Picard sitting there on the console is literally what almost everyone at one point or another has done today. Hell we use Tablets and smaller tri-corder like devices all the time now too.

Same with 7:57. 4:55 is Ardra's doing. 6:12 Picard is under an alien influence so you could make the argument that it's not "Picard" going crazy but that's up for debate.
