Never is the line said “Luke, I am your father” the most famous line in movie's on the internet that’s wrong .
Some trivia -- Denis Lawson, the actor who played Wedge (he's the pilot for the snowspeeder that tangles up the first AT-AT and the pilot who had to bail during Luke's Death Star trench run) is the uncle of Ewan MacGregor, who plays young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy.

The tall 4-legged walkers are AT-ATs (All Terrain Armored Transport) while the smaller two legged walkers are AT-STs (All Terrain Scout Transport)
During the battle of Hoth more scout walkers were going to be in the fight but many shots couldn’t be used. There were issues with lighting and animation so only two AT-STs appear during Hoth.
My headcannon is the empire brought in the scout walkers to help against the snow speeders after one of their AT-ATs were taken down by a speeder. Scout walkers are more efficient against aircraft than the Armored Walkers.

Luke's failure in the cave is a warning that if he goes to the dark side he will become his father.

Needa was just a captain.
Admiral Piett did actually make an excellent job as admiral and earned Vader's respect, because when he made a mistake he owned it and learned from it instead of coming with excuses as admiral Ozzel and captain Needa.
I'm not sure Needa actually made a mistake. It wasn't his fault his ship had a blind spot. Did he make excuses in the novel or something?

"That Ship" is The Executor, Vader's personal battleship. It's around the size of Manhattan.

@@EthanDen Insane AF, it's a great looking ship though. Probably my favorite spaceship design in a movie. And it's from the days before CGI, some guy(s) actually had to scratch-build physical models for it, and others had to figure out a way to film it somehow where it'd look believable. The behind-the-scenes stuff about the making of these movies is amazing (if you're into that sort of thing). The shit they was doing is almost a lost art these days.

I was 13 Years old in 1977 when I saw Star Wars in the Movie Theatre and I was 16 Years old in 1980 when I saw Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. The Special Effects were incredible. Everyone was shocked and Gasped when Darth Vader told Luke who he was.

Instead he stayed 3 years with the alliance and advanced to captain while Luke became a commander and Wedge a group leader.
48:54 it’s based on an outboard boat motor. They were designing ships and decided to take a break and go fishing. There are lots of things like that.
I just realized that Mark Hamill’s face is definitely different, after he had a car accident and his face fixed from plastic surgery before adding the wampa swiped out Luke’s face in the beginning of the empire strikes back.
This one has had the fewest changes made to it, and most of the changes actually help the movie.
I don't know - I think the Cloud City had a claustrophobic oppressiveness that worked better in the original. And that ridiculous sequence of Darth Vader getting into his shuttle flying back the ship, and disembarking cut up the final action scene. But you're right, this was by far the least mutilated of the 3. At least Vader doesn't scream NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! in this one.
@@jpiccone1 yeah the original shuttle scene was better but I prefer the new Cloud City. Looks more like the original Ralph McQuarrie paintings.
the big superstardestroyer that was in the fleet that attacked the rebels at hoth was the "Executor". It has a length of roughly 38 kilometers and dwarfs the regular star destroyers of the empire.

So he’s Cool Hand Luke.
In the original, Luke says "it's a good think you don't taste very good" instead of "you were lucky to get out of there" to R2D2 - another pointless change. The Cloud City didn't have all those windows - a lot of people like that change, but the original had a claustrophic atmosphere that fed into the hopelessness of their situation - until the turning point of the trilogy when Leia uses the force to hear Luke - from that point things start to go right.
"This love triangle is a little weird here." - Oh, boy, it's gonna get weirder.
But one thing I've noticed is that reactors misinterpret Leia kissing Luke here. She's not doing it because she has feelings for Luke, she's just trying to antagonize Han because there's definitely some feelings and tension between the two of them.

The 'text crawl' at the beginning is a little misleading, Luke is not the leader. He is a hero of the alliance, but he is not the leader, Leia and many others actually outrank him.
The Standard 'Star Destroyers' are a mile long, Vader's command ship is much larger 'Super Star Destroyer'. Sources vary about its size, some say 5 miles some say 12 miles long.

Trivia: The whole "Luke being attacked by a Wompa" scene at the beginning was added to explain the facial scars that Mark Hammil received during a car accident.
