Going through a very rough period of his life, Donnie met his current wife Shawn in 2009 and few years later he purchased this Big Block powered 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS. The muscle car was in terrible shape, but all he cared about was the body and slowly build it to get into NMCA Racing in 2016.
After numerous issues with the powertrain Donnie was looking for a new engine builder, got in touch with Scott Foxwell of Foxwell Motorsports and 6 months later he received a brand new 565 cubic inch Big Block Chevy motor capable of 1035 HP @ 7300 RPMs and 804 FPT @ 5600 RPMs without any power adder.
He installed the new 565 Big Block Chevy motor in his 1969 Chevelle SS a.k.a Bertha, did some additional upgrades to the suspension and the muscle car became faster than ever. Its current best ET's are 9.162 @ 146.77 MPH in the 1320 and 5.80 @ 118 MPH in the 1/8, which is pretty satisfying for a 3,700 LBS steel car.
