      @@lost4468yt Well, I do try to watch better quality stuff.
      But nobody/nothing is perfect.
      Even today, I still maintain Star Wars (AKA Ep IV) only rates a six or seven out of ten.
      You found the character of "Luke Skywalker" to be on the whole goofy?
      I think there were times when he was, but there were lots of times when he was a dramatic (serious) character.
      Compare the end of "Empire" to the scene in the Ewok village at the end of "Return of the Jedi".
      In that time, Luke went from looking up to his father as an idolized hero to a flawed, fallen human being in need of his help and emotional support.
      That's not the way someone like Buggs Bunny or Alan Harper would deal with him. 🎭

      @@TheNoiseySpectator When you think back at the end of Episode 3, he has been silently crying for help ever since he found out he killed Luke and Leia's mother. He doesn't like to think of himself as Anakin Skywalker anymore because of that, which explains his devotion to the dark side, and Darth Bane's Rule of Two doctrine basically keeps him prisoner under the Emperor until he gains the power to kill him, and he knows that because he has become a cyborg, that will never happen because he must be fully organic to reach his prime as a Force wielder.

      @@TheNoiseySpectator Hey, don't shoot the messenger, I'm just saying what's confirmed in Star Wars lore. Darth Vader would have been much more powerful if he hadn't lost his arm and legs. It's all about the midichlorian count.

    • @TheNoiseySpectator
      @TheNoiseySpectator 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry, guys. I just don't see that anything Vader ever said or did could be interpreted as a cry for help. At least not in the movies.
      You two seem to be following an extended canon ("cannon"?) of the graphic novels or comic books, or something similar.
      Either way, I think we can all agree that Vader wanted to recruit Luke as his own sith apprentice in hopes of overthrowing the Emperor and becoming the Master Sith Lord, himself.
      But let me ask you this.
      I read a draft for a Star Trek/ Star Wars crossover once. It wasn't very good, but the Enterprise crew did find a way to temporarily stop Darth Vader.
      As you may know, in Star Trek they have "radiological sterilization and disinfecting" technology.
      They use different wavelengths of ultraviolet or infrared light to kill microorganisms.
      They found an ultraviolet spectrum range that would kill Migty Cloreans.
      Long story short, they turned it on Vader.
      With his connection to the Force broken, he could not even be sustained by his life support suit, he collapsed and they took him to sick bay as a prisoner.
      The Migty Cloreans were slowly growing back, but his connection to the Force was temporarily _gone._
      If that were to happen to Vader, and his mind and soul became clear of the influence of The Dark Side,
      do you think he would have wanted to stay that way instead of going back to being a Sith Lord?
      And, if other people want to answer too, then they are also welcome. 😁

    This scene shows that Vader was the only one around Luke, that told him the truth about this one fact. Obi Wan danced around it, Yoda didn't confirm it until pressed by Luke. And of course there were reasons why he wasn't told. So it also shows that things in life aren't always cut and dried.

    You can research this yourself, in the original script for Empire Strikes Back, Anakin and Darth Vader are two completely different people and Obi-Wan was telling Luke the truth in A New Hope. Luke's sister was also NOT Leia, but instead, a completely new character that I think was to be revealed in Return Of The Jedi. I believe Vader vs. Anakin & Obi-Wan on the top of a Volcano was what led to Anakin's death. There also may have been flashback scenes for this planned, not 100% on that.

    Funny thing about this is when they originally filmed the scene, they had James Earl Jones say a *different* line, and then have him record the ACTUAL line in post to keep the secret safe from EVERYONE until the film actually premiered.
    I believe the original, fake line they had James say was something along the lines of "Obi-Wan killed your father."

    • @joshuawiedenbeck6944
      @joshuawiedenbeck6944 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I remember correctly, having Obi-Wan kill his father was the original plan before Lucas decided to change it. So it worked to have it as a placeholder during filming.
