    I just did a dye where I mixed tea dying with a hint of petal pink rit dye. I do love the way it turned out. It will hopefully go up on my channel at the end of the week. I will have to try that low emerging you did, it could be a bit easier for a quick batch if I need it sometime :)

    This was extremely useful. I absolutely love your results. I was a research biologist for many years and even now that I'm retired I have a hard time at just having a go at it. Reproducibility is ingrained I suppose. You've inspired me to be a more free spirited dyer!

    Have you tried using more of a paste based fabric.I have used that to die men's Sox
    For a golden gloves competition in the states. I heated up the water and placed it in a large porcelain pot . 3 gallon pot. I died 25 pairs of socks. You have to add salt to the water. They were perfect. It is ok to cook the color for the six. The water can boil.

    Your linen turned out beautifully! Next month (I’ve overspent my budget this month) I’m going to buy some linen to dye. I’ll use the procion dyes because I have them but it’s been a long time since I’ve dyed fabric so we shall see. I’m nervous. The Rit dye looks so much easier to use though and is very tempting. I like your murky version better than murky. I’m not really a fan of that one. But yours is lovely. Thanks for the continued inspiration!

    I love dyeing fabric but also floss, I usually add 2 Ecru floss in my dye bath, or however I’m dyeing, sometimes just on their own if I’m trying for a specific colour . I found using white not as successful, I guess because they bleach it so much , possibly why white floss seems thinner as well. You’ve produced some beautiful fabric colours here. 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

    Thank you for showing us your dying process. The colors of your fabrics turned out very nice. When you buy the white fabric to dye, do you buy individual cuts, or buy yardage?

    • @mommalovesyougb
      @mommalovesyougb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends what they have. I’ve taken more to buying fat quarters because it’s easier and I rarely need more than that…but sometimes the cut quarters are out of stock so I buy yardage. I’m not very good at cutting straight and I don’t have a big surface to lay big pieces out easily 😃
