trim up their hoodie strings or remove them on work duds as a favor to some o😊ld buzzard up north with a touch of PTSD.

I had an ‘86 F350 with the 6.9 IDI. Loved it. Look and see if Tucker’s truck has the Stanadyne water separator on the firewall. Looks like a steel can with a spring-loaded plunger on top and a wire going to it for the “Drain Water” warning light. I would recommend removal and replacement. Here’s why. The plunger that seals the bottom of the reservoir where water collects is made of regular old steel. So it rusts. And quits sealing. Which allows air to seep into the fuel system. So you’ll experience long cranking times and hard starting. I chased this problem on my truck for weeks until I finally figured it out. I never could wrap my mind around such an obvious design flaw. I’m guessing that a roomful of engineers somewhere were saying “Hey, you know this thing is gonna rust - right?” And the bean counters said “Stainless steel will cost another $1.20 per unit. Ship it!” So yeah - yank it off of the firewall like you’re starting a lawnmower. That’s my advice to you.

My other favorite YT offering is The Minnesota Millenial Farmer. With a million subscribers, I can count perhaps a half dozen or more times when Zack has stopped to cut & shorten the drawstrings on a new hoodie before he starts working on machinery. As Zack is a leader and large contributor in both preventing grain bin accidental suffocation and furnishing rescue gear to FDs, I don't believe demonstrating his drawstring habit repeatedly as he does is anything less than a repeated teachable moment on Safety.
I firmly believe, as does Zack Johnson apparently, that merely tucking or even tying up long, dangling drawstrings merely postpones the inevitable tragedy or close call, not prevent it.

Something that Tucker should watch is his hoodie tie strap is to tie them up so when he was laying on top of his truck running they could get caught in the belt and pull him in. I pull mine out thanks
