The only battery that comes with the kit is for the beam saber. You have to supply the other button batteries for the main LED unit yourself from the start, so sadly they aren't that bright. That being said, in my apartment the main LED unit is bright enough. I haven't gotten around to trying out the beam saber yet as I'm still assembling the armor.

Man, I do love the proportions. Changes are especially noticable in the upper region with the smaller shoulders and larger head, it really breaks the status quo for modern gundam designs, almost being the complete opposite of it. Bulkier forelegs too
Maybe this isn't relevant, but in standard master grades they usually include two options (dry transfer and sticker decals). So why do you have two in mg and not in a premium and VERY expensive kit like this?
Yeah I don’t think a lot of people were really asking for it. If you took a poll ahead of this announcement for “what do you want the next PG to be?” I doubt this would have been in the top ten. That said, that doesn’t mean it can’t be a great and exciting kit to build. So what’s yur point?
Such a gorgeous kit! A shame the LEDs are a little dim in the chest/head, but the beam saber light honestly turned out easy better than I expected it to! Such an interesting idea that you couldn't pull off on a smaller scale.
Within the canon, sliding armor like you were expecting on the thighs wasn't developed until the Gundam Mk II, that's what made the Mk.II faster and more agile.
For older kits, I found coloring the sole protrusions with a metal bronze sharpie makes them look more epic. I also learned that you can tighten joints using superglue; you can always make adjustments by sanding down the glue after it dries.
@@specialorder9379 5 months late so you probably figured this out already, but you apply thin layers to the joint and let it dry *before* inserting it again. Also make sure you glue the bit you insert because it's easier to sand down than a hole. The dried glue increases the dimensions of the joint resulting in a tighter fit. You can also use paint, clear coat, etc or less permanent methods like placing a tissue over the joint, connecting the two, then cleaning it up with some tweezers.
Wow, this looks amazing. This is way better than the original perfect grade. I know the original perfect grade was the first Gunpla, but I am glad they put the yellow LED lights instead of green.
I wonder if for the backpack light; chrome plating the guiding clear parts would make a significant difference. Of course masking where the light enters and exits. Would be great to hear if anyone has tried this!
Personally I never liked the hammer or javelin, never made much sense to me. The bazooka though I fully agree should've been included, could've been a great set piece with it.
I feel like Bandai's led units have terrible qc, I have two yellow led, both official bandai products, and they are identical models, but have different shades and brightness levels ....
Can the backpack be lit up from the other beam saber as well? If so, it's rather disappointing that they only give you the one. If they're charging this much for it, you'd think they could afford to throw in an extra LED beam saber... and waterslides. (And yeah I know that's a simplified take on the economics of it and all that, but whatever, I don't care, they should include two LED beam sabers and waterslides.)
I'll wait on a later release of PG Unleashed to grab one. This seems to parallel early RG, where Bandai is flexing a bunch of new tech and seeing what sticks. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great kit but I'm sure Bandai will improve upon it.
I might wait to see how the missing parts situation plays out. I though the beam rifle has too much "bling" in the wrong places. I generally like to paint the upper receiver white to match the armor color on the mobile suit itself. I wish they included articulated hands, if it comes out as optional part might buy it too. I wonder if they will make a MGEX RX72 based on this.
I built the original PG in 2006 with only having 4 nogrades and 4 HGs under my belt. I took it outside of storage recently (in its box only inside a closet) and it was loose everywhere. It still looks great though and its for sure a big project.
If Bandai makes a custom set for the kit, I would hope for it to have two bazookas, Gundam hammer, the spear thing, (I don’t even know if that weapon has a name) action base, and fully articulated fingers oh and some water slide details. Now if all that was in one box I think it might be for like around 100 bucks but I think it would be worth it.
Happy New Year! I was just at my local Hobbytown USA and they have two in stock for $295. I was sooo tempted but passed. I might go back for it this weekend. Hopefully they still have it. Be safe and keep doing more awesome videos!
The RG-style premolded joints always came out feeling tight upon initial assembly, they just loosened up very quickly afterwards. I'm less worried how stable it is now and more worried how stable it'll be in, say, a month or two.

Excellent, clear, complete and honest review, thank you. Did you eventually went on painting it completely or not? I'm on my way to do it, already primed much of the 2d layer of the inner frame. I don't like the original red used on it, and really dislike the blue, too toyish to me. I will try to paint it with the colors it wears in Cucuruz Doan's island OVA, with a lighter blue, a deeper wine red, and give whites and greys a good, deep preshading. Already acquired 3rd party good quality true water decals too, to replace the eyesoring stickers that come with the kit, which are a shame IMO for such a beautiful model.
Some of the metallic decals as per the instructions to be used in mid build just to find out that you actually need them out on the armor pieces. Specifically #5 (little red circle decal) and the #17 (red triangular decal which I can no longer remember where i stick it to, that’s why I just need to improvise). Nevertheless, pretty solid kit. It’s like a 1/60 RG kit 😊
100% i bet you there will be a gundam wing zero, unicorn, banshee, unicorn, and red comet zaku 2 designed like this in the future, o and probably a tallgeese as well
I have a tip for you on how you can improve the LEDs in this kit. the light from the LEDs are channeled through a clear part, this is called light piping. light piping basically works the same way as fiber optic cables. you have a light on one end and it goes through the clear part and the light comes out the other end. the problem with the clear parts on this kit is they aren't covered by anything to prevent the light from bleeding through the sides, as a result not much light actually reaches the end. easy way to fix this is to cover the clear parts in black tape like electrical tape or to paint the clear parts with the blackest black paint you have and leave only the spots where the light enters and exits the clear part exposed.
Is it common to get missing parts on PGs? I've had a Unicorn miss a part, I had to get a spare one from my Banshee's excess part. Then I've had a 00 missing a full runner out of box.
I got the my barbatos for Xmas and I'm not gonna lie it wasn't one of my most favorite builds, in a few parts it felt like some parts never fit correctly, like the backpack never closes flushly
