this is exactly what I needed for some of my 80s and 90s cars. Just finished to do it on '93 SL and I'm going to let it sit for couple of days in the garage as the leather was pretty stiff. Next will be '85 190E. Thanks for the upload.

Looking for a solution when I was using elephant fat on an expensive handbag and where it was difficult to work the wax into the grain. The advice here of using heat and afterwards a towel to work the wax into the grain has worked well.

FYI, this is completely wrong use of elephant fat. Use only in convertibles and areas that has to be protected against the weather. Why on earth would you smear it on an entire interior? Leather like that isn't meant to be shiny!

Tommy Rønningsveen it can be used like this although it is not recommended, this technique should be reserved for extremely dry leather that needs its fat balance restored

Leather should be a matt finish, although perhaps you were being sarcastic.

It says on Colourlock's website for the product "It is not suitable for Bycast or polyurethane-coated (PU) leather." The leather shown here is PU coated.

What is the finished result?? Does the leather go back to being fully matte? The BMW in this video seems to have the "Dakota" leather which is the lowest grade BMW offers and is a coated leather and will always stay shiny once worm (the only way to remove the shine is with a very careful application of a magic eraser, but only once every few years since it's quite abrasive). On my current BMW, a 2011 M3, the leather is called "Novillo" leather which is a much finer leather with less coating (and also much more delicate and scratchable). I believe this elephant fat would would much better on BMW Novillo leather than Dakota leather. As always, test it on a small area on the backseat/armrest somewhere and see how it looks in a week.. Cheers

Can you just let it sit for a couple days or however long instead of using a heat gun?

To expect to have a customers car over night or a week is ridiculous ! Working time needs to be kept to a minimum and then move onto the next customers car !!!

The amount of product applied is absurd. This is not necessary for a seat under these conditions. The glossy look was terrible and far from the original look
