I was on the 7 train today and I heard Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling and I was like “oh OK they got new announcements here”. It’s cool to hear all of the announcements that they got on the 7. I wonder if they’ll ever spread it to other lines with the trains in the future. I hope so.

The dwell announcement for the Queens-bound local at 5th Avenue is quite long. So long in fact that conductors frequently make manual announcements to bypass it. "This is SNY's Ron Darling and this is a Queens-bound 7 local train. Do you know how many New York Mets have worn the number 7? Ed Kranepool, Kevin Mitchell, Jose Reyes… Since this is a local train, you have some time to figure it out. Let’s go Mets." That takes about 15 seconds, and _then_ comes "The next stop is…"
I wish those guys are such a treat to hear they broadcast Mets games every night they are the best announcers in baseball history glad they are getting the exposure they deserve these guys are legends
they should do the same for Boston MBTA, having the NESN broadcaster announce the green line about the red sox EX: Entering Kenmore Doors will open on the right, LETS GO RED SOX! fans, get off here to see your Boston red sox. Entering Haymarket doors will open on the right, hey, you Yankees fan, are you sure you are in the right city, because this is Boston, not New York, go back to your own city, and let's go red sox.
@Mr. Foamer do you have any idea who those guys are they are the best baseball announcer trio Major League Baseball has ever seen plus to get to the citi field it goes thru the 7 so it’s only appropriate you have the teams announcers calling the stops love it MTA out did themselves with these legends. If you want to learn about these guys turn a Mets game and just listen to them it’s a absolute treat

Why is it always the 7, why can’t they do it on the 4 line with Yankees advertisement, nobody on the 7 line is gonna hear them anyway, what a waste of money

@@nyctransitrailfan Because the 7 train is full of Mets fans. That's why. Yankee fans don't always take the train because most live in the Bronx and many can walk. A large percentage of Mets fans ride the 7 line between home and game as a mean of transport. That's why.

Didn’t they change the 4,5,6 train announcements to reduce the duration of time a train spends stooped at a platform? Then they do this…. It’s a no.

It honestly sucks, I don’t like it, it disrupts important announcements and delays the train because of how long they talk
