    Thank you for the video. I'm starting a new job working with one of those. I've been working with Mazak for over 20 years. This calmed my nerves.

      I understand nervousness when doing a switch. I had ran only Mills for 10 years and then went to a company that needed me to hand program old lathes and I had to go back to my notes from 10 year before. Wish I had my videos back then and it would have been easier. I'm glad it helped. Good Luck and thanks for watching.

    Great video! Just ordered a new ST-35. We have experience with a TL-2 which should help a little. Having g the tool setting probe will be a game changer. We need the new machine to make pump shafts of varying sizes in small batches. Currently doing them on a manual lathe which is a slower and less forgiving process. 1 mistake and you scrap the part. The new machine will improve our production time and free up time to do other parts while the new machine is running virtually unattended. Thanks!

    Great detailed explanation. I'm curious why you keep homing the machine with Power Up ALL instead of touching the G28 button?

    Great video.
    On the bmt 65 turret, is that tool centreline button on the control? What happens if you have different centre line holders?

    • @aaronrunk4209
      @aaronrunk4209  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the BOT button is on the controller. This is a parameter set distance from home to center line. This parameter is set by the manufacturer. However, if you know the difference between it and your Bolt on Holder, you need only shift that amount. I have a video for indicating a holder to set a new center line. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

    Awesome video! I just wanted to ask if you can center a turning tool in the y geometry or offset page? For example.. if I faced off material and it left a .008 tit on center of material. Could I adjust the Y offset to correct off center cutting. I do realize you can use .004 shim to correct stick tooling to put on center as well but wanted to get your insight and expertise on this topic. Thank you

      @ryanslevenski4825 Thanks for watching, and although I have not run into this issue before, I would bet my paycheck on the fact that you could offset your y-axis to compensate for the machine being off center.

    I’m using the probe on the lathe and my x axis offset is still off by .003. Is this normal?

    • @aaronrunk4209
      @aaronrunk4209  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @gsaldana897 when touching off the tool eye, it should get you very close, but it's not unusual for it to be off just a little bit it. Of course, you would want it to be right on the money. However, if you are consistently heavy by .003, there is a setting to adjust what it sets your tool to when using the tool eye. unfortunately, I do not know where that setting is at or how to adjust it. You will have to look a little deeper for that.

    • @gsaldana897
      @gsaldana897 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@aaronrunk4209 thank you for the response. I’ve just been making a pass and adjusting my wear offset to make up for it but I would think that the probe should get you closer than .003. I wouldn’t think that changing the cutting insert and probing it and it being that off would be ok but I guess that’s just how haas probing works.

      @gsaldana897 That's what I do for one of my mori lathes. The eye is off .012, but it's the same each time, so I know what to add to the wear each time. Thanks for watching

    hi iam new , can you teach me speed , and feed and what g code using for insert drill , can i use G01 for it ? thanks

    • @aaronrunk4209
      @aaronrunk4209  ปีที่แล้ว

      Feeds and speeds with insert drills rely a lot on the style of insert. However, if you know the brand of insert and the style of insert a tools person for that particular brand and will tell you exactly what feeds and speed to use for the style of material that you're using. so that way you don't have to do any guesswork, you'll have exactly what you need right out of the gate. If you don't know how to identify the insert, there are many insert nomenclature charts online that with help. Hope this helps good luck and thanks for watching

    • @aaronrunk4209
      @aaronrunk4209  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mariocortes1337 yes setups are a very involved on some machine tools and unfortunately, the two mazak lathes I have are much older, and the process is very similar to this in regards to setting tools off the tool eye and setting zeros. I do like that mazak setups save the workoffest locations, but you do still have the initial work offset. What would cool is if you have a newer model mazak, if you would make a video showing off its features. If you are unable to, I understand, but thank you for watching. Fingers crossed, we can get a newer model in the future.

Watching this video and following it helps the manufacturing industry because those learning will be safer when setting up parts. Speed comes with practice, and crashes are a result of being in too much of a hurry. Crashes cost money and time. The rule of thumb is to do it right, then do it fast. Thanks for watching
